"She is coming in.. Tonight. I know it." Michael said and left. Madeline closed her eyes and swallowed. Now there was a possibility that she never thought of. Maybe Steven was connected to the splinter group. Madeline leaned back in her chair and frowned as even though Nikita kept her computer on, she had blocked many important functions, except those to allow Madeline to make operatives changes in missions.

*

Nikita stood up from the computer and stashed the two pockets like devices into her mission pants as she turned to the weapons. Steven walked out of the bathroom and stared at her. He knew she had stayed away the rest of the time and that she had gotten no more sleep. Her knee had swollen up, and he now watched Nikita struggle to pull the boots onto her feet, especially her broken ankle.

"What did you do with those things?" Steven said and Nikita turned and looked at him. She seemed to focus her eyes on Steven, when suddenly, she stamped her foot down and the foot hit the bottom of the boot and Nikita blinked away the tears of pain.

"Nothing for you to know. I still can not be sure if you are telling the truth. They are for my own protection and well-being." Nikita said forcefully as she picked up a gun. She looked to the window as Steven moved closer to her.

"We should talk about what happened.... I think they call it fugue states... and they can happen again when you least expect it." Steven said and Nikita picked her head up and blinked her eyes as her hands rubbed the gun, and then tightly gripped it.

In one movement, Nikita turned around and slammed Steven in the stomach with the gun. Nikita dropped it to the bed and looked at him as he bent down in pain.

"I am not going to talk about Michael with you. What happened last night...... didn't happen. Remember that always." Nikita stated as she pushed him back up. She pulled through her bags, trying to make sure she had what she would most likely need on her. Once she got inside Section One, all things were going to be up in the air. Nikita crossed her fingers as she picked up the rope, that Operations was still stuck in his office. She didn't care what the others were doing, but it would be best if Operations was in a central location, where she could head too.

"You do this to me because I wanted to talk about Michael? You did this to me because I am worried for your own good? What do you do when you don't want anything from someone?" Steven asked as he stumbled forward and then gasped in pain as he held his stomach. He shook his head, knowing that Nikita would just kill them, being the cold Section One operative that she is. Nikita blinked her eyes and looked at him carefully as she moved forward and grabbed what little bit of hair he did have and pull him to a standing position.

"No.. I'm doing this because it has to look real.. That I am holding you hostage. I don't torture for fun, that's Madeline's thing." Nikita said as she stepped back. Steven turned his head towards her and Nikita smiled and slammed the bone-breaking fist into his nose. Steven tried to grab his nose as Nikita lunged again, and hit him with an upper cut that dropped him against the wall. Nikita looked at his body and stamped down on his foot with the butt of a rifle.

"STOP!" Steven cried out as he tried to shake the stars from his head. Nikita blinked her eyes as she remembered back to a time that she had made Michael abuse her in order to get her back into Section. Nikita didn't even know that once the truth came out, that Steven would be spared. His life might be ended because of the pact he had with his father, if she got to tell all about that. Yet, Nikita had made sure to send a copy to Michael of what really happened and then sent a disk to Elena. To Elena, it sounded like the children's songs it claimed to be.

"That should be fine. You'll find some ice still on the sink." Nikita commented and Stephen limped to the bed and feel down. Nikita looked over her shoulder and began to test how much equipment she could carry on her body. Nikita was not joking herself, she had known she lost some of her strength and therefore had to try.

"You aren't going to use all of those." Steven mumbled out as his lips began to swell. Nikita sighed and pulled out two Kevlar vests, and threw one to Steven.

"Put that on... You will be following behind me....and I don't want you killed." Nikita stated and Steven looked at Nikita and swallowed as she strapped hers on without blinking. Steven was shocked at this Nikita. He once believed her to be just a person that was trying to mend her heart by giving up her soul. Yet, Steven wasn't sure which personality was going to spin around and kick him. He had to hope that this was only for Section One, but then he even knew that thought was wrong. This was for Nikita and Michael, and Steven could only hope that there was one solid splinter group within Section One that Operations didn't know about.

"Steven.. Hurry.. We don't have much time." Nikita said and Steven started to move the vest on, feeling the pain of his ribs as he pulled it tightly on. Nikita turned and looked at him. He reached out and grabbed her hands, knowing that maybe that for a few moments he could get a sense of what she was planning.

"Steven.... I want to be there when the lights go back on in Section One, not afterwards! .. In two hours.... Operations.. YOUR SO-CALLED FATHER will still be locked into his office. He will order me killed until he sees I have you..." Nikita explained in a rush, knowing that was what Steven was looking for. Nikita licked her lips as she paused. There was something else that he had to know about.

"And when I get there.... I won't be as pulled together as I am here.." Nikita said and Steven lifted his head and stared into Nikita's eyes. She moved to him and Steven dropped her hands.

"I will be nuts, Steven.... Some of the things I will do will make absolutely no sense to you, don't try to make sense out of it. It will be beyond you." Nikita admitted and Steven stepped back and jumped as Nikita pushed him a gun. Nikita turned her head away and left him standing there with the gun. Steven looked at it and then pocketed it, knowing that it was for emergencies.

