"Anna's Therapist"

Nikita walked down the hallway by herself. It was a rare moment for Nikita, as it seemed as if Michael had become attached to her side during their grueling nine missions. Nikita knew that George was trying to make them as easy as possible on Nikita, but anything that meant that Nikita had to get up off the couch, was too much. She just wasn't feeling good at all, and still, she was avoiding all medical staff like they contained the plague.

Nikita turned the corner to return some equipment when she heard something like a knife dropping behind some of the racks of equipment. Nikita turned her head and walked past the Walter-want-to-be and looked at the shelves.

Nikita saw the blonde hair first and then the blood. Nikita turned her head as she instantly dropped down to grab for the girl.

"ANNA!" Nikita exclaimed and she heard the footsteps behind her. Nikita turned her head and looked down the hallway.

"Get medical!" Nikita shouted as she pulled at the bottom of her skirt to wrap it around Anna's wrist and looked at the crying young girl.

"Why?" Nikita whispered and Anna turned her head away from Nikita. Nikita now resorted to trembling as she waited. She turned her head to see the running medical staff, with Elana in the lead and Nikita rolled her eyes. The Walter-want-to-be thought Nikita needed medical for herself.

"Nikita, are you ok?" Elana asked as she started towards Nikita, and she stopped as she looked down and found Nikita holding tightly onto Anna's wrist with her skirt soaking up the blood.

"I HATE YOU NIKITA!" Anna spat out as Elana took a large packet of gauze and took over the task of holding Anna's wrist. Nikita reached out for an operative to help her to stand up as the gurney was pushed down into the area.

"Anna…" Nikita whispered, not sure where this anger was coming from Anna. Nikita shook her head, as Elana had to struggle to get Anna onto the gurney.

"Go and run and tell Daddy for me!" Anna hissed out and Nikita watched as the medical staff took over for Elana. Nikita rolled her head back and jumped when Elana reached out for Nikita's arm.

"Are you ok?" Elana asked and Nikita nodded her head.

"I was just thinking about telling Madeline." Nikita whispered and Elana blinked her eyes and looked around.

"I can send someone else." Elana offered and Nikita frowned firmly. Nikita rubbed her hand through her hair and stopped as she saw that she had just stretched blood through it. Nikita looked at Elana as she waited for her own heart to stop racing.

"Nikita, I am concerned for you." Elana said and Nikita shook her head and smiled.

"I have one more mission, Elana. And then I'm gone." Nikita said as she pushed down the hallway and Elana frowned. Nikita looked tired and Elana just wanted to examine her, the right way and to get it done quickly. Elana knew the risks that any pregnant operative went through, and with all the problems that Nikita had gone through all ready with this pregnancy, Elana did not want to risk anything else to chance.

Elana watched as Nikita hobbled down the hallway as she found herself determined to find out what Nikita's last mission would be and determined to talk Michael into seeking a week away. If Elana could get Michael to think that it was good to get Nikita away from Section One for a week, Elana could say that she would not allow it until she had a full physical exam of Nikita. Elana was sure that a week away from Section One might be the motivation for Nikita to allow the exam.

*************

Nikita walked down the hallway, with the streaks of Anna's blood drying in her hair quickly. Nikita rubbed her hands together, forgetting also that they were covered in blood. Nikita stepped towards the door and pushed the code, losing all track in her mind other than she had to find a way to tell Madeline.

Nikita stepped down as the door opened and looked at Madeline as she evaluated the look on Nikita. Not only was Nikita pale, Madeline noticed the blood on Nikita's body and stood up.

"Nikita, what is going on?" Madeline said as she rushed to Nikita's side. Nikita licked her lips as she noticed that the blood did not come from Nikita. Nikita shook her head as she pushed Madeline's hands off of her.

"I think you need to sit down, Madeline." Nikita whispered out and Madeline narrowed her eyes as she watched Nikita hobble back and forth. Madeline placed a hand on her waist and stared at Nikita.

"You just came in from a mission, Nikita. I think you are the one that needs to sit down, calm down, and tell me why you have blood all over you." Madeline demanded and Nikita looked to Madeline and the tears exploded from her eyes. Madeline blinked and looked at Nikita as she tried to gain control over her emotions.

