Michael awoke to the smell of bacon and eggs. He yawned as his stomach growled hungrily. He opened his eyes and was greeted by the blaring sunlight shining through his windows. He closed his quickly as pain shot through his head.

He rolled onto his stomach and bumped into Nikita's side. He slitted his eyes open and grinned as he caught sight of her. Her head was buried under a pillow and the blanket was pulled all the way up to her neck. His smile grew as he heard René began to sing and Nikita's groan sound from under her pillow.

He moved his hand under the covers and found her lower back. He began to caress her softly and the groan turned into a moan. He sighed as she scooted closer to him and peeked out from under her pillow. Before either could speak they heard a banging of pots followed by French expletives. They both giggled softly.

"I'm gonna kill your friend." Nikita growled.

"I think you are going to have to wait in line. How long have you been up?" Michael asked his hand stroking her back slowly.

"Since he opened the damn curtain. I don't think he remembered I was here. He looked shocked to see me looking at him angrily. If I wasn't naked I would have jumped up and slapped him. I was having a pleasant dream and bam a light from hell ruined it." Nikita said stretching against Michael.

"What time is it?" Michael asked pulling her close to him.

"Eight, I think." Nikita said kissing his shoulder. "How's your head?"

"Regretting the wine. I'm sorry for getting drunk and falling asleep on you last night." He said closing his eyes as pain shot through his head again.

"It's fine. I would rather have you fall asleep then puking your guts out on me." Nikita said playfully.

"Good morning." René came into the bedroom area a smile on his face. He looked at Nikita and then at Michael.

"Hi René. What are you doing waking me up at eight in the morning? Don't you have a hangover?" Michael asked.

"You need to get your lazy ass up, Michel. Excuse my language." René said looking at Nikita.

"It's okay." Nikita looked at Michael and giggled. "I gotta go to the bathroom, babe."

"René can you please give us a minute. Go bang some more pots." Michael said as he pulled on the pants he wore last night. He went and retrieved his robe for Nikita.

"Of course, Michel. Don't be too long breakfast is done." René said whistling while he left.

Nikita and Michael went into the bathroom and shared a shower. René could hear giggling coming from the closed door and sighed. Were those two ever going to get out of there. He looked up as the door opened and Nikita stepped out dressed in jeans and a blouse. Michael followed close behind pulling his shirt over his head.

Nikita smiled at the breakfast on the stove. She served herself a plate and began to chow down. Michael glanced at the scrambled eggs and winced. He quickly grabbed some croissants and coffee and sat with Nikita and his friend.

"Michel, I made a glorious breakfast and you insult me by eating a few croissants?" René asked incredulously.

"Oui." Michael said drinking his coffee.

"Michel, you are impossible." René stated

"Je sais. It's part of my charm though." Michael said.

"Yeah right. How do you put up with him?" René asked Nikita.

"He's got a great body. Makes up for all his inadequacies." Nikita said smiling at Michael.

"I'm sure." René stated sarcastically.

"Have you called Karen, yet?" Michael asked finishing his breakfast.

"Oui, she is mad at me. I told her that all of us would have lunch today." René said glancing at his friend.

"René."

"Michel, please, I need your help. You are the only one that could help me smooth things over with her." René said pleadingly.

"You are pain in the neck, you know that." Michael said to his friend.

"I know but it is part of my charm." René said smugly.

"Ha ha very funny." Michael said.

************

Michael was sitting at Walter's house watching television with Nikita when Valerie walked in. Valerie regarded Michael and Nikita watching Last of the Mohicans, Nikita's favorite movie, and smiled. Her cousin seemed very happy with Michael.

"Hey you two. Having fun? " She asked joining them.

"Yup" Nikita said wiping the tears from her eyes.

"I wish I could get Birkoff to watch this flick with me. He hates it." Valerie stated.

"Yeah, that's cause you and Nikita made me watch it a hundred times." Birkoff said walking into the living room and sat next to Valerie.

"We did not." Nikita said snuggling close to Michael as the girl jumped off the cliff.

"Okay. If you say so. Michael be prepared to watch this movie until you barf." Birkoff said.

Michael chuckled softly the interaction between Nikita and her family. They always made him feel welcome and part of their family whenever he was around. It made him very happy and light hearted.

"How was dinner last night Nikki?" Valerie asked.