"Will this be a planned nuts, or do you plan on losing your mind for real?" Steven asked and Nikita blinked her eyes and moved to the window of the hotel room. There weren't a lot of cars, and now would be a good time to leave the hotel room. Of course, Nikita and Steven will be the last people to leave that hotel room they had stayed in and Nikita looked around, and hoped that the other rooms were unoccupied, but she couldn't be sure, yet she couldn't chance it. If innocents died, she would hurt, but it didn't matter as much as the massive amounts of operatives that were under the control of Operations. His reign needed to end, TONIGHT.

"I can't say I haven't lost it all ready." Nikita stated as she moved and motioned Steven to move to the car. He trembled as Nikita handed him the keys to another car that Nikita had gotten during the day. It was not really a car, more like a partial van. Steven swallowed and moved as Nikita moved back to the bed. She looked at it and cringed as she felt the pain of the knowledge of what she did. She knew Michael, and to think that Steven was Michael was crushing to her last ounce of spirit. If she didn't save her life today, she hoped to save Michael, Birkoff, Walter, and Madeline, and now possibly Steven. She took the last of the pills that Michael gave her to stop the Oversight trackers and slammed it down into the pillow next to the bomb.

She had even given Steven a few of them, knowing that maybe he had been tagged with something of the sort. Nikita leaned down and pressed the button and jogged out of the room, carrying the equipment on her that she would need for Section. For Nikita, as she slammed the door shut and jumped into the partial van, she knew that she was either going to live or die this day, but that didn't mattered. What mattered was getting was done wrong to Section One back to the person who did it all, Operations.

*

Nikita looked to the right handed remote control and swallowed as she looked at the little panel that she had seen for years over and over, day after day. Here was the point of no return. She could still run, at this moment, and being smart enough, run forever from Section One. Yet, Nikita looked at the panel, and the bruising Steven and knew what was going on inside was meant for her to stop. In her heart, this was the last chance for her body to work properly. She knew she couldn't physically run any further. She also knew, that Michael would never stop looking for her. That was the true danger, that Michael would never give up his quest to be with her one more time, to figure out what there was between them and what Nikita had been afraid of on many occasions before.

"What are you waiting for?" Steven hissed out, almost angry, and Nikita turned and pushed her hand down onto the pad. She pressed the lighted numbers and waited for the door to open up. Nikita stepped in and pulled the thick rope that was tied tightly around Steven's waist. Nikita had laid the law down, that he was not to draw his gun unless he was absolutely sure that his life was in danger. Nikita stated that her life did not matter in this last fight. His gun was only to be used to save his life.

Nikita pulled the gun up and looked to Steven as she listened to the doors open up. She laughed wickedly as she started to shower the hallway in front of her as the lights turned on in the same instance. She hit several operatives dropping them to the ground, never caring who they were. Nikita stepped in between the doors and continued to fire the gun rapidly off as her face turned from the stern face into a maniacal smiling face that caused Steven to swallow back the fear as it ran his body. He was sure that Nikita had now lost it from the way that she was acting. Her hair that was in a stern bun seemed to be spilling out into a mad bird nest and her nostrils flared broadly with each inhale of the underground air. She was acting insane and Stephen prayed that it was an act.

"OPERATIONS!!! I'M HOME!!!" Nikita cried out in a loud voice that Steven cringed at. It was like she was some sort of mad clown, taunting him when she already had little power. Steven didn't know what she was trying to gain in calling Operations out, like it was a western showdown. She pulled Steven out of the elevator and into the hallway. She pushed the one button on her remote control, and her voice echoed throughout the hallways in all the speakers. There was nothing subtle about her approached. Steven didn't realize that Operations was waiting for something subtle, that in his mind, Nikita would never lose it like this.

"NIKITA!" several operatives gasped out throughout Section One as Michael exited his office. As soon as the guns were heard, Michael knew and moved to his office. He was not going to run towards the area of activity, he knew where Nikita would head and he was sure that Nikita had used to her advantage all the access codes that she has. Although he was not keen on the approach, so far it seemed to be working. It was the lack of information that bothered Michael, as he wanted to know how Nikita was going to end all of this.

"I HAVE YOUR SON!!!" Nikita cried out as she pulled and dumped the first emptied machine gun off and started down the hallway with the next one ready to fire. She saw the operatives with guns, all waiting for her to pass. Steven looked around as she saw that they were taking her back. They were on her side. Steven swallowed with the actions of many operatives.

Michael stopped in the hallway and swallowed. Steven could be a way to get to Operations to stop from killing her on the spot. Michael rubbed his head as he wished he were closer to Madeline. He didn't know where to go, to go to the line to be with Nikita, or to hide somewhere in case things went bad. There might be a chance he had a thing or two to throw into this movement, but not knowing what Nikita had hampered his own abilities.

