“I think we’re all in agreement, then. We want it to end with this last one—no possibility of continuation or sequel.”

“And just how do we make sure of that?”

“Simple. We make it as offensive and illogical as possible. We turn the characters inside out—make them do things completely opposite their nature—even kill some off. We throw continuity to the winds. And, most important, no happy ending. Hell, let’s do an ending everyone will hate and no one will understand.”

Amid devious smirks and laughter, the team settles down to business—the writing of episode 422.

I feel trapped. Panicky, my mind races to every corner of the room, vainly seeking escape from what I know is coming. I can’t do this. Please—don’t make me do this.

Reluctantly, I allow my eyes to meet his, seeking support, wondering if he will see the apprehension escalating within me. What I see in his eyes stuns me, turning my distress into…… something I can’t name, can’t believe.

His gaze is seductive, seizing control—rousing in me an unfamiliar, overpowering hunger that demands to be satisfied. My eyes burn the space between us….. It begins.

“So, let me get this straight. You want me to first portray Mick – a low level informant with sleazy terrorist contacts—who’s an irritating, pushy, self-important clown.”

“Correct.”

“Later, along with Mick, I’m to portray Mr. Jones – the supposed head of a covert anti-terrorist organization, who wields absolute power over everyone and everything.”

“Correct.”

Somewhere along the way, I recruit Nikita, a Section One operative, to be a mole within Section One and report to Jones.”

“Correct.”

“And, you understand I’m just an actor with no knowledge of world terrorism and no contacts.”

“Correct.”

“Piece of cake. Count me in.”