Nikita felt Michael tense slightly under her. She looked at him as his eyes became shuttered a little. He looked at her and blinked, the glint vanishing quickly. He sighed and sat up straight causing Nikita to move away from him.

"Michael?" She said concern etched in her eyes. She watched as he stood up and looked at the window silently.

Valerie and Birkoff looked at the couple curiously. They watched as Nikita got up and touched Michael's shoulder. He turned and faced her. Nikita's breath caught in her throat at the look of such sadness in his eyes. She wrapped her arms around him as he sighed.

Michael lingered in her embrace before he pulled back. He looked at her then at Birkoff and Valerie. "I'm sorry. Dinner was a disaster. My father made an ass of himself and we had a fight."

"Oh." Valerie said. "I'm sorry."

"Thank you, so am I." Michael replied. "So for Walter's party, do you need any help?"

"Yeah if you don't mind." Valerie said smiling at Michael.

"I'd be honored." He replied smiling warmly at her and Birkoff. He sat on the couch and looked at Nikita. She came and sat beside him as they began to talk about Walter's party while he eavesdropped around the corner.

************

Michael and Nikita arrived at the restaurant before René and Karen got there. They sat and waited for them to get their. Michael glanced at his watch and sighed, René was always late. He looked at Nikita and smiled.

"René has a chronic condition about arriving on time. He never does, never has in fact." Michael said. Whatever he was going to say next was cut off by René and Karen arriving at the table.

"Hello Michel. Nikita this is my fiancee Karen. Karen this is Michel's friend Nikita. How are you two doing?" René said as he pulled out the chair for Karen before sitting down.

"We're okay. How about you two?" Michael asked his friends.

"We're fine, we just came from the daycare. Michel is going to the zoo on a field trip. He is excited to see the horses." Karen said looking over the menu. "Have you two ordered?"

"No, we were waiting for you." Michael replied looking over his menu.

"Michel, I wanted to apologize for the inconvenience I caused last night." René said looking towards Nikita and then at Michael.

"It's okay, René, but next time call when you are coming over." Michael said smiling. "I trust everything is okay with the both of you."

"Oui, Michel, things are okay with us. Thank you for talking some sense into René. He acts like and ass sometimes he is lucky to have a friend like you to knock some sense into him from time to time." Karen said laughing at René's frown.

They ordered their food and the spent the rest of the afternoon talking.

****

Nikita opened the door to her apartment with a smile. Michael has dropped her off after lunch promising to see her later on. He left to work out and she went to take a long hot bath at her place. However, before she had a chance to get in the shower a knock sounded at the door. She sighed and donned her bath robe before walking to the door.

"Michael, I thought-" Nikita stopped mid sentence her mouth hanging open. "Mom what are you doing here?"

"I came for my brother's birthday and who is Michael?" Roberta Wirth asked as she waited for her daughter to invite her in.

"I thought you couldn't make it." Nikita asked closing her door as her mother stepped inside.

"My boss took mercy on me and gave me some time off, I figured I'd surprise Walter. Wow, nice place honey. It suits you." Roberta said looking around. She went into the living room and on a little end table saw a picture of her daughter with some guy.

"Who is this? You look so happy, baby." Roberta said softly.

"That's Michael. Mom, make yourself at home. I need to take a bath and get dressed. I'll be out in a minute. 'Kay." Nikita said glancing at her mom.

"Sure, Nikki. Take your time." Roberta said smiling at her.

Nikita smiled back and went to take her long awaited shower.

****

Roberta and Nikita were talking when a knock sounded at the door. Roberta watched Nikita answer it and smile at the person on the other side. She saw Nikita hug whoever it was and usher them inside.

"Mom, this is Michael. Michael this is my mother Roberta Wirth." Nikita said introducing them.

"Pleasure to meet you Ms. Wirth." Michael said politely.

"Same here Michael and call me Roberta. You look spiffy where are you going?" Roberta asked as she looked Michael over. He was wearing jeans, a sweater and a leather jacket.

"I thought we were headed over to Walter's." Michael stated looking at Nikita.

"Yeah, we're still going. Let me get my jacket. Mom where are you staying?" Nikita asked as she grabbed her coat.

"I was going to ask if I could stay here with you, Niki." Roberta asked.

"That's fine, Mom." Nikita said smiling at her mother. "Are you going to come to Uncle Walt's with us?"

"If it's not a problem." She replied.

"None, let's go, I'm starved." Nikita said as they went out the door.