"STOP!" A line of four operatives, actually little boy recruits cried out and Nikita did not blink her eyes as she splattered them to shreds with her gun, not waiting for all of them to drop down dead to the floor before continuing on into Section. Nikita stopped and sighed. Steven's face grew even a whiter shade of the ghost white it was. He had been concerned about Nikita and believed that she had a soul. But now he wasn't even sure of that. He had heard the saying that the worse woman was a woman scorn, but this was beyond that. She was all those crazy killers wrapped up into one.. Give her time and Steven was sure that she would turn into Hannibal Lector.

"Do you smell smoke?" Nikita said loudly as she looked at Steven. He didn't know what Nikita was talking about, as her eyes seemed to get wide, like he had seen her when she was on drugs. Nikita looked around her little growing army and pulled out the remote control.

"What did you do?" Steven hissed as Nikita continued down the hallway after pushing the button on her control. She stopped and took as stance as a pair of running feet down the hallway. She was about to shoot when Walter flew into the area with four guns hanging off of his sides and a pleasant smile.

"I'll tell her what she did. She set the sprinklers off in the one room where someone is smoking." Walter said with a deep laugh, but when he looked at Nikita's eyes, he stepped into the crowd behind her. He knew that she had her plans, and so far she had been doing pretty well handling herself without his help, or anyone else's.

"KILL HER! AND TURN OFF THE SPRINKLERS!" Operations hollered over Section One and Nikita started to run down the hallway. The rope pulled taunt around Steven's waist and he was momentarily thrown off balance. He dragged a few feet before gathering his feet back up onto the ground.

"Do you take me as being stupid?" Nikita asked as she came across the torture twins. They were always armed with devices of torture, but they never did have good shooting range scores. Nikita laughed as she kicked at the two torture twins. Yet, she was shocked as the one kicked into her tender knee. There was a snapping and Nikita jumped up and continued to look at them.

"I never liked you two... But you know.... I can inflict more pain on myself that you ever can." Nikita hissed out with a laugh as she turned the machine gun around and rammed the butt of the gun into the tender knee, this time making sure to hear the damage crackle. Nikita lifted it as the twins stepped back.

"I think you guys just don't qualify for the job any further." Nikita hissed out as she tattooed them with a spray of bullets as Steven caught up to Nikita's erratic behavior.

"You didn't need to kill them!" Steven cried out as he looked at the bloody pool of body parts on the ground. Nikita shook her head and pulled through the bodies, picking up the blood on her boots and continuing down the hallway, in the longest route to the center of Section One, the longest route to find Operations, where she knew he was trapped.

"She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes..... Oh... she'll be coming around the mountain when she comes..." Nikita sang out and the army behind her continued to sing as Nikita skipped a bit, although the obvious damage to the leg. Walter was shaking his has he looked at the sight, knowing that the massive amounts of adrenaline going through her body had to be more than humanly possible. It was like she was seeking out those to kill, those who were following Operations' orders. Yet, Walter was sure that the sheer number of those who were on her side surprised Nikita. Yet, Nikita also knew that the supports would be in the place she headed.

Nikita saw the guns starting to point at her, and she started to shower the area, feeling the war about to begin. She had yet to see Madeline and Michael, but that was not her focus.

"Hey, Cancer Man... guess who I have?" Nikita called out as she pushed another button. All the screens in Section One flickered on with the image that Nikita was sure that all would see. It was the footage of the mission in which she shot Steven... and then the footage of Nikita snapping him out of the bar.

"Yeah.. Someone that was suppose to be dead.... And then.. You worked with him for years..." Nikita said as she started her verbal battle with Operations before she arrived on the scene.

"I don't know what you are talking about. Someone kill her!" Operations hollered. Nikita turned and looked at her supports and then opened up a door. She threw in a little ball into the room and looked at the supporters as the entire room exploded. There were people in it and now everyone trembled.

"I am not leading you guys. I am doing what is right. If you don't want what is right, and you are only following because you think that I am different, leave. Spare your life. I'm just like him... wanting to impose my own feelings on what is right and wrong." Nikita preached out and waited. The operatives looked around at each other and no one moved.

Had Nikita not been busy with the craziest and seemingly least plan take-over of Section One, while running on nothing more than one leg, one broke leg, and a body that had lost weight and been through heroin withdrawal, she may have been touched by the solidarity behind her. For years, Nikita believed that she had no place in Section One, well actually, the operatives, mostly privately, took a liking to her, that now was being demonstrated. It was touching, but it would and could not stop the crazed Nikita as she laughed deeply and turned away from the operatives.

Nikita looked at Steven and pulled his hands and tugged him ahead as they started towards the last hallway. She dropped the machine gun and pulled out the hand revolver, the biggest one that Walter had ever seen. He had never been able to get an exact count on the equipment that she had pulled from the gun store, but he was sure that it wasn't the only place she went. He could only imagine the small arsenal she had, like the rocket launcher he had yet to see.

"Show time..." Nikita laughed as she moved down the hallway with Steven. Steven opened his eyes, now worried. Maybe Nikita hated him too. Maybe she had gone crazy. Steven trembled in his pants and swallowed as Nikita continued down the hallway, having to pull the rope to keep him near her.

