Two angels-
Shadow and light-
Hang in
Embroiled in freedom's eternal fight.
Shared souls-
Torn by longing and pain-
Hold on
To love's indomitable flame.
Hearts caged
With frozen power
And suspended wrath
Await truth's appointed hour.
Panther eyes stare;
Fingers ache for a forbidden touch
After years of clandestine yearning
And wanting so little, so much.
Coiled desire
And tangled trust
Unleash primal passions'
Possessive thrust.
The pale hostage-hope-
Lives, imprisoned, with peace:
Hovering at heaven's edge-
Tormented, without release.
Clocks stutter;
Night devours day;
There's only absence, loss,
And shifting shades of grey.
There is no home
For a riven heart-
Blindsided and shattered,
Annihilated and set apart.
But love
Regenerates phantom flesh-
Healing broken spirits
And making wounded hearts mesh.