"Do you think Walter will be okay with this Nikki?" Roberta asked hesitantly in the car.

"Mom, he'll love it. He rarely gets to see any of his family. Don't worry it'll be fine." Nikita said putting her hand on Michael's thigh as he drove.

"Nikki, I thought you were going to be a little less welcoming towards me given everything that has happened between us." Roberta said softly.

"Mom, now isn't the best time to do this, but a lot of time has passed and recently things have made me reevaluate things. We'll talk later." Nikita said as she glanced in the back seat at her mother.

"Nikita, Harry and Monique will be coming to Walter's party, is that okay." Michael said looking at Nikita.

"It'll be fine. Walter likes Monique and Harry. It's cool." Nikita replied as they arrived at Walter's house.

They got out of the car and walked to the front door. Walter opened before they had a chance to knock and when he saw Roberta a happy grin lit up his face. He went to his sister and hugged her warmly.

"Robbie, lemme look at you." He looked her up and down and smiled again."You look great a little thin, but great. What a great birthday gift."

"Hey Wally, I thought I'd come and celebrate with you." Roberta said smiling at her brother.

"Well come on in. Val and Birkoff are inside. Come on in you two." Walter said as they went inside.

"We'll be there in a minute, Walter." Michael said as he grabbed Nikita's hand and pulled her close to him.

"Are you okay?" He asked concern in his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. One thing I realized seeing you with your father is that despite the hell he puts you through you still love him. If you could do it then so could I. My mom has been through a lot like me and yet she worked to get better. She has tried to make things up to me and all I did was give her grief but then I realized that she was as hurt as I was by my dad leaving and that's why she did the things she did you know. She was so hurt that she didn't see what her boyfriends were doing, but when she did she stopped it quick." She looked at Michael and saw all the love he had for her in his eyes. He held her closer and his eyes closed but not before she saw a flash of pain.

"Michael, maybe you should talk to your father. He wasn't that off base with his words last night-"

"No. He was wrong. You aren't a whore. Nothing those men did to you was your fault. What they did does not make you a whore. I don't ever want to hear those words out of your mouth again. Understand." he said to her.

"Got it, sir. Still if I could forgive my mother for all the s--- she put me through, I think you could forgive your father." She replied softly.

"I will, Nikita. i just need time." He said before he kissed her long and hard.

"I love you." She said hugging him as they broke apart.

"I love you too, Kita. Let's go inside and feed you." He chuckled as her stomach growled loudly.

She smiled as he ushered her into the house where her mouth watered at the smell of food.

************

Nikita giggled as Walter and her mother recounted tales of her youth. She covered her face in embarrassment as they recounted the time when she first saw a couple kissing. Walter was giggling while he told the story and Roberta was clutching her sides while she laughed.

"Okay, haven't you embarrassed me enough, please stop." Nikita said her face covered by her hands.

"C'mon, Sugar, you know that was some funny stuff. Your little face was priceless." Walter said as he began to giggle again.

"I'm glad you find my past embarrassment so amusing." She replied dryly.

"Well you guys we are off to bed." Valerie said as she and Birkoff got up from the couch.

"Alright, good-night you two." Walter said as he kissed Valerie.

"Good night Birkoff. Night Val." Nikita said. She looked at Michael and caught him yawning.

"Maybe we should go." Nikita said looking at her mother. "If you want to stay here-"

"No, I'm ready to go. See you tomorrow, Wally." Roberta said hugging her brother.

"Okay, Robbie. I love you, kiddo."

"Bye Walter." Michael said shaking his hand.

"Bye Michael. Sleep tight."

"G'night Uncle Walter. I love you." Nikita said hugging him.

"Night Sugar. Love you, too." Walter said as he walked them to the door and waved as they got in the car. As they drove away he shut the door.

****

Nikita walked into her apartment followed by her mother and Michael. She yawned as Michael shut the door. She looked at him and smiled. She went into the living room and pulled the futon chair into a bed for her mother. Michael came from her bedroom closet with blanket and a couple of pillows. He helped her set the bed up as Roberta was in the bathroom.

Roberta emerged from the bathroom and walked down the small set of steps. She went into the living room and saw her daughter setting up the bed.

"Here you go, Mom." Nikita said gesturing to the bed. "I hope it's okay."

"It'll be fine sweetie. I am so tired right now it wouldn't matter anyways." She replied laying on the bed.