*

"Kill her!" Operations screamed as Nikita stepped out into the light of the connecting hallways that were below of Operations' glass office. Nikita smiled and pulled at the rope. In one movement, she twirled Stephen into her arms and cocked the gun to the man's head.

"Do you think that is a wise idea?" Nikita questioned as Michael stepped out of the shadows and looked around. The operatives about were dropping their weapons as Operations paced above everyone. He was seeing the power he did have, running away with a look of Nikita's wild eyes.

Michael didn't notice, but another person had noticed the maniacal eyes that were pressed straight ahead up onto Operations. She also noticed the slight sway of Nikita's body and the damage to her one leg, in the knee and ankle. Madeline looked ahead, knowing that she had nothing she could do now, and could only pray that this all ended the way she wanted. If Nikita died, Section One would die also, because the future leader, Michael would never get past her death.

"Put your guns down for now.. But Nikita.. You will die..." Operations said and Nikita smiled and held the gun to Steven's head, even pushing it tightly against the skin. She smirked and shook her head and then shrugged her shoulders.

"We all die... but when I am done here... They'll know the truth...." Nikita said and Operations leaned forward and dropped his current cigarette out of his mouth and onto the floor. He narrowed his eyes in order to look at Nikita.

"You don't know the truth, Nikita." Operations said and Nikita raised an eyebrow and started to drag Steven with her circling walk. That was the only way that Nikita knew that someone would try to kill her, as long as Steven was in her arms.

"Is that a challenge... I think I know more than you even know...." Nikita said out as she raised her blue eyes to stare up at Operations. He looked around and ground his teeth together. He had wanted this woman from the time that she was recruited to die and now he wanted to kill all of the operatives on her side. All of them had stopped their movements and plots, knowing that she had the power. The power that Operations only know was realizing was never his. He began to wonder how the blonde with blue eyes gained the power so easily, so steadily, and he didn't even think that it was because she still had a heart. He would never get Nikita that credit.

"Let's see.. We can start how you were the head of the splinter group.." Nikita cried out and there was large gasp from the operatives standing around the room. They all knew that the splinter group was dangerokus and was taking out Section One targets. It was unthinkable that Operations, the leader of Section One was also the leader of Section One's enemy. Nikita turned around and tugged onto Steven's body.

"It didn't take much for Steven to tell me all... and then for him to cry on my shoulder... when he said you had turned against him... You turned against your own son..." Nikita said and Operations slammed his hand into the glass window only to reek more pain onto himself.

"But that is something you don't know..... How about this.... George... when he started to countdown to incinerated Section One. He had other plans." Nikita said and Operations shook his head as Nikita laughed and then leveled her eyes up and looked at Operations. He could tell that Nikita wasn't going crazy, and that in fact she had complete control of everything that she was doing.

"What plans?" Operations said, thinking that those words were a bluff. Nikita smiled brightly, suddenly seeing sane for one second before snapping back to her maniacal style of holding all of Section One hostage.

"Think, Paul.. .But I forgot.. You aren't good at that.... So I will spell it out for you." Nikita said as she stumbled a bit, the pain from the leg starting to take over her body. Nikita lifted her head up and shook her knotted hair about, even into Steven's eyes.

"I was out of Section .. And Michael was out of Section... He was going to get rid of it all.. . And put Michael and me in charge of building the new Section One.. The right Section One... He made a little mistake though... He tried to drug me.. And then kill some good men... Like my boy Birkoff and my pal Walter... He should have known I wouldn't have allowed that to happen... He was stupid... as are you... thinking that you are going to stop me now... Because I have your son..." Nikita said as she looked at Birkoff and lifted her head up to Operations.

"See... I am going to tell you what you are going to do..." Nikita continued and Operations blinked his eyes and shook his head.

"I will not do anything you say, Nikita.... Never." Operations said and Nikita tilted her head to the side and moaned lightly.

"I'll kill Steven here... better yet.. I'll kill us all..." Nikita said and Operations did not flinch. Nikita turned her head to the side and used her free hand to push a remote control button.

"Or I can kill your little Isabelle...." Nikita said as the picture exploded over the screens throughout Section One and Operations stepped back and Madeline's eyes expanded. That information was in no computers anywhere because it was so damaging and could be used to hold both Section One leaders under such tight reigns.

"Yours and Madeline's love child..... Hidden away for what?... six years?... Named after Madeline's old codename.... I'll kill her... right now... So what is it, PAUL?" Nikita said with deadly serious eyes and Operations looked around and swallowed.

"What do you want?" Operations hollered over the murmuring that was occurring between the operatives that were waiting to see what was going to happen. Nikita smiled and looked to Birkoff.

"Mr. Birkoff... punch in the following code.... N6890-309 and then F3." Nikita said and Birkoff typed it quickly and the screens all blinked with a close up on Operations' computer.

"You are stepping down.... Type this code..." Nikita said and Operations shook his head.

"Never..." Operations hissed out and Nikita looked to Stephen and pulled the trigger. Everyone flinched and Nikita looked back up.

"No bullet this time.... Do you want to chance it again? And what about your Isabelle.. no.. Madeline's Isabella..." Nikita questioned and Operations moved to the computer.