"Anna did something, Madeline." Nikita started out and Madeline sat down immediately as she looked at Nikita. Nikita dropped her head and then ran a fingertip over her trembling, tear dampened lips.

"She slit her wrist in the weapons bay." Nikita said and Madeline stood up and moved to the computer. She flicked through the screens as Nikita moved to the wall and braced herself as she could not stop feeling guilty.

"Nikita…" Madeline said as she viewed that Anna was in good hands for the time being. It was Nikita who was worrying Madeline at the moment.

"I should have known. I have neglected her." Nikita commented before she turned to view Madeline in the eyes.

"Do you know that while I held her wrist… stopping the blood… she screamed that she hated me." Nikita commented and Madeline pressed her lips together.

"I didn't know I was hurting her, Madeline." Nikita whispered out and Madeline shook her head as she pushed Nikita's hair out of her face.

"You aren't, Nikita. We both know why this occurred." Madeline said and Nikita dropped her head, allowing the same strands of hair that had been pushed back by Madeline to fall back into her face.

"Operations." Nikita stated and she started to stroke her stomach softly. Madeline could see the endless questions of doubt in Nikita's mind.

"I am her sister… I should have seen this…… I have always been protective of her…. And what if the same thing happens to my child…." Nikita cried out and Madeline sighed. She had her own pain in Anna's actions, but Madeline could only help the child that was sitting in her office, fretting over her impending child.

"Nikita, you are going to be fine. For now, I am going to take you back to Michael, so he can clean you up. I don't want you to worry about Anna. I will find a way to help her." Madeline said and Nikita shook her head as Madeline tried to direct her out of the office.

"I should have protected her. I know what Operations does to his kids. I should have seen this. I should have." Nikita cried out softly and Madeline kissed each cheek.

"Knowing that does not take the pressure or hurt off of you, Nikita." Madeline whispered as she rubbed Nikita's stomach softly, as it was a concern of Madeline's that Nikita would unexpectantly go into labor due to emotions. That was the biggest concern on Madeline's mind but she felt that everything was calm.

"Come on. You need a shower." Madeline whispered as they stepped out of the office. Nikita looked around and turned to Madeline.

"I can go myself. You need to get to Anna." Nikita stated and Madeline looked at Nikita with worry on her face.

"It isn't going to take me long…." Madeline said and Nikita shook her head from side to side.

"I'm fine, Madeline." Nikita said and Madeline smiled and again, kissed both cheeks.

"No, Nikita. You are a wonderful soul. You did Operations and me the best thing, and saved our daughter. Thank you." Madeline said as she allowed her fingers to linger on Nikita's cheek before turning to go to Medlab.

*************

Birkoff looked up from his computer and saw Nikita idly walking down the hallway, still with the blood streaking in her hand, covering her hands, and on her skirt. Birkoff paused and looked back down to his computer, figuring that Nikita was just drained and working her way to the office she shared with Michael.

He worked a few more minutes and raised his head again, as he noticed he did not hear the office door open nor close. He turned and saw Nikita running her blood covered finger against the wall, as she had already past the office. Birkoff knew that Anna had slit her wrist and that Nikita had found her, and although the injury had not been as life threatening as everyone had assumed, definitely, Nikita helped Anna. Birkoff stood up, even though he had not talked to Nikita since they had dinner together, because of Lori.

"Nikita…. Anna's going to be fine." Birkoff said and Nikita turned around and looked at Birkoff and then lifted her head.

"What kind of world is this, that a seven year old finds the need to slit her wrist?" Nikita softly whispered and Birkoff shuttered. He was not going to let Nikita know that inside Section One, they had a one hundred percent ratio of operatives that tried to commit suicide in some way or form. Sometimes it ran from not wearing a vest to placing the gun to the head. What were even scarier was that most of the operatives stopped, and that the suicide rates were almost lower than in other populations of the world.

"Nikita, I don't have the answers…. But you are a mess." Birkoff replied and Nikita turned her head to look at the ceiling again as if she did not want to think anymore. Birkoff again bite his tongue, as he did not want to mention to Nikita that she looked bad, worn down, that she should check herself into Medlab.

"I just have to think, Birkoff." Nikita said softly and Birkoff looked around and moved away. He should go back to the check the Intel on the pending mission again, but he looked at Nikita as she was now turning in small circles. Birkoff stopped and knocked on the office door. It snapped open quickly, as if Michael was waiting for Nikita to arrive. Birkoff stepped away from the door and looked down the hallway to Nikita.