"Goodnight Mom. I love you." Nikita said kissing her mother on the cheek.

"Night Nikki. Sleep well. Night Michael." Roberta said.

"Goodnight Roberta." Michael said.

Nikita turned off the light and she and Michael went up to her bedroom. She went into the bathroom to perform her nightly ablutions. She got out of the bathroom and looked towards the bed. Michael was already under the covers waiting for her to join him. His clothes were folded neatly on the chair in the corner of the room.

She went to him and slipped under the covers with him. She sighed as he wrapped his arms around her and snuggled to her spoon fashion. She hugged his arms closer to her as he parted her legs with his. She opened her eyes in shock, he was wearing boxers. Michael never wore any clothes to bed when they were together.

"Why are you over dressed?" She whispered to him.

"Your mother is in the living room. The only thing separating us from her is a screen. I don't want to be tempted." Michael said nuzzling her neck with his lips.

"I feel underdressed, babe. Why don't you join me?" Nikita said arching her back fully against him.

"You aren't underdressed." He groaned as she moved her curves against him teasingly. "You are perfect."

Nikita moaned as his hand squeezed her breast gently. She turned around to face him. There was enough light for her to see his smile. He moved his face to hers and kissed her warmly. She opened her lips to let his tongue caress her mouth. When they parted he smiled again and hugged her to him.

"I love you, Nikita." He whispered in her ear.

"I love you too." She replied looking at him.

He turned on his back and pulled her to him. She lay on his chest the steady beat of his heart lulling her to sleep. Michael followed minutes later, her soft breathing making him smile in his sleep.

****

Michael shifted in his sleep causing Nikita to wake up. She looked at him and saw his face contorted into a frown. He was murmuring in French and he was sweating. Nikita sat up and looked at her clock it was 2:30 in the morning. She looked at Michael as he shifted again more violently. His murmuring increased slightly in volume. He was speaking too fast for her to understand.

She glanced up as she heard a noise and a light go on. Her mother was staring at them with concern. Michael was gripping the sheets so hard his knuckles were white. Nikita looked down at him with concern. She reached out for his shoulder and touched him gently.

"Michael." She whispered shaking him gently.

He woke up and sat up quickly. He looked around and glanced at Nikita. He looked at the entrance to the bedroom and saw Roberta there a look of worry in her eyes. He closed his eyes and sighed.

"I'm sorry." He said softly.

"Are you okay?" Nikita said smoothing his hair away from his face.

"Yeah. I'm fine." He said closing his eyes again.

"Mom, why don't you go back to bed." Nikita said.

"Sure. G'night you two." She replied as she turned off the lights and went back to bed.

"What were you dreaming about?" she asked as he lay back down and she joined him.

"About something when I was at the University." He said softly.

"Must have been pretty bad. It had you all worked up." She said stroking his chest hypnotically.

"It was nothing. Something I'd really rather forget." He pulled her on top of him. His hand stroking her hips.

"Michael, if you don't want to tell me, that's okay." She said laying her head in his neck. Her body rose as he sighed.

"René and I were involved in this group at the University. We participated in student protests about the government and stuff. Our group, L'huere Sanguine, was responsible for organizing these protests. One day we were doing this demonstration and it got out of hand a lot of people got hurt because of what René and I did." He told her his voice deep with regret.

"What did you do?" She asked.

"We made a pipe bomb and it accidentally went off. It went through an open window into a chem lab and set the building on fire. People got out in time but they got hurt, some real bad. René and I got caught and we spent some time in jail. The whole time we were there all I saw were those people I help hurt because I was angry." He whispered holding her close. "I haven't had a nightmare about it in a while. I guess all this stuff with my dad is making me a little crazy."

"That's all in the past Michael you have to let it go, you aren't perfect. We all have things we aren't proud of. Also this thing with your dad is making you crazy 'cause you care what he thinks about you and the choices you make. You want him to be proud of you. What child doesn't want that from their parents." Nikita said kissing his lips and then his chest before settling her head back under his neck.

"Yeah. Let's get some sleep." He said kissing her brow. They stayed like that for the rest of the night.

************

Michael and Nikita woke up early the next morning to music blasting through the apartment. Michael groaned and buried his head underneath his pillow. The music blared louder and he cursed loudly.

Nikita sat up and looked for her robe, however, her mother came in at just that moment. Roberta looked at her naked daughter and smiled knowingly.