"Type in #H1-leader.Wolfe and then hit enter." Nikita said and she looked at the computer screen as he did exactly as typed.

"You know the command.... Hit the Shift button and then your panic button, Sir." Nikita said rudely as she looked up at the screen. Operations closed his eyes as he did so. The computers all started to spit and spurt as they ran the command through the system.

"System Needs Oversight Code." The computer voice said and Nikita looked around and shrugged her shoulder with a stunning smile.

"Looks like I am the only one around from Oversight.." Nikita said and Nikita looked to Birkoff.

"Type this Birkoff.... Section8+hot-26894.directory" Nikita ordered and Birkoff nodded his head as he went quickly. Nikita looked up at the rolling screen above as everyone else did. Everyone was watching the process of the new leader of Section One being made. Nikita looked up at Operations and smiled.

"Madeline." The computer screen announced and Nikita looked to the corner as everyone instantly found the hiding Madeline. Madeline stepped forward and looked at Nikita.

"You can lift the shields to that office, Nikita.... I will be debriefing him in the White Room before his.. Ah, retirement." Madeline said and Nikita dropped the gun from around Steven's neck. Nikita shook her head.

"I need him to see one more thing." Nikita stated and Madeline blinked her eyes and allowed Nikita to go, as she could not see how she could stop Nikita now. Operations looked defeated to Nikita and Nikita smiled with revenge right there in front of her, the revenge that she had been waiting for since the first time Operations told her to lose her petty humanity.

"Pull up the file Wolfe2Wolfe... You might find it interesting." Nikita stated and The eyes all turned to the screen and he pulled in a sharp sob.

"That's right... this man...Steven... isn't even your biological son." Nikita hissed out as she pushed the button to open the shields. Madeline looked to the guards as they entered and started to move him away, dejected and listless.

The attention was not were it was, except for Michael. Nikita's gun first dropped and then her entire body dropped to the floor. Michael raced to the center as the operatives pushed in and then spread apart.

"I need medical." Madeline ordered as Michael looked at Nikita's body and then the growing blood spot from where Nikita's hit the floor. Michael was trembling as he untied the rope from Nikita's body and set Steven free. He stood closer to Nikita and swallowed.

No one could say any words, as they looked onto the body that had stood firm to the tyrant that ran for years. It had stood firm through everything that had been questioned of it and now even some were questioning if it would stand firm ever again.

*

Michael looked around and pulled off his jacket and placed it underneath Nikita's head. He was sure that most of the medical personnel had come out to see what was happening, and hopelessly trying to help those operatives Nikita viciously killed, including the torture twins. He looked around as the blood continued from Nikita's head. No one else was helping him and he looked around in disgust. Here was the woman that saved all of their lives, not only once, but also probably twice. He pulled off his shirt, exposing his flesh and used the black material to place on Nikita's head.

"Where is medical?" Michael called out as he looked at Nikita. Everyone had to have a sense that she wasn't well off health wise when she entered. Michael looked down to Nikita's head as Walter pushed through and looked at the bothersome leg.

"I'm going to take this boot off... Can someone give me a knife?" Walter said as he looked at the ankle, and sighed. From around him, six knifes appeared and Walter grabbed one, knowing it would be better to cut the leather away. Michael looked at Walter and looked at the knee.

"She slammed a gun into her knee... trying to prove that she could give herself more pain than those two weird people with the glasses that she killed." Steven whispered, as he hovered not far from the two working men. Michael looked to Walter and then to the knee.

"The torture twins." Walter said as lifted his head and looked at Steven. He looked to the boot and then to the pants. The swelling in the knee was immense too, and could easily be relieved. Walter took the knife and ripped the pants open and turned his head as the sight.

"I would say that it is broken." Walter whispered out and Michael looked to the knee and swallowed as he stroked Nikita's hair back, noticing the blood staining her hair.

"Madeline... We have a problem!" Birkoff cried out over the crowd from the computer. Everyone stopped and looked towards Birkoff. Michael then noticed for the first time how close Madeline was to the action of him and Walter taking care of Nikita. It was almost eerie how quickly Madeline was drawn to Nikita, as Michael thought that she would have wanted to isolate herself from that whole plan Nikita had in order to reestablish a homeostasis inside of Section One.

"What is it?" Madeline said barely moving from her position. Birkoff looked around nervously and swallowed.

"We have orders from Oversight to return Nikita or to cancel her immediately." Birkoff said tensely and the intake of air occurred from everyone. Madeline looked down at the bones and skin that made Nikita and swallowed as Michael and Walter bore holes into her eyes.

"Nikita isn't going anywhere, Birkoff. Tell them she is going to medical and that we will discuss this later." Madeline said as she looked at Birkoff. Birkoff trembled as he sat back down to type the orders. Madeline leaned down and wrapped a hand around Nikita's wrist and looked at Michael. Her eyes were filled with compassion in a way that Michael never expected to see from Madeline, even with all the days and weeks they had spent together trying to figure out what Nikita was doing or going to do.