Michael nodded his head and leaned against the wall as he pushed his hands through his hair. Michael swallowed as Nikita's face seemed to look directly at him, and she just continued to turn in the circle.

"Nikita." Michael said firmly and she turned and looked at him. She moved towards him as the tears now slipped from her eyes again. Michael reached out and tightly embraced Nikita as well as he could, with Nikita's stomach holding him away from her. He started to move her into the office.

"Nikita, she is going to be fine." Michael whispered as he remembered seeing the videotape as soon as he heard what had occurred. Michael was sure that Nikita had gone to Madeline, and Michael had the horror of watching Operations dash down the hallways in ways Michael was sure he would never see again.

"Why?" Nikita questioned and Michael shook his head. Although he had formulated some answers to that question, he was sure that the only person who knew that answer was Anna.

"Nikita, we'll find out in time. Why don't you get cleaned, I have to get the preliminary profile for our last mission." Michael said and Nikita pulled her head up at that mention. She had almost forgot that she had one more mission, and Michael saw that Nikita's tears continued.

"Nikita, please, one more mission, and that's it. We can concentrate on the baby…" Michael said and Nikita forced out a smile.

"Yeah, maybe we can finally narrow the boy name down. I don't think the combinations worked." Nikita said with a smile and Michael nodded his head.

"I didn't like the names Evnar… and Ranier… and Evier…" Michael commented and Nikita smiled softly.

"I still like Roy." Nikita commented and Michael shook his head and Nikita looked to her hands and her bottom lip began to tremble.

"Just think about the baby, Nikita….. We'll see how Anna is doing soon enough." Michael said and Nikita took Michael's hand tightly into hers.

"That's the problem. I keep on thinking if I am going to cause our baby to do the same thing…" Nikita cried out and Michael kissed her head softly.

"It won't. We aren't as screwed up as Operations." Michael commented and moved to the door. He had heard rumors about this mission that he needed to clear up immediately.

*************

Nikita carefully pulled at her hair, placing it in a high ponytail, as the door to Medlab slide open. She looked around and slowly moved into the area. She saw Madeline and Operations huddled in a room that she knew Anna was in. She dropped her head and motioned to a nurse.

"Are you feeling all right, Nikita? Elana is with Anna, but I can go get her." The nurse said and Nikita smiled and looked around.

"I'm fine. How is Anna?" Nikita questioned and the nurse turned her head and looked to the room that Nikita's attention had not been pulled from yet.

"She is fine, Nikita." The nurse said and Nikita shook her head and held onto the nurse's arm tightly.

"She tried to kill herself, she isn't fine." Nikita stated and the nurse pressed her lips together.

"We deal with the medical down here, Nikita. The psychological is handled by Madeline, and that is going to be the problem." The nurse said and turned away from Nikita quickly.

Nikita was rubbing her chin with the palm of her hand as the doors behind her slid open again. Michael looked at Nikita, and in some ways, when she wore her hair up in that high ponytail, she seemed so young and innocent. Michael moved forward after tucking the PDA into his pocket and rubbed Nikita's shoulders.

"I told you to get some rest." Michael whispered and Nikita turned and dropped her head.

"I am sorry, Michael." Nikita stated and headed towards the door. Michael looked to the room as Madeline turned her head. Michael was sure that Madeline knew that both of them were there when she turned her head back to Operations.

Michael turned and walked behind Nikita, stopping her from walking all the way to the office. He took her hand and led her to one of the workout rooms.

"Why are we here? Is our office not secure anymore?" Nikita questioned and Michael turned and handed the PDA to Nikita carefully. He had almost fainted when he saw the profile, but he was sure that Nikita would be doing some yelling and screaming. That was why Michael had taken Nikita away from their office.

Nikita looked at the PDA and gasped. Instantly, she knew it was not a profile from George, it was too hard and Nikita started to cry.

They were to become Paris and France again, which was risky at best to do. The terrorists weren't all stupid, and had by now connected Paris and France to a group that was taking them out. Maybe they didn't know it was Section One, but they knew that Paris and France were dangerous.

"He is exposing me…. Where is the percentages on this mission going hot?" Nikita questioned Michael, as she knew that it was a mission that would leave her without the body armor that she should have on.

