Paul walked in the room as Madeline finished packing. She turned around and looked at him with a smile. They were both excited but neither one would admit it. This was a big day for them. This was what they had been waiting for. "Today is the day." She recited to him as she had to herself the entire morning. He looked at her and returned the smile "Yes it is. How do you feel about it?" "I feel good." She stated, "Everything is working out fine." It was amazing. George stepped down from Oversight, leaving it open for Paul. His dream had finally came true. Paul could not wait. He wondered why George left. He gave no reason. Paul figured it had something to do with the problems at Section Five. Leaks where coming from that section and many lives were in danger because of it. He had figured out about the problem even before George. Paul thought that he knew how to fix it. Whatever the reason was, he didn't really care. This was the moment that he had been waiting for. When he found out about it he knew that he needed Madeline. She was his friend and confidante. He had to find a job for her. He knew that together they would run the sections with a force that would make it unstoppable. He was able to give her one as his assistant. "What about Michael and Nikita?" he wondered. She looked at the clock. "They will be here soon." She paused for a minute and looked at him. "We were wrong about them you know." "Yes, I know." It killed him to say this. He had never been wrong about people before. He could always size a person up easily. Their talent in section was easily seen, but he did not see their strength. "It is hard to admit." "They are good." Madeline smirked, "The are probably better than what we ever were." "I would not go that far." He laughed. "I would." She stated. When they found out about them leaving, they had no problem picking their successors. They knew right away whom they wanted. Michael and Nikita showed that they were more than able to do the job. "Is everything arranged for the move?" Paul asked. "Yes. We can leave after the exchange." "Good." At that moment, a knock at the door interrupted their conversation. They both looked over to see Michael. Madeline told him to come in. He was nervous himself. This was a big day for him. He wanted to be the next Operations but he did not expect it so soon. "We're here and ready when you are." Michael confirmed. "Where is Nikita?" Madeline asked. "She is talking to Birkoff. He is getting ready to start a mission and asked her for some assistance with it." Paul's eyes lighted up. "Oh yes, the Ravi mission." This mission was his. He wanted this guy so bad that he could taste it. "How is it going so far? Have they got Ravi or any information yet?" "Not yet. They just arrived at the building and waiting for the signal to go and get him." "Make sure that they get him." Paul demanded, "There is no higher priority." Michael was going to make sure that this mission went better than usual. This would be the first mission as Operations. "Don't worry, he won't get away." "Okay then, we will meet you and Nikita downstairs in ten minutes for the exchange." After Michael left the room Madeline and Paul set down with drinks to enjoy their last moments as the leaders of the section. He took a sip and looked at her. "Do you really think that they are ready?" She did not heisted for a second before she answered. "The profiles say that they are at 98 percent capable of handling this. In a week it should be near 100." "Then we have nothing to worry about...except their relationship. Do you think that we should try to alter it again?" "That wont be necessary. They are no longer a threat. We now know that they are not going to do anything against us. It's not a problem, just a weakness. We can use it as an asset." There was a moment of silence. "You are right Madeline." He smiled, "This could be very valuable to us." *****