"She is exhausted, right?" Michael questioned and Madeline looked to Walter and swallowed.

"Where is medical? Do I have to start threatening cancellation?" Madeline called out from around her squatted down position without answering Michael's question. The operatives started to move around, and Madeline was sure that some would make sure the message quickly got to medical.

"It could be more, Michael..." Madeline softly said as she placed a hand on Nikita's neck to feel for the pulse there. She blinked her eyes a few times and then pulled her hand away as it was not too bad.

"Oversight won't stay out of this for long..." Walter quietly whispered, as there was still a huge crowd. Madeline looked around.

"Does this look like it involves all of you?" Madeline questioned the staring operatives. Some took the hint and moved, but most looked at Madeline, knowing that Nikita's existence did matter to them, and from Nikita, they all had gained life, in some weird way within Section One.

"I do see a bloody mess in the hallways.. And guns that need to be return. I suggest that it cleans itself immediately." Madeline said in a booming voice. The operatives dropped their heads and quickly moved. One being brave enough to pick up the gun that Nikita had in her hand. He opened it and looked at Michael.

"It had no bullets." The operative said and Madeline looked to Steven and swallowed. The knowledge that Steven was not related to Operations by blood came as a shock to everyone, even Operations.

"Just remove it." Madeline said and the operative scurried off. Madeline moved her hands down Nikita's body, finding nothing much more. She leaned back and stood up as Michael held the shirt to her head and looked into Nikita's face like it was going to make her open her eyes. Madeline knew that Nikita was going to need to sleep and to recover the weight that she had lost.

Madeline looked over her shoulder as the medical team finally arrived. Madeline waited as they tried to take over the situation entirely, someone trying to take Michael's hand off of Nikita's forehead and the shirt. Madeline looked at Michael's glazed eyes as the other medical person stabilized Nikita's leg with an air splint.

"Just give him a sterile pad. He can go down to medical with you." Madeline said and Michael lifted his head as the words shocked Michael to the core. No one was ever that nice in Section One. By now they should have pushed Michael out of the way and tended to the operative in the way they felt fit. Yet, Nikita was not just any operative.

"I have to go speak with Oversight. Walter, go down and make sure one of the first things done is that they remove the Oversight tracker." Madeline said and turned on her heels and walked over to the computer with Birkoff, and the area was uncharacteristically empty. Madeline watched as they loaded Nikita up on the stretcher and moved out of the area.

"Oversight isn't happy, Madeline." Birkoff whispered and Madeline smiled tenderly.

"That's their problem. I have to go tend to one other immediate problem before I worry about Oversight's threats." Madeline said as she turned with an evil glint on her eyes. Birkoff dropped his eyes and watched as Madeline headed to the white room.

*

It was not a pretty sight in the White Room, and Madeline expected that. In the over zealousness of some operatives, they walked in, and decided to dish out some punishment on Operations, while they had the chance. Madeline looked at the screen and a small smile crossed her face, as she knew he deserved this and so much more, and that wasn't even to the point of Nikita deserved to do to him.

"Paul." Madeline said as she stepped into the room and looked at him, strapped into the metal chair tightly. His legs were shackled twice, and he had a few slashes bleeding. Yet, none of that mattered.

"You underestimated Nikita and her power and that was the biggest mistake you have made... and have been making for years now. Before we discuss you, let me tell you what she has done in order to beat you in this little game you misnamed 'Cancel Nikita'. I think you need to go over this before you go to hell that you so much deserve to rot in." Madeline said sweetly as she rubbed her hands together in front of her lap, never losing her smile.

"I don't need to go over this." Paul spat out and Madeline looked around and smiled.

"You should be glad that Nikita personally cancelled the torture twins that would work you over... but, I can inflict more pain than they can on any day." Madeline said as she circled around him slowly. She knew he was listening to each sharp step as he was a smart man. She used her fingers and pulled his white hair back, stretching his neck out into the firm metal. She shook her own head and snapped his head down knowing that it wasn't going to give him the pain he deserved.

"She was working for me. I knew there was this splinter group and that they seemed to be after people related to Michel and Nikita. I made the suggestion to George that she was right to move to Oversight. I didn't realize that they would plan to kill her." Madeline said and she walked in front of Operations.

"She survived more than you did, Paul. They had her heart stopped for at least an hour or two, but you should know something about Nikita...." Madeline said and Operations rolled his eyes.

"She is stubborn." Operations spat out.

"She has many scars now from that. She learned about her sister, and it unlocked her childhood. Yes... Her childhood.. What you have been interesting in learning about for years... We know a lot of it now because of this little mission Nikita was on." Madeline said and Operations narrowed his eyes and tried to turn his head away. He did not want to admit it, but he did want to learn about her childhood. It was the only thing not known about Nikita's past and feelings.

"Then she went back on heroin, to save the other woman.. Elena... Yes, Michael's wife... Brave on her part." Madeline said and she shook her head. She was being too kind and she had to bring it to a stop. She pulled the gun out and aimed it towards his head.