"They are classified. I can't get them." Michael stated and Nikita closed her eyes and looked at Michael.

"But we don't have to dance. The profile said nothing about that." Nikita said and Michael felt his chest tightening up.

"It is a preliminary profile Nikita. We are to be guest judges, but recently we got electronic mail saying that the guest judges are expected to dance in order to get paid. If we don't dance, we call more attention to ourselves.

"The baby, Michael. I can't." Nikita begged out and Michael nodded his head, but he knew that the mission had been locked. There was no way out of it now, and Michael could kill Operations at this moment.

"We have too. It's our last mission. I won't let anything happen to you or the baby, Nikita." Michael promised as he turned to the radio. Nikita shook her head as she heard the music that Michael had selected.

"My feet can't move that fast, Michael. I can't move that fast." Nikita said and Michael dropped his head.

"Then I will change the music, Nikita. Operations did this on purpose. I am sure you are aware." Michael said and Nikita sighed and bit her lip. If she had the energy, and if Anna had just not tried to kill herself, Nikita would have been off to visit Operations herself.

"This might be it, Michael. You do know the odds on the baby pool. 154 to 1 that I give birth in the field." Nikita stated harshly as she carefully and awkwardly sat down.

************

Nikita walked into Medlab with a tight feeling around her chest. She felt bad, but she was not going to tell Michael that. She had it figured out. She felt that way because she didn't know about Anna, and now she was going to find out.

Michael had told Nikita to take a good half-hour break from the slow song routine they had started to work on. Nikita was exhausted as she walked deeper into Medlab. She shakily pushed a hand through the few strands of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail.

Nikita saw that Anna was staring at the television in her room without Madeline and Operations around. Nikita knocked on the door and entered softly.

"How are you feeling?" Nikita questioned softly and Anna looked at Nikita and turned her head away.

"I hate you. Go away." Anna replied sharply and Nikita swallowed and continued to move closer to Anna. She couldn't believe this was the same little girl that she helped deliver.

"Anna, please… I am worried about you and I would do anything to make you better." Nikita stated slowly as she reached the railing of Anna's bedside.

"Then kill me, Nikita." Anna stated and Nikita opened her eyes in shock and stepped back.

"No, you don't know what you want. Life is too important, Anna." Nikita stated as she reached for the wall as the world began to spin.

"I don't care what you think of the world, Nikita! My father is stupid! I HATE HIM! I WISH HE WOULD DIE!" Anna screamed out and Nikita continued to shake her head, even if it made her world spin faster. She needed to reach out to Anna. She couldn't let this little girl, her half-sister, lose her soul now, before she even reached the double digits of her life.

"Anna… I don't like our father all the time either…. But never wish anyone dead." Nikita stated and she trembled.

"HE IS MY DAD! NOT YOURS! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! You are my Aunt Nikita!" Anna cried out as Nikita grasped to the wall tighter. She could not maintain the balance of the room, and she was about to fall when four arms firmly grabbed Nikita.

"Ok, Nikita.. .Sit down real slow." Elana directed as she pulled a wheel chair behind Nikita. Nikita allowed them to lower her to the wheel chair and she tried to view that had helped her down. Elana started to push Nikita away from Anna's room.

"I'm fine…" Nikita said as Elana pulled at the blood pressure cuff as the tears poured out of Nikita's eyes.

"No, you aren't. I saw the profile for you. I objected but no one listened. Now, you almost fainted Nikita." Elana said as she pumped up the cuff. Nikita was about to protest when Elana pressed several fingers to her lips and waited.

Elana allowed the air out of the cuff and looked at Nikita firmly. Nikita didn't like the look in her eyes.

"Your blood pressure is high, Nikita. We need for it to come down. High blood pressure does not help the baby." Elana said and Nikita continued to cry.

"Does she really think that I am only her aunt?" Nikita questioned and Elana sighed and dropped the small metal chart to the table off from the wheel chair she had yet to move Nikita from.

"Nikita, I cannot answer that." Elana sighed out and Nikita growled almost.

"Now, growling is only going to make that blood pressure to stay high, Nikita." Elana said as she reached her hand out for Nikita's stomach, but Nikita swat it away.

