      Indescribable feelings for
      A multifaceted word
      With multitudinal meanings
      That most of us have heard.

      It’s been the source for poets
      And writers of all kind
      To wax eloquent and glibly
      Or put their words to rhyme.

      The truth is-- it’s not easy
      To define a word like this.
      It may start with just a whisper
      Or with a tender kiss.

      What chemical reaction
      Within our body builds
      To a crescendo of feelings
      Until we are fulfilled?

      Is that what we can say love is
      Or is it something more..
      A lasting, gentle feeling
      That comes later, not before?

      The initial spark may not be love
      But passion that we feel.
      True love lasts forever
      But takes longer to reveal.

      We may have many passions
      And many conquests too,
      But love is what we really seek
      In everything we do.