"You won't do it, Madeline. Think about Isabelle." Operations said and Madeline nodded her head and dropped the gun to her side. She moved backwards and licked her lips. Madeline had mixed feelings and swallowed.

"Let's talk about Isabelle..." Madeline slowly drawled out as she moved back to look in Operations' eyes. She sadly smiled and then lifted her head.

"You should have accessed your medical files." Madeline stated and Operations' lifted his eyes and stared at Madeline. She could see the fear running through his eyes and she smirked lightly.

"What do you mean, Madeline?" Operations hissed out and Madeline looked at the gun and smiled again.

"What I mean is that, Steven isn't the only person that has wrongly been identified as your child." Madeline coldly stated and Operations felt as if his heart had stopped there, as if Madeline had pierced him with a long wooden stake and twisted it around seven times for some fun.

"What do you mean?" Operations asked and Madeline leaned down and looked into his odd colored eyes. She saw the pain and the hurt inside the man. She blinked and pushed those thoughts away.

"I mean.... It wasn't one of your swimmers that penetrated my egg.... In fact... you don't have swimmers." Madeline said and Operations felt what was left of his color in his face drain. Madeline stepped back and rolled her shoulders back.

"I have known for years... But I needed to protect my baby.... Paul.. You are sterile." Madeline said and she leveled the gun to his head.

"No... Isabelle... No, Madeline.. You need me..." Operations said and Madeline shook her head and pulled the trigger, and Operations head dropped forward after it hit the metal chair in the back. She moved forward and blinked back the tears as she looked at the hole between his eyes. Madeline pressed her trembling hand over his eyes and shut them as she dropped the gun into his lap.

"I couldn't let you believe that you did something right..." Madeline whispered, as she knew the utter truth. She wanted him to hurt as much as he could in those last seconds. To cut off the belief that he had an offspring somewhere, gave him the emptiest feeling one could have. Madeline turned her head away and blinked back the tears.

"Isabelle is best to... never know her father... because what he became was a monster... that recruited and destroyed innocents..." Madeline whispered as she leaned her head down and kissed the top of his blonde hair. She shouldn't be wasting her time, but she needed to spend a few more moments on this chapter of her life.

"She will be everything that you use to be.... That caring man.. That I knew you once were... and you were when you spared her life... That is all that came from you..." Madeline said and she sighed as she looked around the room.

"But I won't miss you. You did too much damage to those you hurt. Now, I have the job of putting it back together again." Madeline said as she picked up the gun and left the white room, never to look back and never to regret what she just did.

There was a change in the atmosphere in the hallways as Madeline moved from one to another. The regular hallways seemed almost light, as the cleanup still continued. Madeline wanted to know how much firepower Nikita brought in with her, but it was best that the entire conversation dropped.

Madeline had just spent two hours arguing with the powers that be in Oversight about Nikita. They claimed that she needed to be dealt with, since she knew too much about Section One. They tried to tell Madeline that she had two options, turn Nikita back to Oversight, or to cancel her. Madeline did not even blink her eyes as she looked at the three men. She solidly responded that there were other options, but that Nikita was not a danger for the time being, as she was severely injured. Madeline knew that the conversations would continue, but for the sake of Section One, she needed Nikita to stay with them. For Nikita to be handed over to Oversight now would make for another rebellion in Section One, and that could be dangerous for Oversight and the rest of the world.

Madeline entered the medical area and saw the change. Those who really mattered to Nikita were pacing about, all except Michael. Madeline had learned that he even demanded to be taken into the operation room while they did repair work to her ankle and knee, both, which had multiple fractures in them. Madeline wouldn't have expected anything less from Michael at this point.

Madeline realized that Michael must have also been worried about Nikita's mental state. Madeline wasn't sure where it was either, but knew it was going to be a difficult path back for Nikita. Madeline looked into the room and sighed as she looked at Michael leaning over the bed, touching Nikita's head softly.

"Madeline... I wanted to tell Michael... Karin just came out of her coma..." Walter whispered as he walked up to Madeline. Madeline smiled and nodded her head. That was good news, that she wasn't going to have to worry about that either. She lifted a few things from her wallet and turned to Walter.

"Nikita is going to be out for little bit.. I want you to take care of Elena and Adam. I want you to send them something from Nikita... for the foundation that she had Elena set up.... So she thinks that Nikita is fine." Madeline said and Walter nodded his head as he looked at the DVD disk Madeline handed to him.

Madeline sighed and moved into the room. She quickly looked at Michael as he lifted his head. She could have lifted Nikita's file, but she was probably sure that Michael knew more about what was going on than the chart would provide her with. Nikita's leg was in a cast from hip to toe, and it was hanging up in the air. She was very pale in the face and Michael was holding her hand.

"How is she?" Madeline softly questioned and Michael stroked Nikita's hand softly with the pads of his fingers. Michael looked at Madeline and licked his dried lips slowly, as he tried to figure out what words to use.

"She woke up briefly... we didn't understand what she was saying.... She is physically exhausted... she weights about 90 pounds now... as you can tell her leg is one broken bone after another..." Michael said tensely with a broken voice and Madeline swallowed. She knew Nikita was suffering from the lack of nutrients and had lost an extreme amount of weight.

