"Michael's Eyes"



       If we open our hearts we will see
       That everyone's not just as we.
       Some for reason's yet unknown
       Spend their lives very much alone.

       Some people speak with many words
       Expressing feelings we've all heard.
       But others needn't say a thing,
       Their eyes reveal most everything.

       There's a reticence that we have seen.
       And a poignancy in his eyes of green,
       That shows us what is really true.
       The reality comes shining through.

       Whatever he may try to hide,
       Whatever he must keep inside,
       Wells up into those lovely eyes.
       There's something there
       We all surmise.

       No matter that he fails to show
       The usual emotions we all know.
       His eyes express what he can't say.
       They speak volumes in every way.

       Michael must be a lonely man,
       Trying to survive as best he can.
       But just one look into those eyes
       We see feelings he can't disguise.
