It was finally happening. He knew it had only been a matter of time. Sometimes he felt the Fates went to great lengths to torment him. When he allowed himself time to weigh the scales, Michael found that she had been on this side of the fence far too often. Still, that fact did nothing to comfort him when he knew that tomorrow she would be in someone else's arms. ***** Nikita hated being Section's slave. One day it was, "Kill this one, Nikita", the next day, it was, "Lie to that one, Nikita" and today, it was "Sleep with Victor Dupuis, Nikita". Sleep with Victor Dupuis, indeed. Nikita had half a mind to tell Madeline, "You sleep with Mr. Dupuis, I've heard young studs are your specialty", but the idea of abeyance or possibly worse, what Madeline's retribution to the unvoiced statement might be, made her clench her teeth behind her false smile, preventing her from uttering a single word. She had to admit, though, how she managed to avoid Valentine missions for such a long period of time, was, a mystery to her. They sure used Michael often enough, she thought to herself as she recalled all the pain she endured when Michael was ordered to turn on the charm for some unsuspecting female. Now it was her turn and while she knew she would do what had to be done, she wasn't sure how she would deal with it after the mission was over. ***** Victor Dupuis was an international jewel thief and while this type of criminal normally didn't interest Section, it had come to their attention that Dupuis had in his possession a very rare and exquisite jade ring surrounded by diamond chips that he had procured from the Royal British Museum. It was Section's belief that a microchip containing vital information to one of their on going missions was encased within the ring. Nikita was instructed to meet Dupuis, catch his interest, seduce him and gain entry into his residence, where they knew the ring, along with other articles he had procured, was being kept. She was handed the PDA and noted that Dupuis was quite handsome and thought to herself maybe this mission wouldn't be such a drag after all. That's it, she mused, think positive, it's the only way to get through this. Michael sat at the other end of the briefing table quietly watching her review her PDA. He had already gone over every aspect of the mission as well as performed a background check on Mr. Dupuis, personally. He was just making sure that Nikita would be in no danger during this mission, although truth be told, he was already feeling quite scared. Something was bothering him about this mission, and he truly didn't know if it was driven by Section instinct or by his emotions. He had noticed the way her eyes softened when she looked at Dupuis' picture on her PDA. And why not, he thought, Dupuis was a handsome man. Olive complexioned skin covered a lean and muscular body attesting to the fact that Mr. Dupuis worked out, regularly. He had a full head of curly dark brown hair, which he wore at shoulder length causing him to look slightly younger than his 35 years, and light brown eyes. Michael also noted that he practically matched his height when he had reviewed Dupuis' physical description days earlier. All in all, he looked like "any woman's" dream. Michael could care less about "any woman". He did care about how "one woman", in particular, was viewing the target. Nikita continued perusing the info on the PDA and when she finally looked up, a pair of hazel-green eyes were studying her intensely. She smiled, rose gracefully from the briefing table, and quietly walked away from Michael's intense gaze. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita stopped by Walter's station, briefly, and obtained her communication equipment for the upcoming mission and continued on after allowing Walter his usual leer. When she finally cleared all public areas of Section and found her way back to her quarters, she felt that her body temperature had risen somewhat. She had a visible sheen on her face and drops of perspiration were forming under her blouse. Damn, she thought, what is the matter with me. She didn't want to admit that Michael's gaze still held the power to undo her. "Oh, well", she said out loud. No time to ponder that. The mission's timeframe was approximately four weeks, give or take, and set her cover as the daughter of a "gentleman" millionaire who was visiting Canada on business. She was leaving first thing tomorrow morning and there was still a lot to do. By the time Nikita had obtained her wardrobe and final instructions from Madeline, she was exhausted. She was eager to go home, relax in a warm bath and call it a night. She stopped by Michael's office before leaving Section but was disappointed to find that he had already left. She told herself it was probably better this way and proceeded to go home. On the drive there, Nikita knew she should be thinking about the mission but couldn't help thinking about Michael, instead. Their relationship, be that what it may, had become more solid since his long term mission had ended. It seemed like they were rediscovering each other, the process slow and sometimes frustrating. A comment Walter made to her awhile back about whether the journey or the destination was more important came to mind. She pulled into the apartment complex and parked the car deciding that she wasn't going to touch that one with a ten foot pole. She grabbed her belongings, mission wardrobe included, and proceeded upstairs. When she finally made it inside her apartment, she dropped her bags, let out a loud sigh and kicked the door shut. She was pissed that she had began feeling sorry for herself wondering why she ever came back to this "Section Hell". She was about to turn on the light when a voice, emanating from the far corner of the room, said "Hello, Ni-ki-ta". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael walked out of the shadowed corner and came to stand directly in front of her. His eyes devoured her as he felt the heat of her agitation radiating forth. They stood there, absorbing each other's aura for several minutes, speaking without words. Finally, Michael took her hand in his and began slowly walking towards her bedroom. Nikita, who had quickly went from feeling sorry for herself to being secretly delighted upon hearing Michael call her name, felt her desire heighten in the darkened apartment and began to tremble. If Michael noticed her small tremors, he didn't speak on it. Instead, he gently sat her down on the bed and, bending down on one knee, proceeded to remove her boots one at a time, softly stroking each leg as they became visible. When she was barefoot, he proceeded to kiss his way up her leg starting with her toes. When she felt his lips touch her foot, she wanted to laugh from the sensation it brought, however, laughter was the furthest thing from her mind when he continued further up, kissing and stroking her ankles, then her calves and her knees only to stop, to her dismay, after kissing her thighs. He looked up at her and, again, without words, they communicated as Michael's gaze travelled from her face to the entrance of her bathroom. Nikita laid back, momentarily, as Michael made his way over to the bathroom, lighting the candle already present and began running a hot bath. Just the sound of the water running steadily into the bath made Nikita's toes tingle. Damn, she thought to herself, how does he do that. Michael seemed to know Nikita's desire for a warm bath was prevalent and being a patient man by nature, was more than prepared to wait for what he desired. He had given it much thought. Four weeks was a comparable amount of time and he intended, before the night was out, to remind her who belonged to whom before letting her go. He knew he was wrong. Knew he should have let her be so that her concentration was solely devoted to the mission. However, he found he could not. He took the scented bath beads from their perch and added some to the bath. The water took on a luminous effect with the light of the candle flickering and Michael quietly began removing his clothes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita had become so relaxed by the sound of the running bath water that she allowed her eyes to close. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open and she sat straight up realizing that it was too quiet. She got up, walked quietly over to the bathroom entrance and peeked inside. Michael was removing the last article of his clothing when she peeked in and now stood bared before her. Nikita's eyes slowly travelled the distance of him, appreciating how the beautiful ripples of his stomach muscles turned her on. He was the epitome of male sensuality. Her perusal of his physique caused Michael's manhood to spring to life. She laughed playfully, saying, "Down boy, bath first". Michael couldn't help but to smile, as he pulled her forward removing her remaining attire and gently coaxing her into the bath water. When she was immersed in the water, he stepped in and slowly lowered himself down slipping in behind her. Nikita settled back onto his chest and let her head drop back on to his shoulder. Michael's arms snaked around her sides and his hands cupped her breast. She leaned further into him and his thumbs simultaneously began to draw circular patterns on her peaks. He kissed the side of her neck and whispered, "tu es a moi". Nikita, who wasn't ready to admit that she wasn't completely naïve to his native tongue, responded in her mind, saying, and you belong to me!. His hand dropped lower and he began to caress her stomach while his lips captured and tugged gently on her earlobe. Nikita wasn't sure how long they had been in there. She felt like she was in a trance when she heard Michael call her name. "Hmmm", she responded. "Come", was all he said. She slowly stood up, with Michael supporting her from the elbow, not noticing that the water had become tepid. They took turns drying each other, Nikita first, then Michael. He, again, took her hands in his and walked to the bed. He laid down and pulled her on top of him and cradled her in his arms. She pulled back, looking him in the eyes and saw pure passion and desire. He rolled her over, now dominate on top of her, and began kissing her deeply. Nikita's body responded to his kiss as she heard herself moan out loud and pulled him closer to her. When they broke the kiss, her eyes were glazed over and Michael could control his desire no longer. He entered her, slowly, at first and when Nikita's hips rose to the occasion, he began increasing his strokes lost in the feel of her. The intensity of their lovemaking was all consuming and Nikita didn't know if she was coming or going or whether she even cared. All she knew was that she wanted more of him. She called out, "Michael, please, MORE". He accommodated her, thrusting into her with feral abandon, causing her body to tremor out its release. He watched her as she rode the wave, witnessing her orgasm. She was a ray of light and Michael found that he could no longer control himself. He moaned out her name as his body shuddered out its release. Sated, he kissed her softly and they both fell into a deep sleep. When Nikita awoke the following morning, Michael was gone and for a split second she thought she had dreamed it all. She grabbed her pillow, inhaling deeply, and reveled in the masculine scent of him confirming that it was not a dream, but indeed reality. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita's flight arrived at the Toronto airport on mission schedule and she was driven, in a white stretch limousine to The Montreal Pavilion, where the Pent House Suite was reserved in her name. Her point of contact was a charity social which was being given by one of the community's rich socialites. Section had received verification that Dupuis would, indeed, be there. While Victor Dupuis was an international jewel thief, he was also reputed to attend these types of functions occasionally as he was not completely unsympathetic to the cause. The truth of the matter was these social engagements allowed him the opportunity to network and obtain information about prospective future procurements. Nikita checked in. First into her suite and then into Section. Walter instructed her to keep her Comm link opened at all times, saying a local team from another Section could be contacted and dispatched if any trouble arose. She thanked him, blew him a kiss over the wire and said, "Wish me luck, Walter." "Yeah, Good luck, he responded, but I think Victor Dupuis is the one who'll need the luck especially after he gets an eyeful of you, Sugar." She laughed, saying, "Behave Walter. I have to go now." "Bye, Sugar", he said and disconnected. Michael, who had listened to the whole exchange, turned slowly and headed back to his office. Walter watched him retreat saying to himself, "Poor kid, he really does have it bad." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Later that evening, Nikita's limousine pulled up in front of the Royal Windsor Ballroom. She squared her shoulders, adjusted her black mink wrap and stepped out into the evening air. She was a vision of loveliness in a strapless full length white evening gown which clung to her small frame. Her hair was upswept with golden ringlets hanging softly to frame her face. She made her way forward passing the threshold into the Ballroom and handed her invitation to the crier who announced her as "Lady Nikita Barrington". The hostess quickly bustled over and thanked her for coming on her father, Sir Wallace Barrington's, behalf, ushering her further into the hall. The ballroom was indeed grand. The orchestra was in full swing and various conversations peppered the atmosphere. Nikita made her way over to a corner, picking up a flute of champagne on the way. She had barely got the flute to her lips when she was approached, simultaneously, by two suitors asking her for a dance. She smiled, pleasantly, at them both saying, "Thank you, perhaps later." They returned her smile and introduced themselves. "Richard and Robert Radcliff, at your service." Nikita couldn't help but to like them. They were both so enthusiastic. She engaged them in conversation reciting her Section cover and began playing out the mission profile. ***** Victor Dupuis was bored. He had been here for two hours, already, and not one opportunity had come his way. He was not a man who enjoyed wasting time. A go getter by nature, he had learned early in life that if you wanted something, you aggressively went after it. He took that ideal and refined it with class and style so that one (usually wo-man) had no idea when they were being aggressively charmed. He used his physical appearance to his advantage and had become financially stable charming expensive trinkets away from his unsuspecting prey. "Monsieur Dupuis". "Oui", he responded, turning graciously as he prepared to address them, when he noticed HER across the room. She was, by far, the most beautiful and exquisite jewel he had ever seen. He noticed that the Radcliff boys had her cornered and he promptly excused himself from the female suitor standing in front of him, to her dismay. He proceeded across the ballroom to introduce himself. As he approached, he glared at the Radcliffs and smiled charmingly at Nikita. The Radcliff brothers promptly excused themselves saying they would request the pleasure of a dance with her, later. Once they left, Victor took her hand and seductively kissed her knuckles, never breaking eye contact. Oh yeah, Nikita mused, bedding this fool is going to be easy. I might actually have closure in two weeks and Michael back in my bed in three, her mind drifted. Somewhere from its recesses, she heard Michael's voice say, "FOCUS" and she smiled at Monsieur Dupuis introducing herself as "Lady Nikita Barrington and you are?" "Monsieur Victor Dupuis, at your service", he responded. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "A pleasure, I'm sure, Monsieur Dupuis". Nikita couldn't help but to notice how charming Dupuis was, however, there was something in his eyes that she couldn't quite make out. As they conversed, exchanging pleasantries and getting acquainted, Nikita realized what it was. He had predator eyes. Imagine that, she thought to herself, a charming predator. Nikita knew exactly how to bait him. She, nonchalantly, dropped information about her father's accumulation of wealth and his affinity for precious gems and stones. "Yes, she continued, he couldn't make this social as he's negotiating the acquisition of an emerald mine in Colombia with some colleagues stationed here in Montreal." She had to make sure that Dupuis was completely interested in ALL she had to offer ensuring her entry into his residence. Victor couldn't believe his ears or his luck. His mouth watered as he thought about the endless possibilities. He decided this one was worth his pursuit and continued with his aggressive charm. ***** In his office, Michael listened through the Comm link as Dupuis spoke words to Nikita that he himself had heard coming out of his own mouth to many an unsuspecting female. He held himself personally responsible for not being able to protect Nikita from this Valentine mission. He had been able to for such a long time. Of course, he knew that Operations would not allow him to get away with his poor performance, which began immediately after his long term mission ended, without punishment of some kind. His outward appearance remained calm and professional, however inside, Michael was BURNING. From somewhere in the back of his mind, he heard Nikita's voice say, "Gardez la foi." "Keep faith", Michael repeated, out loud. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In his mind, Victor was still tossing around possible plans of action and avenues to maneuver his way into Nikita's circle. She sure was beautiful. Beautiful enough to marry, he thought to himself. Now that was the old fashioned way, marrying into money. It suited him fine, but he just wasn't sure if that was the route he wanted to take. It seemed so easy. Not at all up to the challenge that he enjoyed partaking in. One thing he knew, for sure, he wanted her in his bed. From the height of her alone, he had already envisioned her luscious long legs wrapped tightly around his waist. Nikita listened as Dupuis attempted to work her over with his charm. She had to admit, he sure had his act polished. This guy could give Michael competition, she thought to herself, trying not to look bored as Victor continued on. "I, too, have a fondness for precious gems and stones, Lady Barrington. Did I not hear you mention that was of interest to your father?" "Indeed, she replied, happy that they were finally getting around to the matter at hand, "and you may call me Nikita." "If you would do me the honor, Nikita, I would love for you to view my rare collection." Base hit, thought Nikita, as she responded with, "It would be my pleasure, Monsieur Dupuis." "Victor, he corrected, as he smiled brillantly, saying, shall we go then?" Nikita casually responded with, "I'm afraid I would never forgive myself if I left without fulfilling my promise to the Radcliff brothers. Would you mind, terribly?" "Of course, not, Victor lied, and after they've had that honor, perhaps I might also be allowed to do the same." "I'll consider it", Nikita said, smiling wickedly as she left, walking towards the Radcliffs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After Nikita had engaged the Radcliffs and Victor in their honored dance, she and Dupuis found the charity hostess and thanked her for a lovely evening. Nikita deposited an envelope containing the Barrington family's contribution in the decorated receptacle and Victor followed suit. Outside, Victor spoke saying, "I have a lovely villa in Quebec. It's about an hour's drive from here. The countryside is beautiful." "That sounds wonderful", Nikita responded, trying not to let her voice waiver. She was beginning to feel a little nervous as she realized she might actually have to carry out the "Valentine" part of this damn mission. "I'll just have my chauffeur follow us to your villa." "That's not necessary, Victor cooed. I'll drive you back whenever and wherever you wish". "Fine, Nikita relented, I'll just dismiss him for the evening, then." ***** Jack Holloway was not a happy man. He was second in command to a small mercenary group who had been hired to deal with the acquisition of a microchip containing the identities of high ranking officials within the South African government who were involved in illegal dealings, in the States. His current employer had been adamant about recovering the chip. If it ended up in the wrong hands, many of the on going deals, involving millions of dollars could fall through the cracks implicating the corrupt South African officials, and many others. Holloway, who prided himself at being professional, was visibly upset upon finding out that the deal he had arranged with the museum curator was now, null and void. He had been in another part of the country, following leads about the chip's whereabouts when he received a phone call from a contact advising him of the microchips true location. It seemed the chip had ended up encased within a jade ring located at the Royal British Museum and the word was the curator could be bought. Holloway arranged for a deal to be cut with the curator, using one of his people, locally, while he flew to London to finalize the deal. He was not at all pleased when he arrived and the curator informed him that the ring, along with the encased microchip, had been stolen from the museum. He continued, saying, the word on the circuit was an international jewel thief by the name of Dupuis now had it in his possession. He asked the curator was that all and after he responded with, "Yes, Sir", Holloway shot him dead. "Find out everything you can on this Dupuis", he told one of his men, who immediately left to carry out Holloway's orders. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - On the drive to his villa, Victor continued to seduce Nikita with his words telling her how beautiful he found her to be and how he doubted he owned anything in his gem collection that could compare with her radiance. Nikita was beginning to tire of Dupuis dribble. Had she eaten anything at that damn charity ball, she knew it'd be hurling out of her right about now. In mission form, however, she thanked Victor for his kind words, smiling provocatively, and saying that the countryside was, indeed, beautiful. Victor pulled his Porsche up to the front gate entrance and clicked it open with his remote control. The gate closed automatically when the Porsche had cleared the entrance and Victor continued down the driveway. In front of her, Nikita saw a small villa constructed in white cobblestone surrounded by Maple Leaf trees. There was a flowered garden to the left and a walking path leading off to the right. The villa was fashioned after one of the many structures one would find in a French providence, affording it a quaint appearance. Upon entering the house, Victor clicked on the foyer light, telling Nikita to make herself at home while he started a fire. He headed towards the adjoining room and Nikita removed her wrap laying it over an embroidered chair and began looking at the artwork on the wall. Under her breath, she whispered, "I'm in". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor was feeling no pain as he started the fire going. He couldn't believe how easy it had been getting Nikita to his villa, alone. He did have a wonderful gem collection and had every intention of showing it to her. That and anything else she desired to see! He was starting to think that marrying into money wasn't such a bad plan of action. Having Nikita as well as her money was definitely starting to appeal to him. He thought about it a little more, finished working the fire up, and told himself, "It's courtship time!" Victor walked back towards the foyer and saw her perusing his art collection. He glided up, dangerously close, behind her placing his hands on either side of her arms, and whispered in her ear, "You like?" Nikita fought back her desire to stomp the jerk's instep for touching her and pressing himself into her backside and instead leaned back further into him saying, "Yes, very much, Victor. You have wonderful taste." "Thank you", he beamed and asked her if she cared for something to drink. "A glass of wine would be fine", she answered, honestly. She was going to need it, she told herself. He took her by the hand and led her to his drawing room where he kept his gem collection locked away in a safe. Nikita sat down on the sofa as Dupuis made his way over to the bar and prepared a drink for himself and wine for her. He joined her on the sofa, handing her the glass and clinked a toast to "the future". He studied her as she sipped her wine and Nikita noticed how his eyes took on their predator look. He put his drink down and leaned in for a kiss. Nikita closed her eyes, telling herself the sooner it started, the sooner it would be over and gave Dupuis what he wanted. ***** Michael closed his eyes, fighting back emotion, as he listened to Dupuis kissing Nikita. He swore to himself that, soon, he would be in a better position of power and when he arrived, things were definitely going to be different. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "He has a residence in Quebec", one of Holloway's men advised him as he ate his breakfast which consisted of black coffee and a croissant. "Good, he responded, get me on the first flight out". Holloway hoped, for Dupuis' sake, that he still had the ring in his possession. His contract had a limited timeframe and his employer would be contacting him soon inquiring about results. The $1.5 million that his group would receive as payment for this assignment was desperately needed. The mercenary business required skilled soldiers and expensive supplies, thought Holloway, as he finished off his breakfast and began packing for his flight. Before he left, Holloway called his superior and began updating him on developments and advised him of his next course of action. The line went silent momentarily and Jack knew what was coming. "No further complications, Jack, we need this one real bad and YOU will be held personally responsible if we cannot deliver. The line was then abruptly disconnected. Holloway was pissed. What the hell does he think, he mused, that I don't know this one could make or break us. Dammit, I was the one who informed HIM our reserve fund was so low that we needed a major contract. Personally responsible, my ass, thought Jack. If I go down, we all go down. He made one more phone call to a weapons dealer in Toronto ensuring that he was properly armed before confronting Dupuis. He wasn't sure what kind of resistance he might come across and had every intention of being prepared. "Yes, I'll take the hand held rocket launcher, as well", he said. Holloway was prepared to blow Dupuis and anyone else involved, off the face of the earth, if need be, to get what he wanted. "Thank you", he concluded and hung up. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor Dupuis released Nikita from his embrace and stared deeply into her eyes. "Would you like to see my gem collection, now?", he asked, his voice velvety smooth. "That would be lovely", Nikita responded, relieved that he wanted to go no further with her. For now, she thought. He rose gracefully and headed towards a picture on the wall in the far corner of the room. Nikita noticed that he touched a hidden button located within the décor of the picture frame and the entire picture slid forward disconnecting itself from the wall. Cool, she thought to herself, a hidden drawer panel. Victor stood just off to the side of the picture and discreetly punched in the code to the safe. The safe door opened and he reached in pulling out a tray of precious gems and stones. He returned to the sofa and placed the tray down in front of Nikita, who gave the appropriate response of, "My, my, my", as she quickly scanned the tray for the jade ring surrounded by diamonds chips. Dammit, she thought to herself, it's not here. Maybe it was still in the safe. Victor watched her peruse his collection and without hesitation asked, "Do you see anything you would like?". Nikita responded with "Everything is so beautiful, Victor. I especially love the jade pieces but I also love diamonds". She had hoped that the mention of her love for jade and diamonds would stimulate him to show her his latest procurement, but alas, it did not. Victor was tempted, when he heard Nikita say she loved jade and diamonds most, to return to the safe and pull out his latest procurement. However, he still did not know the appraised value of the ring and didn't want to expose it before obtaining that information. Nikita feigned interest in the stones before finally saying, "I think they're all very lovely, Victor, however, I could not accept such an expensive gift". He responded with, "A jewel as lovely as yourself, Lady Nikita, is deserving of this and more!". With that he, once again, leaned in and devoured her lips prepared to play out his courtship plan. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Here we go again, thought Nikita to herself, as she plotted on ways to get into the safe, somehow down the line, while Victor continued to ravish her lips. Suddenly her mind drifted to Michael, remembering his caresses as she, again, heard his declaration of , tu es a moi. Something stirred within Nikita and when she and Victor finally broke from the kiss, their eyes were glazed over, and for one moment, they both had to remember who was seducing who. Nikita immediately realized that she needed to slow this down and Victor immediately realized that he needed to get more wine into Nikita. "More wine, my dear?", he sweetly asked, turning his head towards the bar. When he refocused his gaze, Nikita was stifling a yawn. "Oh, please forgive me, Victor", she said, feigning embarrassment. "No, I am the one who should be asking your forgiveness, he replied. I hadn't realized how late the hour was". "Nor I, said Nikita. Perhaps I should call my driver". "Nonsense, Victor replied. I'll drive you back myself". "Oh, no, exclaimed Nikita, I couldn't inconvenience you so". "No inconvenience my dear, he reassured her, however, wouldn't it be more convenient for us both if you stayed as my guest tonight? I have plenty of room". "Victor, Nikita said demurely, are you trying to seduce me?" "Moi", replied Victor, feigning hurt. They both laughed and Nikita continued saying, "Well, if you're sure it's not an inconvenience, I'll accept your offer. May I please use your telephone so that I might inform Daddy where I'll be?" "Of course, Victor replied, happy that she had accepted. This way, my dear". Victor led Nikita back to the livingroom, where the fire was still going strong, and pointed to the telephone in the corner. He turned to leave the room saying he would give her some privacy. Nikita picked up the phone pretending to dial and when she was sure Dupuis was out of range, she spoke saying, "Walter, are you there?" "Right here, Sugar, what's up?" "I'm going to need some equipment, Walter. Can you get it to my suite at the Montreal Pavilion by tomorrow?" "No problem, what do you need?". Nikita informed Walter what she needed and when she heard Dupuis' footsteps coming towards her, she said out loud, "Of course, Daddy, don't I always!. I love you, good night". Walter couldn't help himself as he whispered into her Comm link, "and Daddy loves you too, Sugar!" Nikita stifled a laugh and when Victor asked what had amused her so, she instantly replied with, "Daddy says I should behave myself". "And what did you tell him?", Victor asked. "That I always do, of course", she replied. Victor looked at her, predator eyes gleaming and said, "Maybe we can change that". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita wasn't sure how to respond to that one. She was supposed to be seducing Dupuis, after all, but her cover WAS "Lady" Nikita Barrington and she doubted any "Lady" should fall into bed so quickly with someone they just met. At least that's what she planned on telling Madeline during debrief. Still, she had to say something, so she responded with, "only time will tell Victor". "Indeed", he replied, his eyes gleaming. "This way, my dear, I'll show you to your room. You'll find everything you need there". I'll bet, Nikita said to herself. She got the impression she wasn't the first woman Dupuis had invited to sleep over. ****** Michael was finding it hard to concentrate on his paperwork. Nothing new, he thought to himself. It was always this way when she was away. He decided to check on her by downloading her mission recordings as he had turned off his Comm link after hearing Dupuis repeatedly kissing Nikita. Once the download was complete, he read the transcript from his computer screen and saw that she had recently spoken to Walter requesting additional equipment. He continued reading when Birkoff abruptly swung his office door open saying, "Michael we have a problem". "What is it", Michael responded, his voice devoid of emotion. "It's the Dupuis mission. We've just received intel that a mercenary group has been hired to acquire the microchip". Michael and Birkoff both knew what that meant. The Dupuis mission was supposed to be cold, no action. This new intel changed that completely. It was now hot and Nikita was in trouble. Michael told Birkoff to get Section 7, in Montreal, on the line. Birkoff left immediately and Michael began rubbing his lower lip as he waited for the call to go through. "O.K., Michael, I have Sullivan on the line", Birkoff announced through the intercom. "Hello, Ross?" "Yeah, Michael, what's up?", he responded. "I have a cold mission gone hot in your sector and need coverage", he explained. "Damn, Sullivan said. You couldn't have caught us at a worse time. My headcount is way down. I have operatives spread thin on missions, now". "You can't reassign someone?", Michael asked. "No, Sullivan responded apologetically. You're going to have to handle this one yourself. I'm sorry, Michael. Listen I gotta go". With that, Sullivan disconnected and Michael knew what he had to do. He exited his office and approached Birkoff in Comm, quietly saying, "Call in my team and get Air MobileComm ready to leave for Section 7". "And Operations?", Birkoff inquired. "File the new mercenary intel onto the Dupuis mission data, then update the file logging my conversation with Section 7. I'll debrief Operations when I return, he responded. Birkoff smiled and proceeded to do exactly as Michael had instructed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The following morning, after their breakfast of fresh fruits and croissants, Victor drove Nikita back to The Montreal Pavilion. On the drive back, Nikita formulated a plan to get Dupuis to invite her back to the villa. Once she got the Section toys she asked Walter for, she would be able to get inside the safe undetected. "Oh, Victor, she began, thank you so much for your hospitality. Your villa is lovely and I do so enjoy your company. Victor couldn't be more delighted. He knew in order to make his plan work, he needed to spend more time with her, alone. "So what will you do now?", he inquired. "Well, she said pouting, Daddy has meetings for the next three days which leaves me quite bored, unfortunately. Voila, thought Dupuis as he continued with, "I would be honored to have you as my guest for a few days, sweet Lady, and if you decline my offer, I fear my heart shall break, he said, clutching his chest dramatically. Well that was easy, thought Nikita, as she responded playfully with, "We couldn't have that on our conscience now, could we?" "Then I take it you'll accept my invitation? I promise, you'll not be bored," Victor assured her. "Very well, said Nikita, I accept". "Tres bien, said Victor, tres bien". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jack Holloway walked up to a member of the boarding crew, one more time, and spat out "How much longer?" It seemed his flight out of London - Destination Toronto, had been delayed for three hours now. "An announcement will be made over the loud speaker when we're ready to board, Mr. Holloway". Jack turned away in disgust. He was beginning to think someone had it out for him. If he didn't get to Canada in the next day or two, his timeframe for completing this assignment was going to be very tight. He didn't like working under those circumstances. It made him nervous. He missed the good old days when this business was clear cut and straight forward. Nowadays, you never knew who you might be mixing it up with, although the tighter handle you had on the situation, the tighter the control. The way things were going lately had Jack questioning whether he really did have everything under control. He pulled out his cellphone and made a few calls, checking on developments. Well, he said to himself after hanging up, at least Dupuis is still in Canada and from the sound of it, he was having quite a good time. Jack was livid. He couldn't wait to get his hands on Dupuis. The CasaNova was over there having the time of his life while he was stuck here uptight and feeling like his control was slipping. He reached into his coat pocket pulling out his cigarettes and proceeded to light up. He was immediately advanced upon by two beefy security guards who quickly advised him, "Smoking is prohibited in all public areas of this terminal, Sir. Please put the cigarette out! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor dropped Nikita off at the Montreal Pavilion and told her he would return, as she had asked, in two hours. She explained she needed time to pack a weekend bag and make a few calls to advise her father of her whereabouts for the next few days. He kissed her on both cheeks saying he would return shortly and that she should pack comfortable clothes. She entered her suite and quickly scanned the bedroom locating the package she had asked Walter for and investigated its contents. She then changed into tan linen pants and a white button up cotton shirt before packing a weekend bag and the necessary Section equipment. She was just finishing up when her Comm link came alive with Walter's voice, saying, "Nikita, are you there?" "I'm here Walter, what's up?". "Watch your back, Sugar. The game just got hot". "Can you give me specifics, Walter?" "Not much to tell, he said, except there are other players after the chip, but don't worry, Michael is on it". "O.K., Thanks Walter. By the way, Thanks for the package. It 's just what the Doctor ordered. I'll be seeing ya". "Yeah, be seeing ya, Sugar". He was getting worried but reminded himself that Michael was, indeed, on the case. When Victor returned, he knocked on her door and upon entering asked if she was ready. "Yes", she replied grabbing his arm and linking hers through as he stooped to pick up her bag. "Good, he replied. I know a wonderful little café downtown we can go to, that is if you're hungry", he offered. "Sounds great, Nikita replied. I'm famished". "Are you now, he said playfully. In that case, we might even get around to enjoying dessert, he added with a gleam in his eye. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael and his team arrived at Section 7 the following morning and he immediately began using their technical resources to bring himself up to speed. He checked out the available intel on the mercenary group Birkoff spoke of and saw that a man by the name of Jack Holloway was the one most visible. He knew someone else was pulling Holloway's strings, but given the lack of intel and time, decided that he would concentrate on Holloway. Upon further investigation, Michael found that Holloway had contacted an arms dealer in Toronto looking to purchase some pretty heavy artillery, although he hadn't entered the country to acquire it yet. He continued with his intel gathering and found Dupuis' villa address in Quebec. He then loaded all the information he acquired onto his teams PDA's. By the time Michael was done, it was almost nightfall and while his appearance spoke to the contrary, he was exhausted. He checked the Section's quarters inventory and found a room no one was currently assigned to. He then called his team and handed out the updated PDA's advising them they were on close quarter stand by until further notice. Michael proceeded to his quarters to sleep for as little as his body would allow. He laid down on the Section issue cot and soon spiraled into his subconscious world......He awoke to the sound of moaning. HER moaning, but he was not the one causing it. He sat up trying to pinpoint the direction of the sound and realized it was coming from next door. He got up and approached the connecting door to his room trying to remember why he hadn't noticed it before. He reached out grasping the doorknob and pulled it open. "NO!!", screamed Michael as he saw Nikita, bare and beautiful before him, moaning out her pleasure as she enjoyed the throws of Victor Dupuis' lovemaking. Her long legs were wrapped tightly around his waist and her head hung back in ecstasy as she matched his thrusts stroke for stroke. Michael lunged forward determined to pull them apart only to be stopped short by an invisible barrier preventing him from entering the room. His fist shot out striking at the transparent barrier in front of him determined to break through. His aggressions, however, had no effect and Michael fell to his knees as he painfully witnessed one of his worst nightmares. Dupuis skillfully manipulated Nikita's body until she writhed beneath him, begging for more. He slowly trailed his tongue and lips down her body, kissing and biting her sensitive spots as he progressed lower. Michael couldn't bear to look any longer, but found he could not turn away as his voyeur nightmare continued. Nikita's hips rose to the occasion as Victor's hands slid underneath her bottom lifting her treasure towards his mouth. He kissed her womanhood before tasting her and drinking deeply. Nikita moaned out his name as his actions drove her to the road of ecstasy. Michael clasped his head in his hands and began rocking back and forth on his knees. Tu es a moi, he whispered. TU ES A MOI!, he screamed.......NIKITA!!! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Attention all passengers, we are now boarding flight #527 London to Toronto. We apologize for the delay. Will all ticketed passengers holding seat assignments 35 through 60 please step forward". Jack Holloway stepped forward joining the masses of people prepared to board Flight #527. While he was definitely irritated, the fact that he would still make it to Canada, the same day, alleviated some of his ire. He had lost precious hours although it was beyond his control. He told himself, once he got to Toronto he would contact his men, pick up his package and carry out his contracted assignment without further delay. ***** Michael's eyes snapped open and he immediately sat up frantically looking around trying to gather his bearings. He realized he was still in Section 7. It was a dream, only a dream, he told himself. His self assurances did nothing, however, to relieve him as he realized how close to reality his dream might be. This fact stirred Michael into action. He grabbed his bag and quickly changed into combat gear and proceeded to the Section's main Communications area. He methodically checked various databases on the computer and noted that Holloway was now in the country. Michael knew it wouldn't be long before he contacted the arms dealer and made his move on Dupuis. He reviewed his PDA again pulling up the schematics on Dupuis' villa noting the security system around the property. He removed his cellphone from his pocket and called in his mobile team. "Review your mission profiles. We leave in one hour. South egress". ***** Holloway arrived in Toronto and cleared Customs in record time. He was in combat mode and very enthusiastic about it. He made a few phone calls and arranged for a few of the higher caliber soldiers that were locally at his disposal to meet him at the arms dealer. They would leave directly to Dupuis' villa in Quebec from there. Jack felt like he had things under control again and he smiled to himself on the drive over to the arms dealer. He could almost smell the crisp thousand dollar bills that would soon be in his possession for this contract. When this deal went through, it would put him in pretty good standing and he intended on making the most of it. Heading up his own mercenary group, where he called all the shots, was his primary goal. With all the crap he'd been through, he refused to have anyone again telling him he'd be held personally responsible for mishaps beyond his control. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor and Nikita arrived back at the villa later that evening, after a wonderful afternoon together. They spent time in the Montreal museum, after eating at a lovely café dowtown and conversed about the wonders they encountered therein. Victor then took her driving along Montreal's outskirts pointing out the beautiful landscape and countryside. Nikita had really enjoyed herself. She knew that her entrance into Section had stolen the carefree style of living she once had and this mission was driving that point home. She knew Victor was no angel, however, she was beginning to feel bad about deceiving him. She knew he had his own motives for having her there, and the whole charade was starting to get to her. The sooner this mission was over, the better, she thought to herself. She was snapped out of her reverie when she heard Victor ask, "Can I offer you something to drink, my dear?". "Perhaps later, she smiled. I'd like to unpack and relax a little, if you don't mind, Victor". "Of course, not, he replied. I could use a little rest myself. I would be delighted, however, if you would agree to a midnight stroll with me later on", he prompted. "Perhaps", she replied, smiling provocatively. "Fine, said Victor. Please help yourself to whatever you need. My home is your home". Why thank you, kind Sir", Nikita replied. She intended on taking him up on his offer, alright. Once she knew he was resting soundly, she planned on helping herself into his safe. He kissed her on both cheeks, saying, "Rest well. I'll see you shortly". "Aren't you going to rest", Nikita asked innocently. "But of course, my dear. I want to be well rested should you decide to accept my offer for a midnight stroll, he cooed. I just have a few things to take care of first". "Very well", she said, and proceeded upstairs to her bedroom. She quickly unpacked the few articles of clothing she had, placing the tools she would need under her pillow, and stretched out on the bed, prepared to wait him out. Nikita heard Dupuis enter the master bedroom down the hall about a half hour later. When she heard his door close, she checked her watch. She would wait another half hour, then make her move. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Exactly one half hour later, Nikita reached under her pillow, rose from the bed and quietly opened her bedroom door. She stepped into the hallway and looked down the corridor. It's now or never, she told herself and proceeded quietly down the hall listening intently as she approached the stairs. She managed to make it downstairs into Victor's drawing room. She closed the door behind her and immediately began carrying out her task. She walked over to the far corner of the room and touched the hidden button on the picture frame, just as she had seen Victor do. Again, the entire picture slid forward exposing the safe. Nikita reached into her pants waistband and attached Walter's device to the safe. She waited while it magnetically picked the lock, red lights pulsing, finally signaling its success, with the appearance of a steady green light. Nikita opened the safe door and reached in. Inside, she found a small fortune in gems, stones and cash. There were also many legal documents which she sifted through trying to locate the ring. She noticed a small black box towards the back and grabbed it. Inside was the most exquisite jade ring surrounded by diamond chips that she had ever seen. "Got ya", said Nikita under her breath as she reached into her pants pocked pulling out a tiny jewelers tool which would lift the jade up. She maneuvered the prongs back and lifted the jade up from its setting spotting the microchip right away. She removed the chip placing it in the locket around her neck and replaced the jade stone into its setting. She then replaced everything back in the safe, removed the device and quietly exited the room. Once she reached the foyer, she thought she heard something and immediately walked towards the kitchen pretending to prepare tea. Victor suddenly appeared behind her and kissed the back of her neck, saying, "Did you get any rest, my dear?". "A little, thank you Victor", she replied, her senses alert. "I was just making myself a cup of tea. Will you join me?", she asked. "Thank you , he replied and perhaps we could go for that stroll when we're through". "It is a beautiful night", said Nikita, as she looked towards the window to confirm her comment. When she refocused her gaze, Victor was staring at her intently and for a split second Nikita thought he was on to her. He pulled her into his embrace and whispered her name, "Ni-Kita". She allowed Victor to hold her in his embrace for several moments, carefully shielding the delocking device, before gently pulling back and kissing him tenderly on his lips. "Come, she said. Let's have our tea. I've just decided to accept your offer for that midnight stroll". Victor beamed, saying, "Tres bien, madamoiselle, tres bien!". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor and Nikita stepped out into the crisp midnight air and stared up at the moon illuminating high above. She linked her arm through his and they headed towards the walking path. Michael watched them head down the path through his binoculars and when they had cleared the path's opening, he turned to his team saying, "The security system is engaged. Move in precisely as profiled and take your positions". ***** Jack Holloway was feeling rather cocky. He had obtained all the weapons he needed to carry out his assignment at a considerably lower price than anticipated. He and his men checked the weapons thoroughly for any signs of defect or malfunction before packing it al up. "It's showtime, he said, as they climbed into the jeep and headed out. Holloway and his mercenaries made it to Quebec in good time and parked the jeep four kilometers from Dupuis' villa. They would continue on foot from here. He issued his orders saying he wanted everyone taken alive. They still had to locate the microchip. They took off spreading out in three man teams quickly covering the terrain between them and the villa. ***** Michael and his team moved in. His unit moved strategically along the villa's parameters taking up their profiled positions. Michael continued on, entering the villa from the back, and descended the stairs into the wine cellar. "I'm in, he told his team through his Comm link. Give me two pulses when we have visual on Holloway. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita and Victor returned from their midnight stroll conversing pleasantly as they entered the villa. Nikita immediately sensed Michael's presence and thought her radar must be off kilter. Walter had said that a local team would be dispatched if necessary and that Michael was on the case, not on the TEAM! Victor noticed her confusion and asked if everything was alright. "Yes, she replied. Will you excuse me for a moment, however?" "Of course, take your time", he replied. Nikita proceeded upstairs to her bedroom and closed the door. "Hello, Walter, she said softly. Are you there?" No reply. Suddenly, her Comm link came alive and Michael said, "Nikita, what is your status?". "Michael?", she queried. "Yes. What is your status, he repeated. Do you have the microchip?". Love and kisses to you, too, thought Nikita as she answered with, "Yes, the chip is in my possession". "Good, replied Michael because we have hostiles approaching". "WE", repeated Nikita as she hurried back downstairs. ***** Dupuis, a thief by trade, knew the benefits of having a good security system. He believed, however, that good security started with knowing when someone was approaching long before they got there. The numerous light sensors he had posted inside his villa pulsed red indicating that someone was approaching the front gate entrance. The lateness of the hour, coupled with the fact that he was expecting no one, made Victor spring into action. He walked swiftly to the staircase prepared to call Nikita when he noticed she was already half way down the landing already. "We have a problem", said Victor seriously. "I know", deadpanned Nikita as Michael exited a shadowed corner and stood before them. Victor was momentarily stunned. He looked from Michael to Nikita and back to Michael again realizing that he had been duped. He didn't know what they wanted but sensed immediately that they were two halves of a whole. "What's going on?", he asked. "There's no time", said Michael, looking towards the front door. Victor suddenly remembered the security system and said, "I don't know who you two are but I guess you already know, we're about to have company". As he finished his sentence, the front door burst open and Holloway advanced upon them with a few of his soldiers in tow. "Now", said Michael to no one in particular and that's when all Hell broke loose. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - From outside, thunderous gunfire erupted as Michael's team moved in on Holloway's fall back men. "Take them", screamed Holloway determined to get the microchip in spite of the battle he heard raging outside. He and his men advanced attacking the three of them. Dupuis' old service training kicked in as his opponent threw a punch and Dupuis caught his arm in mid air, pivoted and threw him, judo style, across the room. Michael lunged at Holloway grabbing his fatigues with both hands, effectively bringing him dangerously close, and slammed his forehead forcefully forward. Jack stumbled back, stunned from the headbunt he'd just received. He shook his head, clearing his vision and attacked. Nikita was busy battling two mercs and holding her own, noted Victor, as she delivered a roundhouse to one opponent's head and swept the legs out from the other upon her descent. The first soldier was already recovering from the kick to the head and was approaching Nikita from behind when Victor dove across a chair landing at his feet effectively pulling him down before he could connect with Nikita. Holloway struck out viciously with an open palm strike to Michael's face which Michael immediately blocked with his right hand as he simultaneously struck Holloway's solar plex, open palm, with his left. Holloway doubled over gasping for air as two of his men rushed Michael from behind grabbing his arms to immobilize him. Nikita immediately moved to aid Michael but not before kicking the merc at her feet in the kidneys as he tried to stop her. Dupuis was struggling on the floor with a soldier, each trying to get a strong hold on the other. Holloway managed to catch his breath and stumbled towards the door trying to leave the party. Michael looked at Nikita saying, "We need Holloway, alive", as he shifted his body weight and flipped his first captor over his shoulder. Michael's peripheral vision caught the flash of a switchblade just in time as his remaining captor relinquished his hold stabbing out at Michael's midsection. Michael countered, trapping the soldiers knife wielding arm, his hands positioned on each side, and applied pressure in opposite directions. The audible cracking of bones coupled with the soldier's agonizing scream was added to the, already lively, battle concerto. Nikita sprung forward, grabbing a gun from a fallen soldier, and ran out the door after Holloway as Victor applied more pressure into the chokehold he was exercising on his opponent. The merc finally passed out from the lack of air to his lungs and Victor jumped up, wild eyed, looking at Michael. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita exited the villa crouching low, gun extended in front of her, as she scanned the area trying to locate Holloway. She moved carefully forward noting the sound of gunfire had diminished and was now distant. She shifted slightly looking towards the walking path when suddenly Holloway appeared from behind her saying, "Drop it", as he pushed his gun into her back. Nikita did as he said, turning to face him, smiling seductively. "Where's the ring", Holloway spat. "Ring?", Nikita said innocently. Holloway cocked his gun and repeated his question. "In the safe, I suppose", Nikita replied, feigning ignorance. "Move", he said, pushing her forward with his weapon. ***** "I don't know who you are but we seem to be on the same team, said Victor. Come on, we can exit out the rear and double back around". Michael who had heard Holloway overtake Nikita, through his Comm link said, "O.K. Let's go" and followed Victor to the rear of the villa. Victor lead Michael back to the wine cellar, however, he did not exit from the stairs leading up and out but instead, Michael watched, as Victor slid a rack of wines located on a wall aside, exposing a side door. Victor smiled sheepishly, saying "Never know when you might need a quick exit!". He unlatched the door and they proceeded outside. Michael saw that the exit led to a midpoint within the walking path. They quietly observed the area looking through the bush that concealed them before proceeded out. ***** Holloway gave Nikita another shove motivating her forward. She turned her head slightly to glare at him and proceeded ahead noting the black canvas bag slung over his shoulder. When they reached the front door, Holloway pulled Nikita flush against him using her as a shield as he hesitantly looked inside. Seeing no one, except his own men knocked out cold, he continued into the villa saying, "Where's the safe?". Nikita led him into the drawing room and pointed to the picture in the corner. "And don't ask me for the code, she said indignantly. That's what I was working on Dupuis for before you busted up my party". Holloway laughed. He should have known this one was a player. "Don't worry about that, doll face, said Holloway, removing the canvas bag from his shoulder. He then proceeded to pull out the hand held rocket launcher and pointed it at the wall containing the safe. Holy shit, thought Nikita to herself. He's gonna do it. She ducked behind the bar just in the nick of time as Holloway pulled the release trigger. The deafening sound of the blast reverberated throughout the room as a large section of the wall containing the safe crumpled under the pressure of the mini missile. ***** As Michael and Victor proceeded along the walking path heading towards its entrance, they heard a loud explosion emanating from inside the villa. Michael's eyes widened uncontrollably. "Nikita, are you there?", he asked urgently. ***** Before leaving Section 7, Michael had checked in with Birkoff who advised him that Operations wanted Holloway to be used as a conduit to the next level. Section had received orders to wipe out this mercenary group at the base. Once the microchip was obtained, the mission's secondary objective was to eliminate the merc group at the core level. Michael knew his instructions, however, Holloway and Section be damned if something happened to Nikita. He again asked, "Nikita, are you there?", panic now discernible in his voice. ***** Holloway made his way over to the corner of the room stepping over pieces of cement and looked into the now gaping hole in the wall. The safe was now visible and, as he suspected, the safe's locking system had become disabled during the blast. Nikita peeked up and over the bar just as Michael's voice came over her Comm link. She watched Holloway trying to get at the safe, not responding to Michael, at first. She then ducked back down saying softly, "Yes, but I need backup. This guy's crazy, Michael" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Upon hearing Nikita respond, Michael was visibly relieved. Victor, who heard Michael asking Nikita if she was there, realized that they had an open communication line. He wondered briefly how long it had been open. "What's happening", Victor asked. Michael's response was a blank stare. He then answered Nikita, regarding backup, in two words. "Two minutes". Nikita looked at her watch and began the countdown. Holloway had managed to get into the safe and was hastily sifting through things when he spotted a black box. He grabbed it desperate to see what was inside. As he opened the box, Michael appeared in the doorway, gun drawn. Holloway tried in vain to reach for his gun but Michael was too quick for him. Holloway crumpled to the floor in a heap seconds after the tranq dart entered his neck. Nikita rose from behind the bar as Victor entered the drawing room, his eyes holding an incredulous expression as he perused the damage. Without warning, Michael pointed his gun and shot him with a tranq as well. Nikita raised her hands above her head in mock surrender saying, "Is there one for me, too, Michael?". The corner of Michael's mouth quirked up as he momentarily contemplated the idea. He lowered his gun pulling out his cell phone and put in a call to Section 7. "Send housekeeping". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - On the ride back to Section 7, Nikita and Michael took turns staring at each other. Nikita wanted more intel regarding the mission but knew Michael would remain silent until he was ready to give. Sometimes he could be so damn frustrating, she thought to herself. Michael watched Nikita when she wasn't looking, devouring every inch of her with his eyes. It seemed like an eternity since he held her in his arms, and he found the urge to do so was becoming increasingly hard to ignore. In true mission form, however, he clipped his train of thought and proceeded to contact Birkoff advising him that they had the microchip and Holloway. They would now proceed on to the mission's secondary objective. "I'll update Operations", Birkoff said before disconnecting. They arrived back at Section 7 entering through van access where two pumped up operatives immediately carted the hooded Holloway off for interrogation. Michael announced to the team that close quarters stand by was again in effect and that they would move out after the interrogation was completed. "What about Victor?", asked Nikita. "What about him?", responded Michael. "What are Section's plans for him?", she pushed. "That hasn't been decided yet", Michael replied, as a gurney arrived and carted the unconscious Dupuis off to a holding cell. Michael's team dispersed and he and Nikita were left standing in van access. Michael gazed at her and said, "I have temporary quarters on Level 5". He handed her the access card saying he would be in Systems and walked away. Nikita stared at the card key in her hand, dumbfounded. She looked down at herself as she pocketed the key and realization hit. Her blouse was torn at the shoulder and cuff and decorated with dirt. Her pants were still holding their own, she noted, as she smoothed her hair back encountering particles of debris from the blast clinging to it. Subtle Michael, real subtle, she said to herself as she headed off to Level 5 to shower. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael walked to Systems trying to keep his mind focused on the mission's new objective. He was finding it hard to concentrate as his mind's eye kept drifting to the vision of Nikita, dirty and disheveled, before him. Had he not mastered the art of hiding his emotions long ago, Michael knew he would have laughed out right, while engulfing her in his arms, at the comical sight she presented. The profile for the mission's secondary objective required intel provided by Holloway. Section's interrogation process followed a basic routine where, primarily, the interrogee was restrained, for a period of time, in an overly bright or dark room while fear of the unknown wrecked havoc on their minds. Michael knew they had a little time before the new profile could be created. He was sure the majority of his team was resting in preparation for what was to come and in addition to the heavy action they'd just seen. There really wasn't much for him to do in Systems so he exited the area and proceeded back to Level 5. When he reached the door, he knocked softly but received no response. He knocked again and still nothing. She must have fallen asleep, Michael thought to himself as he proceeded to Administration to obtain a second key. ***** Nikita had located Michael's temporary quarters and she immediately headed for the bathroom upon her entry. She removed what was left of her attire and adjusted the water to her liking before stepping into the shower. She let the water wash over her head, reaching for the Section issued shampoo and began scrubbing vigorously to make sure all the debris came out. ***** Michael returned to Level 5 and entered his quarters. He didn't see Nikita asleep on the cot and proceeded to the bathroom, knocking on the door. No answer. He grasped the handle and hesitantly looked in. Nikita hadn't heard Michael knock as she was diligently rinsing her hair under the spray of hot water. Michael stood in the doorway watching her through the glass shower door and his desire grew. She stepped forward and ran her hands over her head, removing the excess water. Michael watched as the action caused her breast to lift up, invitingly. When Nikita opened her eyes, Michael was standing in the doorway watching her. If she was surprised by his presence, she gave no indication but instead allowed a small seductive smile to grace her lips before turning her back on him. Michael stepped inside and closed the door. She turned her head slightly looking over her shoulder and saw that he was, now, inside the bathroom. She smirked at him and returned to the hot spray of water. When she again looked back, Michael had discarded most of his clothes and now stood before her in black briefs. Nikita licked her lips as she was reminded of a game she used to play as a child called Red Light, Green Light, 123 and she eagerly looked away, again. She began to get excited and found herself actually reciting the chant in her mind, red light, green light, 123 and again looked back. Nikita found she was not disappointed as Michael now stood completely bare before her. She turned around completely and slid the shower door open, invitingly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael stepped into the shower immediately reaching out to embrace her. She stepped into his arms and he gently leaned forward putting them directly under the spray of soothing water. He held her for a while, satisfying his need to do so. When Michael pulled back, it was to capture her lips with his kissing her as if to draw life itself from her mouth. She felt his need, returning the kiss readily, and grabbed the back of his head to bring him closer. When they broke from the kiss, Michael's need for her was evident in his eyes. She immediately recognized the feral look and rubbed herself along his thigh, involuntarily biting her bottom lip. He moaned and lifted her up slightly, taking her breast in his mouth. Nikita's head lolled backwards as he tormented her peak with a series of licks and kisses. He then moved over to its twin and repeated the process until she pleaded with him for more. He took hold of her head and kissed her while lifting her leg and pulling it around his waist. Michael broke from the kiss and watched her face intently as he positioned himself and suddenly thrusted upwards entering her. Nikita swayed backwards and her eyelids fluttered as she received him. Michael found the sight of her an aphrodisiac in itself and began stroking rythmically upwards. Nikita steadied herself on her right leg and began matching his strokes reveling in the sensation of Michael and the spray of water sexually stimulating her body towards its release. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor woke up in a place resembling a spartan hospital room and tried to remember how he'd gotten there. He had a vague recollection of fighting and explosions and wondered if that was why he was here. He got out of bed and walked over to the door pulling it forward. Locked. He went over to the only other door in the room and opened it. Inside the small bathroom, Victor was greeted by his reflection in the mirror depicting his black eye, bruised chin and head wrapped in bandages as if he'd suffered a head injury. "Merde, mon visage!", said Victor aloud approaching the mirror and examining his face closely. ***** Michael was holding Nikita close to him as they laid resting in quarters when his cell phone rang and he was informed that Holloway had broke. He looked at her saying, "I have to go". Nikita watched as he dressed and left to prepare the new profile knowing they would soon be moving out, again. Michael arrived outside the interrogation chamber as Section 7's resident interrogator exited and addressed Michael, "Sir". Michael nodded in acknowledgement. "He was contracted to retrieve the microchip for a Limited Partnership in the States doing business as, International Enterprises". "His group was promised $1.5MM for the chips retrieval and the funds can either make or break them in their current financial status." That was convenient, thought Michael to himself. Wiping the mercenary group out at the core level would be easy if they were starved for funds. "The deadline for completion of the contract is close and his contact is scheduled to call him tonight at 8:00 pm for an update on developements". "And Holloway's superior?", Michael asked. "He goes by the name of Johnathan Brent. He has a residence in Albuquerque but keeps his public appearances to a minimum. The group's base headquarters is also located there". "Thank you", said Michael as he turned gracefully and proceeded to Systems to start on the profile. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael went over the profile again which called for Holloway to deliver a copy of the original microchip to his contact ensuring their belief that the contract was fulfilled and all loose ends were indeed tied. Section would use the vital information embedded on the chip, which correlated to an on going mission, to assist them in achieving closure. The unrelated mission intel on the chip would be used to Section's advantage when and if they deemed it necessary. The business of handling the funds transferred for completion of the contract was surely Brent's responsibility and closing the deal would inevitably draw him out. Michael needed Holloway to provide visual confirmation on Brent and to provide the exact location of the groups base headquarters. He would be offered his life in exchange for his complete cooperation, although Michael knew Section would never honor the deal. Michael proceeded back to the interrogation chamber and walked in. "Good afternoon, Mr. Holloway". Holloway looked up through drug enduced eyes and saw the soldier who had bested him physically at Dupuis' villa. He gave no response. "You work for a man by the name of Johnathan Brent who heads up your mercenary group. We require your assistance in bringing Brent down which entails the completion of your current assignment. Will you cooperate?". Holloway said nothing. Michael smiled at him acknowledging his silent answer and turned to leave. "Wait!", mustered Holloway. Michael turned back around slowly and addressed Holloway, again. "Yes?". "What's in it for me, Holloway pleaded. "Your life", deadpanned Michael as he reached for the door handle and exited the chamber. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When the chamber door closed, Jack let his head drop back down, again. He felt like shit and wondered who the hell these people were. He had never come up against anything like this before and had nothing to go on. Still, his life hung in the balance and he had no doubt, they weren't bluffing. Jack thought about Johnathan Brent and his pompous attitude. He recalled Brent's words to him before leaving London, "no further complications, Jack, you will be held personally responsible if we cannot deliver." Jack had no problem coming to his decision. He told himself he would do whatever they wanted to bring Brent down and anything else that would keep him living. All he had to do was get through this alive, he told himself, and when it was over he'd head up his own mercenary group just as he planned. He would call all the shots then, from a snug and safe haven just like Brent had! With Brent out of the way, Albuquerque would have a vacant spot in the mercenary business and Jack figured he might as well fill that spot. He called out his compliance saying, "I'll cooperate", and minutes later, the chamber door re-opened. ***** Jack was given his instructions for completion of the contract and for his scheduled follow up meeting with Brent. Michael handed him a pair of sunglasses saying they were his communication link during the mission but mainly to advise when he had visual confirmation on Brent. A tracker was embedded in Holloway's arm and a member of Michael's team was assigned to accompany Holloway during the mission. Michael updated his teams PDA's with the new mission profile advising them by cell phone to review the new intel. They would be moving out tomorrow afternoon. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victor wasn't sure but he felt at least two hours had passed since he woke up and not one person had come through that door. He was beginning to experience a sinking feeling when the room door opened and a young woman dressed in a nurses uniform entered carrying a tray of food. She smiled warmly at Victor placing the tray on the table beside him and turned to leave. Victor grabbed her wrist saying, "Please, where am I? What happened?". She gently pulled herself free calmly responding with, "Please Monsieur Dupuis, you musn't excite yourself. All your questions will be answered. But now, she said gesturing to the meal in front of him, you must eat if you please. Victor relented but not before looking up at her in discontent. She raised her eyebrows questioningly and he began consuming his meal. ***** Jack Holloway waited for his cell phone to ring. It was 7:57 pm and his contact in the States would be checking in any minute now. When the phone rang, a trace was immediately initiated while Jack conversed with his contact advising him that the chip was in his possession. He continued saying he had arranged for a flight out of Canada later that evening and could meet with him for delivery of the merchandise when he arrived. "Where will you be?", his contact asked. "I'm staying at the Marriott located right in the terminal - JFK", answered Holloway. "Fine. Call me when you arrive. I can get there within the hour. Well done, Mr. Holloway", he said before disconnecting. Michael looked over at the tracking monitor which confirmed that the call initiated from New York. He looked at Holloway saying, "Now call Brent. Update him and arrange your meeting for tomorrow afternoon". Jack did as he was told reminding himself that it was only for a little while longer. He advised Brent of his success in retrieving the chip saying a meeting with his contact in the States had already been set up for delivery. "The funds are to be transferred into our account first thing tomorrow morning, Jack. You make sure they understand that when you deliver the merchandise, Brent huffed. Let me know when you get back into Albuquerque, we'll meet then", he said before disconnecting. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nikita had fallen asleep after Michael left to prepare the new profile. She sat up noticing more than an hour had passed. Better review my PDA, Nikita said to herself getting up and rummaging through Michael's duffel bag. She located a black tank top and sweatpants dressing quickly and proceeded upstairs to get her PDA from Systems. She would stop at munitions and get fitted for combat gear as well, she told herself on the elevator ride up. Nikita obtained her PDA and reviewed the mission profile while her requisition for combat gear was processed. She noted Holloway was being used to flush out the bigger fish. Nikita wasn't sure that was such a good idea knowing how crazy Jack was. She realized, however, that Section could be quite persuasive in these matters. Jack had probably been tortured within an inch of his life and was now very focused on the issue at hand. She signed for her gear thanking the operative and began wondering where Michael was. She wanted to know what they had done with Victor since yesterday's entry. She knew asking him might create some tension between them but she really enjoyed how they'd been working through their aggressions lately. Things certainly had been different since Michael's long term mission ended, she reminded herself. She decided to leave it alone, for now, and began looking around. She was starving. She spotted a beefy operative passing by and called out, "Hey, Tarzan, where's the cafeteria around here?"." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael provided Holloway with the duplicate microchip and he and the assigned operative were transported to JFK for the meet. When they arrived, Jack called his contact and arranged to meet according to Michael's instructions. He informed him that payment for the contract was to be transferred into their account by 9:00 am the following morning. When his contact agreed, Jack provided him with the account number for deposit. After his contact left the hotel room, Jack looked up at his Section issued travelling companion and smiled. "So, he began, rising from the sofa and getting closer, when do we leave for New Mexico?". The operative studied Jack carefully and responded with 6 A.M." Jack checked his watch and saw they had close to four hours before departure and decided to make a move. He continued forward, saying "So what do you guys do for fun, anyway?", as he slowly advanced. Before he could react, Crystal grabbed Jack by the wrist and applied pressure downwards causing him to yelp out in pain. She glared at him saying, "Not on my shift, Holloway" and shoved him backwards, adjusting her gun. Jack looked at her while rubbing his bruised wrist and finally saw her for the soldier she truly was. He realized it was going to be a long four hours. ***** Nikita finished off her meal and headed out looking for Michael. He was no where to be found. She found an empty computer station and began searching for information regarding Victor. He was being kept in Med Lab but his injuries weren't serious, she noted. She continued searching and saw a request from Section 1 had been loaded onto his file. "Damn", said Nikita, looking around cautiously. She got up and headed for the gym. She suddenly felt the need for a strenuous workout. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Mobile Comm....mobile comm, do you read me?". "I read you, Crystal. What is your status?", responded Michael. "ETA 3 hours 14 minutes, Michael". "And Holloway?", he asked. "Everything went as planned", she said glaring at Holloway disapprovingly. "O.K., Crystal, we're in route, said Michael. When you arrive, rejoin the team at the designated location". "Got it", said Crystal before disconnecting. Michael sat back and checked the mission profile again. Once Holloway advised Brent of his arrival, he had instructions to get him to the group's headquarters for their meeting. Michael's team would obtain visual confirmation on Brent and locate his group's headquarters through Holloway's tracker. They would launch a quick and effective attack destroying the entire based to ensure full containment. Brent was to be brought back in for interrogation and possibly disposal, thought Michael, if he was of no further value to Section. He still wasn't sure why Madeline had requested that Dupuis be brought back but saw no point in questioning her on it. Michael had come to learn that Section left no stone unturned when it came to untapped resources . He glanced over at Nikita sitting in the back of the transport and noticed she was intently studying her PDA. She never ceased to amaze him. They hadn't seen much of each other since their impromptu shower, yet she was completely focused on the mission at hand. She had certainly come a long way since her inception in Section, thought Michael. She had matured on so many levels although that maturity had cost her much. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael and his team arrived in New Mexico and awaited Holloway and Crystal's arrival. When they rejoined the team, Holloway phoned Brent. "Johnathan, yeah its me, Jack. I've arrived". "Good, replied Brent. Where are you?". "In route to headquarters. We can talk there", said Jack. "O.K. I'll be there in an hour. Check the base computer and see if our account has been credited with the deposit yet. The agreement was by 9 AM this morning, Jack". "I'm aware of that Johnathan. I'll check it out and see you shortly", Holloway patronized. He found he could hardly wait, now! Michael and his team tracked Holloway's signal to the base and took up their strategic positions around the camp. Jack proceeded into the compound and was greeted by some of his comrades as he exited the jeep. He continued into the compound's headquarters and went directly to his office logging on. Once the machine booted up, Jack checked the bank account and noted that the funds had been deposited. His mouth salivated. He was so close to meeting his goal, he began to tremble. "Soon", he said aloud. Johnathan Brent stood back quietly in the corner and watched him. He watched Jack's small tremors and pondered the meaning of his words. He never had trusted Jack. He had always found him to be a little too eager and zealous for his liking. Brent continued watching as Jack pulled out a pair of sunglasses and put them on. He began to wonder what the conniving bastard was up to. "Hello Jack", Brent said suddenly. Jack spun around looking towards the corner and Johnathan stepped forward. "Johnathan! W-What are you doing here", Jack stammered. "Waiting for you, of course", Brent replied. Jack couldn't believe he'd fallen for that one. One hour, my ass, he thought to himself. ***** "All teams move in now, Michael instructed. Brent is already on site. We've just received visual confirmation". Michael's operatives advanced storming the compound aggressively. The sound of gunfire suddenly erupted causing confusion among the mercenaries. When they finally realized they were under attack, soldiers began scrambling for firearms, caught completely off guard. Inside Brent advanced upon Holloway drawing his gun. "YOU BASTARD!, Brent screamed. I should kill you right now". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael and Nikita made their way to the rear of the compound taking out three mercenaries in the process. They entered the base headquarters and headed towards Holloway's tracker signal intent on capturing Brent. They approached the office door with Nikita covering Michael flank. He looked at her in silent communication and they simultaneously kicked the door open. Brent's head snapped up and he immediately grabbed Holloway shielding himself and pointed his gun forward. "Stop right there, he demanded, or your snitch dies". Michael looked at Brent, then Holloway, blinked once and shot Holloway where he stood. Jack's limp body slid out of Brent's grasp, his dead eyes widened in shock. Brent paled as he realized there was no way out now. Holloway had been nothing but a pawn, used and then discarded. "Come with me, please", said Michael politely, his gun unwavering. Brent relented and Nikita moved forward to disarm him. Outside the sound of gunfire and confusion had almost diminished as Michael's team started to fall back. "All charges are in place, Sir", advised Crystal. "Good. Take him and prepare for evacuation" he responded handing Brent over. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - On the ride back to Section 7, Michael contacted Birkoff and advised him that they had closure. He continued, saying the team would return to Section 1 that evening and he would debrief Operations upon his arrival. He disconnected and looked towards Nikita. She ignored him completely refusing to make eye contact. Michael exhaled and looked away. Before leaving, he had been informed by Section 7's computer guru that one of his team members had accessed data on Victor Dupuis and Michael didn't have to guess which team member it was. Nikita now knew that Section had requested Dupuis be brought back and her disapproval was quite evident as she once again took it out on him. He found himself, again, torn. He wanted to reassure her but knew he could not. He would have to wait. His plans for their future survival together ran deep and the process was very slow. He wondered if her impatient nature would kill them both before that day arrived. Nikita looked at Michael using her peripheral vision. She was upset with herself as well as him. He always seems to take things in his stride, she said to herself. Then quickly remembered how unsteady his stride had been after Adam and Elena. Still, how could he remain so passive while Section ruined the lives of so many innocents. She wanted to call him on it; to challenge him but knew she would get nothing more than, "leave it alone, Nikita". Sometimes leaving things alone was easier said than done, thought Nikita to herself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Immediately upon arrival to Section 7, Michael requested written debriefs from each team member saying he wanted the individual reports prior to departure. He instructed Crystal further telling her to have Brent and Dupuis sedated and loaded onto the return transport after she debriefed. The operatives began filing out of van access heading in various directions when Michael noticed Nikita had started to walk away as well. "Ni-ki-ta", said Michael softly. "Yes Michael", she replied. "May we talk privately?", he continued. "I don't think that's such a good idea Michael". "Ni-ki-ta, please", he said as his eyes pleaded with her for concurrence. "Fine", she said turning abruptly and heading towards Level 5. Michael watched her momentarily, mentally preparing for the battle to come and slowly began following her as she made her way back to their quarters. He had barely crossed the threshold when Nikita turned to face him, her chest heaving. "Victor Dupuis was instrumental in helping us take down Holloway and his men Michael. Turning him over to Section is hardly the payment he deserves", she lashed out. "Why do I even bother, she continued, you're nothing but their puppet". Michael said nothing accepting her harsh words as his due. He processed her comments regarding Victor and tried to decipher if her agitation stemmed from Section's unjust ways or from something else entirely. He knew, however, nothing he said to her now could justify or calm her down so he patiently stood waiting out the storm. Nikita seethed as she continued verbally bashing Section when she paused suddenly to gauge Michael reaction. His blank mask was firmly in place giving her nothing to gauge from and something inside Nikita snapped. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael saw the sudden change in Nikita's eyes forewarning him but did nothing as she forcefully slapped his face. The severity of the strike was evident as her handprint momentarily appeared on his cheek. Nikita noticed however that the slap did nothing to remove his blank mask and this fact urged her to strike yet another blow. Michael, however, had other plans as he caught her hand midair. Nikita immediately raised her other hand desperate to physically release her anger. Again, Michael took hold before she could connect. With both her hands effectively immobilized, Michael refocused his gaze to her face witnessing the torrent of emotions. Before she knew what was happening, Michael pulled her aggressively forward devouring her mouth in a brutally harsh kiss. The room swayed under her as she tried to pull back to collect herself. However, Michael's iron grip was unyielding as was his possession of her mouth. Nikita heard herself whimper in protest but Michael was oblivious as he pressed on unmercifully. Nikita's training kicked in as she hooked her leg around Michael's ankle and pulled forward effectively dropping him. Michael, however, made no motion to release her wrists and Nikita toppled down landing squarely on top of him. She raised up slightly looking down at him and realized her mistake immediately. His eyes were her downfall. They spoke of his desire, his pain, his need and it was her undoing. "Michael", she whispered. The pent up aggression they both shared was physically released as they unceremoniously divested each other of their clothing and joined together in sexual release. Their coupling was fevered and aggressive, each desperate to purge their tension. Nikita's nails dug painfully into Michael's back causing him to groan out loud as he increased the intensity of his thrusts. Nikita's head reeled as she took him. She felt like she was losing consciousness. The air raced from her lungs as she began to experience her morte petite. Michael felt her walls constrict around him and shuddered violently as they simultaneously climaxed, collapsing in a heated sweat. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael woke up to the ringing of his cell phone. He reached over Nikita who was wrapped around him and answered, "Yes". "The transport has been loaded for departure Sir, and the debriefs have been updated to your panel. We're awaiting final instructions". Michael checked his watch and noted they had less than an hour before departure. "Thank you, Crystal, he said. Please inform the team we leave in 30 minutes. South egress". "Yes Sir", she responded. Michael closed his cell phone noting that Crystal was the ever efficient soldier. She always performed well during missions. He looked down at Nikita's sleeping form and brushed stray blonde strands of hair from her face. He leaned down and kissed her softly stirring her awake. She opened her eyes and smiled shyly. "What's up", she said stretching out her taunt muscles. "We leave in a half hour and you owe me a debrief", Michael said as he got up and headed for the bathroom. "Hey, no fair", Nikita called out as he disappeared into the bathroom to shower. ***** The ride back to Section One was uneventful and Nikita took the opportunity to analyze recent events. She had challenged Michael and taunted him as well. She was truly angered at the whole Dupuis situation and while she and Michael had worked through their aggressions, she wasn't sure if it had been a calculated move on his part. She turned her head slightly and looked back at Victor Dupuis' sedated form and suddenly felt shallow. Sometimes she wondered how much longer she would survive her lack of life in Section. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael's team arrived back at Section entering through van access and was met by Madeline as they emerged. Her analytical eyes surveyed everything as Med Lab technicians arrived with gurneys for Brent and Dupuis. "We have closure?", she queried. "Yes", replied Michael. "Good. Operations is expecting you". He nodded in acknowledgement, turned around and headed towards Operations office. Her gaze then fell upon Nikita. "Please come to my office after you report to Systems, Nikita", she said smiling warmly before gracefully turning to leave. Nikita watched her walk away and wondered if she would ever be free of Madeline's invasive analysis of her every move or lack thereof. This time, however, she knew the issue was with her lack of action regarding Dupuis. Nikita squared her shoulders and headed towards Systems to return her gear. What did she have to worry about, she told herself. The mission WAS a success. ***** "Please sit down", Madeline invited, her fingers steepled together in front of her. Nikita made her way over to the "hot seat" and slowly sat down, smiling pleasantly at Madeline. "You were given specific instructions regarding Victor Dupuis. Can you explain why you failed to carry them out?" "There was no need", Nikita replied. "I disagree, Madeline continued. This was a Valentine mission and while closure was achieved, your valentine skills were not used to their fullest". Nikita said nothing, silently waiting for the axe to fall. "You're to report to Level 4 at 6 AM tomorrow morning for additional training". "Additional training", repeated Nikita. "Yes, replied Madeline, stone faced. Your field mechanics need further work. That will be all Nikita". She rose gracefully, acknowledging Madeline's dismissal and walked towards the door, trying not to show the feelings of doom she had begun to experience. Madeline watched her leave noting the slight slump of her shoulders. Her eyes softened momentarily, observing her grief. Once Nikita exited, she turned back to her console and her thoughts focused on Victor Dupuis. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael approached the entrance of Operation's perch in his usual manner, quietly observing him while awaiting acknowledgement of his presence. "I see we have closure on the Dupuis mission", Operations stated flatly. "Yes", Michael replied, stepping forward to close the distance between them. "Was it necessary for you to handle this personally, Michael?". "The situation as it was at 7 was not viable to guarantee our success, Michael readily replied. "What's their status now?", Operations continued finally gracing Michael with direct eye contact. "The same", Michael monotoned. He continued saying, Sullivan had completed an advanced recruitment schedule which he planned to implement immediately. Operations went silent, obviously contemplating his next strike, thought Michael who waited patiently. "I want you up to speed on the Kobar mission in 48 hours, Michael and have the entire debrief for the Dupuis mission on my desk by 5 AM". Michael's blank mask remained in place as he responded with, "Of course". Operations glared at him saying, "That will be all", promptly dismissing him. Michael quietly took leave of Operation's space and immediately proceeded to his office. He would have to work at triple time, he thought to himself, knowing they were not through with him yet. He completely expected to be summoned by Madeline for further analysis and saddled with additional duties before the night was out. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Johnathan Brent woke up slowly and found himself bound to a metal chair in an otherwise empty chamber. The cell door opened and a bespectacled male-female couple carrying individual attaches walked in. Johnathan immediately picked up on their ominous nature despite their average appearance and cringed, in spite of himself. Fric and Frac advanced upon Brent, watching him intently. They were testing a new unit and were very eager to report their findings to Madeline. ***** When his blindfold was removed, Victor found himself in a circular white room with blindingly sterile white lights illuminating the barren cell. When the metal door next creaked open, a brown haired beauty gracefully entered, smiling charmingly. "Good morning, Monsieur Dupuis, said Madeline, her eyes twinkling. I have a very interesting proposition to offer you". Victor said nothing at first studying her intently. He recognized something in her countenance and smiled slightly as he realized what it was. He decided to play along, this time, recognizing a charming female predator when he saw one. He smiled seductively stating, "an interesting proposition from a dark haired beauty! How could I refuse, Madame". Madeline smiled sweetly, completely amused. She clasped her hands together, walking towards him and began explaining. She proposed a tenuous relationship between himself and Section which in the past had worked very well in their inventive methodology environment and could be very beneficial to both parties in the future. As she continued, Victor listened intently and found that he was completely intrigued. ***** Nikita proceeded to Level 4 and walked slowly down the corridor to her assigned training room. She felt like a condemned prisoner on deathrow walking the last mile. She reached the chamber's entrance and hesitantly knocked before entering. She closed the door behind her and turned slowly to face her fate. "Good morning, Ni-ki-ta", Michael cooed, attaching a surveillance scrambler to the wall. "Shall we proceed". Voila, Fini
