      I found upon the beach,
      pieces of dreams,
      scattered like shells,
      washed over by waves,
      edges worn smooth.

      I found among the stars,
      pieces of dreams,
      brilliant like novas,
      brightest just before death,
      easiest to see long after extinction.

      I found within my heart, 
      pieces of dreams,
      abandoned like childhood toys,
      used and loved for a time,
      forgotten in some dark corner.

      And I found among these dreams,
      pieces of myself,
      and a life that could have been.