"Don't worry, Michael..." Madeline stated and Michael lifted his head more forcefully and looked into Madeline's eyes.

"Didn't you look into her eyes when it was all occurring? You saw it... she was a raging animal... with no control. How do you think she is going to be mentally?" Michael said and Madeline dropped her head. She knew the gesture told Michael that she did see her eyes.

"Some of that may have been caused by the lost of weight Michael, and we know that the memories of her childhood are coming back... none of that is easy on the psyche, Michael." Madeline said without lifting her head. She saw Michael move his hand from Nikita's hand to her cheek. Madeline felt guilty for starting this now, when Nikita really just needed Michael's love.

"I want you to know that Karin is responding." Madeline said softly and Michael lifted his head and nodded it. It brought him back to something positive.

"So Karin is going to be fine?" Michael whispered out and Michael jumped as Nikita's head bobbed up.

"What is wrong with Karin?" Nikita demanded quickly as her heartbeat started to race. Michael's and Madeline's attention turned to Nikita. Michael's hand brushed Nikita's cheek again.

"Karin was in an accident.. But she is fine." Michael said and Nikita looked around and blinked her eyes as the tears flowed from her face.

"The baby?" Nikita asked out in a trembling voice. Madeline touched Nikita's other hand and smiled gently.

"She is a healthy six months pregnant, Nikita." Madeline said and Nikita nodded her head and her eyes fluttered close. Madeline waited and looked at Michael. She stepped away from the bed and motioned Michael to the back of the room.

"We may have some problems..." Madeline whispered out and Michael looked at her and shook his head. He knew that there would be some sort of backlash from everything that happened. He didn't want to think about them, because Nikita was so fragile now. Yet, he was worried as he looked at Madeline's face.

"Operations?" Michael questioned and Madeline shook her head with a sad smile.

"He is dead, Michael." Madeline tautly said and Michael nodded his head. His heart wanted to think that, but he was still in Section One, and he still had to know that anything was possible. Madeline looked to the window and then back to the bed with Nikita.

"Oversight wants her back, Michael.... Or for her to be cancelled." Madeline said and she dropped her head.

"WHAT!" Nikita cried out from the bedside, as she struggled to sit up. Madeline shook her head as she saw Nikita working herself up. It was fear in Nikita's eyes as the tears rolled down her eyes.

"NO! I did what I was suppose too! I destroyed myself for Section.. And NOW I AM GOING TO DIE!" Nikita screamed out and Michael moved to her bedside shaking his head, trying to calm her down. Madeline looked to the door as Walter and Birkoff entered, with Steven not far behind. Madeline blinked her eyes and moved to the bed.

"No, Nikita... we are going to solve this... We have to worry about getting you healthy again." Michael said and Nikita nervously shook her head as she looked around her.

"There is nothing left of me to save.... I took drugs again...HEROIN!!!... I killed like Operations has always wanted me to.. Ruthlessly.... I know... what my.. my.. my.. Mom... did to me..." Nikita cried out as Walter reached out and took Nikita's hand in his hand. He squeezed it and looked at Madeline.

"We aren't going to let that happen, Nikita.. You mean a lot... to us... to me." Michael said and Nikita looked at Michael.

"Why would you care? Do you know what my mom did to me? I must have always been meant to be a killer!" Nikita screamed out as she started to struggle in the bed. Michael pushed at her shoulders.

"Look, sugar.. That doesn't matter now.. What matters is you." Walter said deeply as she looked into Michael's eyes.

"I let Michael down..... I had a baby.. And I let her kill it.. I let her... put that.. that.. thing.. in.. And there was pain.. I killed my baby... NO! GET OUT!" Nikita screamed as she pulled her hands from the two men's hands away and Madeline moved to the bed. She looked at Nikita with a stern look.

"We aren't leaving Nikita. We are going to support you and make this right, no matter what you say." Madeline said and Nikita shook her head as she wished she could curl up in a ball. Michael looked to Madeline, as the horrid truth from her childhood was out for everyone to hear.

"I asked you to do the inhumane... and I am going to give it all back to you, Nikita. I promise." Madeline said as a doctor walked in. Madeline nodded her head as she took the syringe. Nikita needed to sleep and everyone in the room knew it. Nikita looked at it with tears in her eyes.

"I will be here, Nikita.. I'm not leaving." Michael stated and Madeline moved over and pushed the liquid into the IV port. Nikita dropped her head in tears and kept her eyes closed. Madeline motioned everyone out of the room. Michael stood there and Madeline looked at him. She moved to the door and turned the lights off, perhaps knowing that Michael was the one that could save Nikita for the time being, but when it came down to it, it was going to be a group effort.

Madeline opened the door and walked out into the hallways of Section One. Her Section One. Things were going to change, but it would not take long. She needed to fill the empty spots caused by Nikita's massacre of Operations followers and she needed to take out the splinter group. Madeline walked down the hallway, knowing that if push came to shove, she was ready to take out Oversight if she needed too.