The exchange was simple. It only took a few minutes. People even stopped their work to watch and started talking about how things were going to be with Michael and Nikita. Would they be harsh? Would they be effective leaders? Most of the answers people had were in support of them but there were a few who were jealous. Those comments were just ignored. Paul and Madeline were gone as soon as it was over. The last thing that Paul did as the leader of section was ordering the transfer of four people from other sections. He had picked two people himself from Section Three named Brandon and Jessica. The other two operatives were from Section five. Their names were Trevor and Monica. Michael knew very little about any of them. Paul had informed Michael that these four would be arriving two hours from the time of the exchange. Nikita was still helping Birkoff. They had not yet had confirmation that Ravi was in the building. Michael looked down from the office's windows. He saw Nikita there waiting quietly with Birkoff. He left the room and started down the stairs. Nikita looked over and saw him coming. She smiled. They were now they were able to be together without hiding their feelings. All that they had been through had been worth it. As the section leaders, they had the control to run the section the way that they saw fit. She knew that they were going to have some hard times. She even thought that Paul and Madeline would try to test them, but she did not care. They could not harm them now. Michael walked right up to her. He had a cold exterior about him. "Nikita, I need to go over something with you in my office." He demanded. She wondered what was wrong. She hoped that everything was going to be fine with the mission. The one thing that her and Paul agreed on was the fact that this man had to be taken down. He was dangerous and showed no mercy on little children "Okay, I will be there in five minutes." "Fine, I need to go over something with Walter anyhow. I will met you there." Birkoff looked over at Nikita. He knew how Michael was. He also knew that his attitude was just an act. Michael did not like to look unprofessional, even when trying to make time to spend with Nikita. Birkoff looked over at her. He could tell that she didn't realize this. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "Oh, pretty good. I just hope everything is alright." She looked really worried. He just smiled. "Oh I am sure that everything will be." She remained silent for a minute. "How long do you think that we will have to wait for Ravi?" "I have no idea. He should already be there." There was something personal that he wanted to ask her. He finally got up the nerve. "Are you two going to get married now that Paul and Madeline are out of the picture?" "I don't know." She said. " I think that he might want to but I am not so sure if we will." "Well, all I can say is take your time." Birkoff smiled. "I will." She gave him a smile and started to walk to Michael's office. A feeling of excitement came over her, not because she was the new Second in Command but because she was going to see him. She had known him for eight years. After all of this time she still got the same feeling every time she saw him. Her heart even stopped with the sound of his voice. As she approached the door, she took a second just to think about him. Back in his office, Michael's hands trembled as he waited for her. He looked out the windows but she was nowhere to be found. It would not be long before she would be there. Nikita was his one weakness. He knew it and so did Paul and Madeline. Even so, was not afraid of them. Michael had Nikita in his life and they could not take her away again. He belonged to her and he was going to make sure that she knew it. As he daydreamed about her, she walked in. Michael looked over and stared. Her hair was down, falling on her shoulders which complimented her red top and knee length black skirt. She was beautiful. It did not matter if she was all fixed up and in makeup or just in jeans and a T-shirt. Even with her looks, there was so much more to her than that. She was special and he knew it. Nikita noticed that he seemed to be in a daze. She had no idea what had come over him. "You needed to see me?" she asked. "Yes." He stated. "About what?" She wondered. "I just wanted to see you. Isn't that enough?" He smiled as he walked over to her. He touched her cheek with the palm of his hands as he gently bent down to kiss her. Their moment was interrupted by a knock at the door. Birkoff emerged with a nervous look on his face. He wasted no time before giving them the news. "Sorry to bother you two but Ravi has just entered the building with an army of men. I am really going to need your help on this one."
