Your eyes put me on trial
Every single day
Your lips accuse me
And I take the blame

No words I can say
Could prove you wrong
I tried them all
'Til I lost my tongue

I am what you say
I am what you see
You mold me

In the mirror you hold at me
I don't like what I see
But I can't say you're wrong

Though, I never promised
I never hoped
I never said
I was the one

When I take
You give
Where I'm mute
You speak
While you're strong
I'm weak
You know me

Still, you're disappointed
You don't trust me
For I'm not the man
You want me to be

You want honesty
You want to share
You want me open
But can't stand the dare

So what can I do
If my truths hurt
When so often my lies
Have warmed your heart

I warned you
Don't you listen?
I bring pain
Now, you look shocked

I don't need pity
I don't need care
Who asked you to save me?
I never dared

You're close
I see
To give up on me
And I don't care

You already did
All you could for me
All you need to do
is Be

You bring me purpose
You bring me faith
You give me reasons
To put on a brave face

So go on and hate me
Hurt me
Strike me
All I need you to
Is Be