Elana sighed and walked out of the room. She pulled up the phone and started to call those who would know the answers to Nikita's questions. Anything to get Nikita's blood pressure down.

*************

Madeline walked into the room and noted Nikita's pale face. Madeline did not want Nikita to go out on that next mission, but she knew that Nikita had too. Unless Nikita's water broke in the next few hours, Nikita was going out. Nikita titled her head to the side and looked at Madeline.

"Anna needs help, Madeline." Nikita stated and Madeline sighed at the statement. She moved to Nikita and looked at Elana and rolled her eyes.

"If I talk about Anna, will that calm you down?" Madeline questioned and Nikita carefully shook her head up and down, but Madeline was almost worried that it wouldn't help Nikita at all.

"Nikita…" Madeline warned softly and she tilted her head to the side as Michael walked in the room. Nikita closed her eyes softly and started to control her air carefully. After a few deep breaths Nikita looked at Elana and smiled.

"Will you check the blood pressure now?" Nikita softly asked and Elana looked at Madeline and Michael both before doing as Nikita had requested. She swallowed and pumped up the cuff and took the blood pressure in silence.

"Its back down. Yet, still on the high side of normal." Elana said as she looked at Nikita with an eye of worry. She glanced at Nikita's hands and frowned. She shouldn't be going out in the field, but as always, Nikita was physically fit.

"Madeline, it will still help Nikita focus if she knows what is going on with Anna. Maybe she can help you." Michael whispered and Madeline stepped forward and took Nikita's hand softly.

"My, you are swelling. We'll get you an easier gun to work with…." Madeline said and Nikita looked at Madeline and frowned.

"I'm exposed in the mission. There won't be a gun on me." Nikita stated and Madeline looked at Michael and he quickly left the room. Madeline swallowed and looked to Nikita.

"Her problem is with Operations, Nikita. She feels as if she means nothing." Madeline said and Nikita looked at Madeline and shook her head.

"She can have all the attention Operations is giving me. I don't want it." Nikita commented smartly and Madeline sighed and frowned.

"We are looking outside of Section One to find a therapist for her." Madeline said and Nikita started to shake her head violently.

"So you are going to take an innocent therapist and recruit them!" Nikita cried out and Madeline looked at Nikita and sighed.

"Everyone else has been greatly influenced by one of us or has is personally linked to this, Nikita." Madeline said as Nikita turned her head and pulled the blood pressure cuff and threw it to the ground.

"I can't help my daughter… Ayn definitely can't… and for some reason I don't know… you can't because Anna has suddenly switched her feelings on you, Nikita." Madeline said as she informed Nikita of the situation. Nikita looked at Madeline and licked her lips.

"What about Ida?" Nikita questioned softly and Madeline blinked her eyes and looked to the floor.

"She is still a recruit, Nikita. She may not make it through the recruitment. Then what do we do?" Madeline questioned and Nikita blinked her eyes.

"You have rules that can be bent, Madeline." Nikita commented as she stood up and looked at Madeline. Nikita's stomach growled and Nikita laughed.

"I guess I should get food before I go back to the dance." Nikita commented and Madeline grabbed her hand.

"You aren't. You and Michael can make it as you go." Madeline said and Nikita looked to Madeline.

"She is the perfect person. She knows things, and you don't have to explain. It makes it easier to get to the issue…. And that is best for a child." Nikita commented and walked out of the room quickly.

************

Anna looked up at the woman and turned her head. Ida dropped her head and looked at Anna.

"Fine, if you don't want to talk, I'll leave. They'll just keep you here an extra week. That's no problem to me." Ida said as she snapped to walk out of the room. She stopped as she could see Anna reached out for her, even though her back was to Anna.

"I can't stop with an outstretched hand that I can't see. You are going to have to speak up." Ida commented as she stared at the hallway and smiled. This was going easier than she thought it would have.

"Please." Anna moaned out and Ida turned and nodded her head. Anna looked at Ida, scared to say what she was thinking. She wanted to know how Ida knew.

"Anna, just take it that I know things about you as you think it…. Sometimes before you think or do it too." Ida said and Anna swallowed and looked at Ida. In those few moments, Ida saw the challenge that Anna was going to issue and she dropped her head, hoping that she would get more out of this than to prove to Anna that she could trust her.

"You have put yourself in a tight spot. It has to be your mixed up family." Ida said as she sat down on the edge of the bed. Anna wrinkled her eyes.

