Walter walks into Section late in the night. A few operatives are sprinkled about, but no one important to Walter's view. "Hey, Walter.. heard you had a hot one tonight!" Steve calls out as he is sweeping the floor. "Yeah.. that honey was hot... hunting and peaking all about!" Walter says with a huge laugh and an obscene hand motion. Steve slaps Walter's back with a chuckle. "Bet she was better than the Ice Queen!" Steve says. "Anyone is..." Walter immediately says, to keep up with his old image. He had forgotten how much he was known to be 'nice' to the ladies. He use to flirt with Nikita all the time, but somehow Nikita slipped into being almost a daughter to him. Walter walks down the hall, trying to forget the night that had happened. He had tried to go instantly back into the Walter that was still talked about late at night. It was true that he once spent the night with half of the Swedish Swimsuit Models, and it was true that in one week he was with ten different women, and all of the women wanted Walter again. Yet, that Walter was gone, and Walter didn't know how it happened. He was gone even before he started with Madeline. Something had made him changed. At first Walter thought that it could have been Nikita. He watched her suffer for love, and to have relationship that she truly wanted. He had been there for Nikita in her worst hour and stood back when Nikita was striving high. But Nikita was not the answer. Walter walked into his quarters and sighed as he turned on some blues music. He missed Madeline. He really hated to admit it, but he missed Madeline. Yes, since Operations went to Moscow to be with Stephen, Madeline has had no time for him, but then Madeline had no time for anyone. Walter falls down into the huge blue beanbag chair he had rescued and falls into it. Depression falling on his heart. The girl tonight was lovely. She had long legs, a perky chest, and a lovely tan and smile. Her raven hair sparkled as did her laugh. She adored Walter, but something stopped Walter. She was a girl. Maybe she was older than Nikita.. but she was a girl. "Maybe Section has finally gotten to my heart..." Walter sighs and he rubs his face. He never believed there would be a time he would say no to a willing, lovely, young lady. It was what made him Walter. "Hey, what about a night cap?" The girl said with a huge wink. Anyone in the bar could easily see what she had meant. She moved her hand high up on Walter's thigh, and embarassingly, Walter felt nothing. "Not tonight, darling..." Walter says, pushing her hand further away. "I'm good and ready.. and I never disappoint." The girl said bluntly, and Walter almost ran out of the bar without paying the bill. He couldn't even face the girl again. Walter's eyes were about to fall to sleep when a piercing cry is heard. Walter rolls his eyes open and sighs, "Anna." Walter pulls himself up from the beanbag chair, and holds his back in some stiff pain. Maybe it was time to get rid of the chair. He quickly moved to the hallway and down to the crying girl. Mildred stood next to Anna's crib, and Anna was screaming and turning quite a bright shade of red. "WALT!!!" Anna exclaims as Walter walks closer to her. Boy, he hadn't seen her in a while. Anna's tears almost dry instantly as Anna reaches her hands up to him. Walter bends down and pulls her up. Maybe it was Anna that was making his back sore. "Story.. pleesee" Anna says with big puppy dog eyes. Walter nods Mildred away, and he takes a seat in the hard wooden chair. He pulls a book and start to read. Soon, the words become automatic, and Walter finds peace in looking into Anna's eyes, which were fighting off sleep. Maybe it was Anna that had changed Walter. He smiles as he remembers how many times Anna's laugh alone could make Walter forget all of his worries. He always commented on how good Anna was for Nikita, well, maybe Anna was good for him. Walter slides the sleeping Anna into the bed, and sneaks out on tip toes. He is now rethinking about what happened tonight. Maybe, he finally grew up... gasp... matured. Suddenly, the events that occured that night meant nothing, and what mattered was seeing Anna more often. So what if he broke up with Madeline even though he still loved her, he loved Anna... and he needed that and Anna needed it. A different man found his way back to Walter's room and feel into the beanbag.
