Light At The End Of The Tunnel
By KT
Copyright April 14, 2000
Was ever a light so bright
That it shattered my inner vision
As it pierced my heart
To prick life back into my soul
That lay in darkness
For longer that I knew...
Longer that I ever dreamed it would?
Every ache
Every twinge of anguish
Every cry for freedom
Dulled by the clean hard feel
Of cold steel under my trigger finger
As I destroy evil
For what I tell myself is the greater good...
For what I told myself
Was only just...
Was only fair...
Was only right
Until her light
Burst over my delusion
With shimmering fireworks of compassion.
Illumination
Is what I seek...
Is what I crave...
Is what I treasure
In my heart of hearts
Where only her light
Can illuminate.