"Don't talk bad about my family!" Anna snarled out and Ida tried not to smile so broadly.

"I know it must be difficult… Nikita being your half-sister… but you see her as an aunt….. And then there…" Ida said and Anna grabbed at Ida's hand tightly.

"Nikita is my aunt." Anna said and Ida nodded her head and then looked to Anna.

"Have you ever told her that?" Ida asked and Anna shook her head and Ida nodded her head.

"Then that is the second thing that you have to tell her." Ida informed Anna and again, Ida watched Anna wrinkle her nose up. Ida knew before Madeline even approached her about Anna, that the child had slit her wrist for attention and not to kill herself. Ida was sure that Madeline, Nikita, and Ayn knew that also.

"What's the first?" Anna whispered out and Ida reached out and took Anna's hand into hers.

"I think you know that answer." Ida whispered and Anna dropped her head as the tears dropped from her eyes.

"To thank her for helping me." Anna replied softly, finally sounding like the seven-year-old she was. Ida nodded her head and stood up.

"How do I know you are telling me the truth?" Anna challenged and Ida smiled.

"I know you heard that rumor.. About Nikita and the baby…." Ida whispered and Anna almost smiled at the mention of the baby.

"That is she is going to have it today…." Anna replied and Ida nodded her head. She knew enough to know that the rumor was wrong. She was disappointed that she could not tell when the baby would be born, but she had enough sense to know that some people were going to be very rich when the baby came.

"She won't be having it today." Ida replied and walked out of the room. She walked away from Anna's room, letting her think. That was when Ida saw Nikita and almost regretted on saying the comment. Nikita looked back, but Ida looked at the outfit, and tried to blame it on that.

"I can't believe they are making you wear that." Ida commented and Nikita rolled her eyes as she held up a pair of high heels.

"They are. It's too short… it's too tight… and I feel like I am going to explode…. Plus.. I'm getting big elsewhere…" Nikita commented and Ida smiled. Oh the pains of motherhood.

Nikita looked around and lifted her eyes to Ida. Ida knew the questions that Nikita were asking in her mind and they played out on her eyes. Ida smiled softly as she took Nikita's hands.

"To answer your questions… Anna is going to be fine… And you should do anything to protect yourself, Nikita. Shield yourself." Ida said and Nikita nodded her head. Nikita had threatened Birkoff into telling her the percentages of the mission going hot. Nikita did not like the response that it was most likely a 98 percent chance going to go hot. Nikita also found out that she would have no gun.

"Nikita… shield yourself." Ida whispered as Michael appeared at the doorway. Elana unwrapped the blood pressure cuff from her arm and sighed.

"It is still high. I am going to have a talk with Operations." Elana said and Nikita rolled her eyes and grabbed the chart.

"It's on the high side of normal… but still normal." Nikita stated and walked out quickly. Elana looked at Ida and sighed.

***********

Nikita looked around the hall as she walked next to Michael. He knew that she was uncomfortable and they waited in the line, Nikita knew she was being watched more that she ever wanted to be. The only dress that Madeline and Operations agreed upon was a tight red number that highlighted her huge stomach and the swollen state of her entire body.

Michael turned his head and kissed Nikita's neck softly. Nikita turned and smiled at Michael with a crisp smile. He saw other operatives walking about as waiters and knew that the percentage of this mission going hot had to be almost a positive thing.

"Paris and France, my, it looks like your act continues itself into the bedroom." The man at the table said as he reached out to pat Nikita's stomach. Nikita slapped the hand and glared at Michael. Michael leaned down and kissed Nikita's stomach.

"That's my property. I get very possessive." Michael said deeply as he moved closer to Nikita. Nikita looked to Michael and forced a smile out.

"So we now know that you two need the extra money…. Where is your tape?" the man asked and Michael snapped the tape out and handed it to the man. Nikita swallowed and looked to Michael.

"Where is the bathroom?" Nikita questioned and the man nodded his head to the corner. Nikita grabbed Michael's hand and hurried in that direction. Michael waited until Nikita emerged, looking very bad. Michael looked at her and saw the clear coat of water around Nikita's mouth.

"What happened?" Michael questioned and Nikita smiled and looked at Michael.