"Breakfast is ready. Get up." she said before retreating back to the kitchen.

"I'm so tired." Nikita said yawning as she donned her robe.

"Me too." Michael said pulling on his jeans.

They both went to the bathroom and washed up for breakfast. They smiled at each other in the mirror. Nikita looked at Michael concern on her face.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"I'm okay." Michael said looking at Nikita his head cocking to the side. His eyes shining brightly.

"What?" She asked at his gaze.

"I love you." He said softly.

"I love you too. Now let's eat I'm starved." She said as they made their way downstairs. Occasional laughter was heard as the trio ate.

****

Michael sighed as he looked at the beautiful assortments in front of him. He glanced at the man helping him and sighed again. He looked around the case and went to another section of the displays. His eyes found what he was looking for.

"May I see that one?" He asked the man.

"Certainly, monsieur. Here you go." The proprietor said handing the selection to Michael.

"This is it. I'll take it." Michael looked at it and knew it was perfect. He looked at the man and nodded his head in affirmation.

"Excellent selection, monsieur."

"Thank you." Michael said grinning like an idiot.

************

Nikita parked her car and pulled her jacket tighter around her as she walked to the restaurant. She smiled at the maitre'd as she walked by. She found Michael sitting in their favorite table by the window.

"Hey, babe." She said as she walked to him.

"Hi." He said kissing her cheek and pulling her chair out for her. "I ordered for us, I hope you don't mind."

"No, it saves time since you know I always get the same thing." She said as she looked at him.

They ate their meal and made pleasant conversation. They enjoyed their evening of solitude at their leisure. When they finished their meal they decided to take a stroll in the park where they first said the "L" word to each other.

Michael had a little blanket spread near the tree where they had sat that day. Nikita gasped as she saw the candles lit around it and the champagne bucket to the side. She looked at Michael curiously.

"When did you have time to do this?" She asked.

"I made the time. Since we haven't had time alone and figured we should relish it." He replied sitting down patting the space beside him.

"Besides I thought we could talk." He said grabbing her hand.

"About what?" She asked as she move to sit in front of him. When he wrapped his arms around her she snuggled into his body.

"About our future and us. I went to out today and ran some errands. I also thought about a lot of things. I am going to stop working at One for a while. My father is perfectly capable for handling it and Monique is interested in the business. I want to go back to school. I've been keeping up with the current things and I do publish in science journals when I get the chance, so I figure I could take a couple of courses and become a professor." He said softly in her ear.

"Wow, Michael. As long as you are happy I'll be there for you." She said hugging his arms.

"That's good because that is my next point. You know that I love you. I think I've loved you since the moment I first saw you. The time we spend together is very important to me and I find myself wanting to spend every minute with you. Last night when you saw me have that nightmare and accepted what I did, something happened. Then this morning I looked at you and I knew what I had to do." Michael said as he hugged her closer.

"I realized that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't want to go home without you anymore. I want to wake up next to you every morning for the rest of my life." He let go of her and moved so that they were facing each other. He looked at her and smiled warmly as he dug in his jacket pocket.

"Nikita, will you marry me?" He asked showing her the ring. He looked at her and gently wiped away the tears that had fallen form her eyes. He watched as she took the ring and put it on her finger.

"What do you think." She stated as she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him passionately.

"Mrs. Samuelle. I think I like the sound of that." she said softly and their happy laughter echoed throughout the park.

************

Michael shifted around as he knocked at the door to his parent’s home. He sighed as he remembered what happened last night. He couldn't believe that he and Nikita were going to get married. He smiled as he remembered what happened when they told Roberta and Walter. They both whooped and yelled like a bunch of high school kids. Then he remembered what he and Nikita did and he actually blushed, his back was still bothering him.

When the door opened as his mother saw him she hugged him tightly and began crying. He held her and began comforting her. He pulled away and wiped away her tears. He smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Hi Maman." he said as he stepped inside. "How are you?"

"I'm fine. Et toi?" She replied.

"I'm okay. Where is he?" He asked softly.

"In the study."

"Good. Come on it's about time we had this conversation, it's way overdue." Michael said as he walked towards the study with his mother following.

He stepped in the study and looked at his father sitting at the desk going over some paperwork. He nodded towards Jacques and sat down with his mother following suit.

"Michel-"

"No, papa, please let me say what I came to tell you." Michael said interrupting him.

