They built themselves a dam
To try to stem the tide
Of our love for each other
That never could abide

Their cold soul-stealing ways
That led us to the maze
Of mistrust and confusion
And pain and disillusion.

But one by one the drops
Of passion filled the space
Behind the dam's great wall.
The waters dance and race

Toward their destined place
Where love and hate can bend
And twist the evil thrall
That seeks to make an end

To lives so innocent.
Their weight begins to press
Against the wall so thick,
The cracks begin to seep

And passion runs more deep
Than walls can e'er contain
And breaks into the dawn
Where we go once again,

Our souls forged into one
Great waterfall, the sun
Makes rainbows of our joy,
And truth becomes undone.