"Let's get our seats." Nikita said as she snapped up the official judge badge and walked to the main table.

*************

Nikita looked at Michael as she was staring to feel disconnected with her body. Michael looked at her and then stopped as the target arrived sooner than planned. Michael was happy, as they might be able to make their escape before having to dance.

"Team One move in." Michael whispered as the announcer moved over to the head table. Nikita smiled at Michael, as she knew they were being asked to dance. Nikita stood up and took Michael's hand, both of them realizing all hell was going to break loose any second.

The waiters surrounded the target and started to move in. The guns were drawn, and Nikita flinched as the gun battle started. The hall was stormed, with more men that weren't of Section.

"We are outnumbered." Michael growled as he pulled his gun out, and pushed Nikita behind him. Though, it the rush that had started, Nikita got separated from Michael. She stumbled around and saw the Section operative in front of her get shot in the head. She looked and grabbed the gun. Her finger felt so huge in the small gun. Nikita looked as the guards pointed towards her. She pulled the dead operative up and placed his body in front of her stomach and vital areas.

"NIKITA!" Michael growled off to the left, which he had, with other operatives had secured an egress point. Nikita pulled the man with her, keeping him as shield. She felt the bullets hitting the man's vest, and with that, it protected Nikita.

"Nikita… leave him…" Michael hissed and Nikita stared at him as she tried to make her way around. She was not going to leave her shield. The words of Ida's echoed in her mind, about the shield. Nikita now had it, and although she was sure that she would have nightmares of using this dead operative's body as a shield for her own body, it protected her life.

Nikita felt Michael's hands on her back and that was when she dropped the body. Michael had realized quickly the real use of the man's body. As quickly as possible the operatives moved around Michael and Nikita to make the retreat.

Nikita struggled with the mad dash and Michael knew that. He tried to get the operatives to slow down, as Nikita continued to stumble.

"Move the vans up." Michael hissed and he waited as they started down a set of stairs. Michael knew that Nikita had been avoiding stairs at all cost.

"I can't." Birkoff hissed and Michael swallowed his shout and cry with his voice of rage and power.

"If you want to live Birkoff, DO IT!" Michael said and he turned to help Nikita.

*************

Anna looked out to the busy room across the hallway. There were many people waiting in there, including her mother. Soon, Anna saw who was taken into the room. Anna slid out of her head and walked to her doorway.

"Please… I am fine…" Nikita hissed out as Michael firmly pushed her down onto the bed with his hands on her shoulders. Elana wrapped the blood pressure cuff around Nikita's arm and started to pump the cuff up. Anna hated that part most of all, because it was always so tightly, but Nikita's tears worried her.

"I didn't want to use his body…" Nikita murmured out and Elana tried to listen for the racing heartbeat and pulled the cuff off.

"Nikita, you need to calm down." Elana said as she started to pull on the latex gloves. Anna looked around as she could see the panic on Nikita's eyes.

"Nikita, we can't let you go until we examine you. We cannot have you having this child while you are gone." Madeline said tensely as Nikita tried to struggle against the metal stirrups. Nikita looked to Michael and then dug her head into his shoulder, sobbing light. Anna looked at Michael as he looked off to the wall, trying not to react to Nikita's tears.

Madeline turned around and saw Anna standing in the hallway. Madeline stepped forward and picked Anna up, even thought she was a heavy child for her age and moved back to her room.

"Mom, what is wrong with Nikita?" Anna questioned and Madeline pushed back Anna's now blonde hair back and frowned.

"Nikita is fine. She just needs to be sure that the baby is fine." Madeline said and Anna wrinkled her nose up tightly. Madeline moved forward and sat down on the bed, knowing that an explanation was going to be needed. She did not want to upset Anna anymore than she had been.

"We are trying to get Michael and Nikita out of here before your Dad gets out of the meeting with Ida." Madeline said and Anna frowned even more. She didn't like the idea of Ida being with her Dad.

"Why?" Anna questioned and Madeline nodded her head.

"Well, you know how you are upset with your Dad right now? Well, he hasn't been so nice to Nikita during her pregnancy… It will be better if Nikita can get away from him for a few days. She'll be back, and have the baby here." Madeline said and Anna nodded her head. Madeline stood up from the bed, seeing that the room across the hallway had settled somewhat, when Anna grabbed Madeline's hand.