"My entire life I have tried to be the son you expected. I am sorry if I failed you in not meeting those expectations. For the past decade I have walked on eggshells to try and live my life how you wanted me to but things change. I can't live like that anymore not if I want to be happy. A few days ago we had an argument that surpassed all the others. I came here to apologize for hitting you and acting the way I did no matter, how much you deserved it. All I want is your understanding of who I am and why I do the things I do." Michael got up and walked to the window. As he stared outside his shoulders drooped slightly.

"Lauren and I broke up not only because I didn't love her but for other reasons. I thought I could marry her and eventually grow to love her. At the time I didn't see how wrong that was. However, before I could marry her, Lauren was having an affair with someone else. It seemed that she became bored while I was working all those hours as One. One night I thought I'd surprise her and come home early. When I got home it turns out I was the one in for a surprise. I found her making love to another man in our bed. That is why I broke it off. How could I grow to care for someone who cheats on me whenever she gets bored." Michael turned back to face his parents who had shocked expressions. He inhaled and began again.

"Now the way you treated Nikita, Dad was totally unacceptable. I love her and she deserved better treatment they she received that night. She came ready to meet both of you because I wanted you to meet the woman who stole my heart. I asked her to marry me last night and she accepted. I hope that she could have the opportunity to know her father-in-law." Michael said looking from his father to his mother, who had a happy smile on her face."I also put in my resignation at One. I have no idea whether it is temporary or not. I am going to go back to school for a while and begin teaching chemistry as soon as possible. I have kept up with my studies and am pretty well noted in the science community."

"He sat down across from his father and looked into his eyes pleadingly. "Papa, I'm sorry if I have disappointed you. Please try and understand that I don't do this to make you angry with me but because this is what I need to do to be happy. I have a woman I love beyond words and now I want my father back." Michael looked at his father and sighed when Jacques stood quiet. He rose and looked at his mother.

"Both of you are invited to Nikita's uncle's birthday tonight. Here is the address. A gift isn't necessary. To quote the birthday boy 'all I want is everyone on the planet getting toasted at my party' I love you both." Michael said as he hugged his mother and looked at his father before leaving.

****

Michael was dancing with Nikita when Walter decided to cut in. Michael smiled and bowed letting Walter dance with his niece. H spied Roberta standing around and asked her to dance. The place was crowded everyone showed up to appease Walter's only wish along with some gifts that he absolutely loved.

Michael and Nikita were standing to the side gently swaying to a soft melody as Walter and Belinda danced slowly. Michael sighed and held Nikita closer to him.

"You okay?" She asked his mood had somewhat improved since this afternoon.

"I'm fine. At peace." He replied kissing her cheek.

"I'm sorry it didn't work out babe. I was really hoping it would." She said turning to kiss him softly.

"It's okay. You know what they say something's aren't meant to be." He stated turning her back towards him and held her close.

The back gate swinging open caught their attention and they turned their gazes to it. Michael squinted at the petite figure that was making its way to him and Nikita. He smiled as reorganization dawned.

"Maman." He looked at Nikita and disentangled himself from her and went to his mother hugging her warmly.

"Hey, sorry we are late but traffic was horrible." She replied not missing the way his eyes had looked over her shoulder hopefully.

"It's okay." His eyes had a disappointed glint in them.

"Come you have to meet my future family-in-law."He said grabbing her hand and Nikita's ushering them toward Walter and the rest of the family.

As introductions were made the gate swung open once again catching Michael's astute eye. He turned his head slightly and saw his father standing there awkwardly.

He glanced at Nikita and went to him. they stood looking at each other in silence. Michael looked towards the group and then back at his father. Jacques opened his mouth and spoke.

"I wanted to say that you have surpassed all my expectations as a son and a man. You are not a disappointment to me. I am so proud of you. I am sorry about the way I have been acting. You have nothing to be sorry about. I started that argument and I insulted someone who is obviously special. So, if it's not too late I want to be your father again." Jacques said.

"If that special woman has taught me anything it is that it is never too late." Michael said going to his father and hugged him tightly.

"I love you, Michel." Jacques said softly.

"I love you too, Papa" Michael whispered. He let go off his father and grinned at him. "Come on I want you to meet some pretty incredible people, who just happen to be my future family-in-law."

"I would be honored." Jacques said as they made their way to the smiling group of people.