"I need to talk to Nikita." Anna announced and Madeline looked at Anna surprised as she jumped off the bed, showing the signs that she was feeling much better. Madeline wasn't sure what had occurred between Ida and Anna, but something had definitely changed Anna.

"Why?" Madeline questioned and Anna looked across the hallway as Elana was shaking her head, throwing down Nikita's chart. Nikita was pulling herself together and Michael held out her coat.

"I have too." Anna said and stormed out of her own room, in only the Medlab gown on her body. Madeline looked to her watch and hoped that Ida realized that Nikita and Michael had not left Section One yet.

Anna looked to Michael and he stepped out of the room quickly. Nikita looked at Anna as she stepped up onto the chair and looked at Nikita.

"Thank you, Aunt Nikita." Anna said softly and Nikita nodded her head. Anna leaned forward and threw her arms around Nikita's neck.

"I love you so much, Aunt Nikita. You are the most special aunt I can have. You save my life, and you are my aunt-sister." Anna said and Nikita smiled and nodded her head as Anna pulled her arms away from Nikita's neck. Nikita reached out and rubbed Anna's own tears away. Madeline stood at the doorway and looked to Nikita.

"You really must leave. Operations will be trying to get you to do the follow up mission." Madeline said to Nikita and she nodded her head. She reached out for Michael, and moved her pregnant body as quickly as possible. Madeline smiled at her daughter.

"I am proud of you, Anna. It takes a brave girl to do that." Madeline said as she reached out and crossed Anna back to her room.

*************

Operations held the new mission profile in his hand as he walked down the hallway with Ida. She had been concerned with Anna, and needed to discuss some issues with him. He was very concern about his daughter and he would have done anything for Anna at that point.

Ida pushed the door open as she walked into Medlab. Operations moved to the last room and stared at Madeline as she held the chart softly in her hand.

"Where is Nikita? I have their follow up mission." Operations said and Madeline smiled softly.

"That was their last mission. They are gone now." Madeline said and Operations dropped the PDA and looked at Ida.

"You were in on this." Operations hissed and Ida blinked her eyes. She dropped her head and then looked at Operations.

"I am trying to help your daughter Anna. Helping Nikita get out of here for a small trip is going to help Anna." Ida responded sharply and he shook his head as he pulled Nikita's chart up with his hands.

"She had an examine?" Operations asked and Madeline nodded her head.

"Yes. She is fine. No risk of early labor is seen, and the baby isn't moving into the birthing canal. We can give them a week away. It will help bring Nikita's blood pressure down." Madeline stated and Operations shook his head as he threw the chart to the wall.

"What about my blood pressure? You both played me!" Operations screamed and Madeline turned to the room and looked to Ida. Ida nodded her head as she entered Anna's room.

"I talked to Nikita." Anna said softly and Ida nodded her head. She had known that, but that did not matter. It was a big step for Anna.

"Can I love her as a sister and an aunt?" Anna asked and Ida nodded her head softly and Anna leaned forward.

"Since you know so much… can you tell me what she will be having?" Anna asked and Ida scowled and folded her hands on her hips.

"No, because you just want to get in on the baby pool." Ida said and Anna giggled.

"I'll give the money to Aunt Nikita." Anna said innocently and Ida laughed. This girl was going to make it, because Operations didn't realize how much like Nikita she was. Ida knew that Operations had wondered about how Nikita came to be that somehow her pure innocent heart and infectious spirit were from her mother. Ida looked at Anna and knew that Operations somewhere along the line lost what Nikita had and what Anna had. That was why he was not making the connection with his daughters.

Ida was also painfully aware, that Stephen, the son that Nikita had killed to save her life from the deranged psychopath, haunted his every relationship. He would never admit it, that he still resented Nikita for his death. Operations had known Stephen his entire life, and Nikita was only known so briefly in comparison. Ida could only hope for the sake of Nikita's and Michael's child that things would change. Ida looked to Anna and smiled. She had to worry for this daughter, as Nikita had Michael and Madeline, and many others. Ida turned and smiled at Madeline as she led the fuming Operations out of Medlab. Ida grabbed a few dolls and turned to Ida.

"This is your Dad.. And this one is you…. What is the best thing he has ever done with you? Show me with the dolls." Ida whispered out as she handed the two dolls to Anna.