****** With those words Michael and Nikita were transformed into mission mode. The three of them reached Birkoff's desk to see on his computer screen, fifty men in a room with Ravi going over plans. Birkoff looked at them with a worried expression on his face. "We were given faulty information by Victor so we only sent twenty men there to take him. They have fifty. Normally we could take them out but they are heavily armed and ready for us. I don't know if we can take him." Michael remained silent for a minute. He thought of all of the possibilities. He needed this mission to go well. There was no way around it. Right when something came to him, Nikita said the words. "How long are they going to stay in the room?" Birkoff looked at the screen. "We only have a minute which isn't enough time to do anything now, but we do know were they are posted. They've just stated that." Michael looked strait at him. "Good. Where are they going to be at?" Birkoff sighed, "Okay, here it goes." It was going to be hard. Michael knew that. After Birkoff told them the post, Michael came up with a plan. It was simple. The Red Team was to go to the back entrance and clear the way for the Blue Team to slide up the steps to the top floor where Ravi was. The plan was risky but they had to take the chance. Ravi needed to be taken out. Birkoff disconnected the communication between the men. He sighed as the time came to act. "Okay Neal, take the Red Team and go. Justin and the rest of the Blue Team, be on alert for Neal's signal to move in." Birkoff cried. Neal responded confidently "Okay Birkoff. We are going in." "We're waiting for our signal." Justin confirmed. The red team acted quickly. They opened a passage to the stairs for the blue team in no time at all. It was not until the blue team got to the top floor when they ran into a problem. There were too many men coming at them. Neal went around the corner and was met with two bullets. Roger from his team quickly took the two men out and saved him. They where fighting for their lives. The Blue Team could not hold them back. Finally ten men from the Red Team came to help. Within fifteen minutes they had made it to Ravi's room. Five men surrounded his room and three were in it with him. There had been losses on both ends. The red team had lost three men and the blue team lost four. They knew that Ravi's men were waiting for them so they had to act fast. Michael told them to move in. They obeyed. When they got to the room something odd happened. There were no men around when they got to the room. "Birkoff, there is no one here. I don't like this! What is going on?" demanded a bleeding Neal. "Yeah," cried Justin, "What the hell is going on?" Birkoff wasted no time. "It is a trap, they are waiting for you. GET OUT NOW!" At that moment a smoke bomb was let off and a group of men came out shooting. After the smoke cleared, A group of bodies laid on the ground. Four from section, twelve of Ravi's men. None of Ravi's men was left standing. The remaining team went in and got Ravi. There was a hideaway compartment next to his office. It was not hard for Birkoff to find it. Ravi was a tall, skinny man. Most would say he was very handsome. His long dark hair and deep blue eyes made him look more like a movie star than a terrorist. They easily took him down stairs to the back entrance. A pick up van was waiting. Backup was sent with it. They now had explosives. After the van left with Ravi, the team had to go and get some vital information about Ravi's business partners and plans. The operatives went back into the building. Upstairs, there was a group of Ravi's men in a sound proof room going over the information. Justin was able to get a gas bomb through the vent. Within seconds the men were out and Justin and Neal led their team in. The computer was already on. It did not take long for them to get the information that they needed. "Okay Justin, I got the information, get out of there before their backup arrives." Birkoff warned. "What do we do with these guys? Do we kill them or bring them in? "We got Ravi. We have no use for them." It was not hard to take out the men in the front. They used explosives. After the deed was done, everyone felt relieved. "We are out of here Birkoff." Neal confirmed. Nikita looked over at Michael. She thought she almost saw a smile. ******
As everyone was caught up in the success of the mission, the new operatives walked in. They all looked around and formed their own opinions. Jessica was happy about the arrangements. She could tell that this was going to be a lot better than Section Three. Brandon was not so sure until he walked in. Now that he had seen what Section One offered, he knew why they were moved. It was like Section Three but better. This was where he belonged. Monica did not care where she was as long as she was near Trevor. She would do anything for him. She had not made any moves but she figured that there would be time for that. Trevor himself was upset about it at first. He had already started a plan to gain power at five. Now it was ruined. Gaining power was all that mattered to him. There was only one thing that seemed to catch his attention, a beautiful blonde standing next to a few guys at a computer. After he saw her, he figured he could get power here just as well as he could at Section Five. The only thing that went through his mind was "She would be a good time." As he stared at the blonde, Monica looked over at him. She could tell that he was starring at something. Monica noticed it was a blonde. She quickly developed an opinion about the woman but she was smart enough to keep her thoughts to herself. For now. At that moment, the woman looked right at them. She said something to one of the men next to her. They talked among themselves for a second and then started to walk toward the new operatives. All four of them noticed this by now. Halfway across the room, the woman told the guy something and then went away. Trevor was disappointed. He wanted to meet her. It wasn't but a second until the man was right up to them. "Hello, My name is Michael. I am the Operations here at Section One. I take it that you are the new operatives?" At the same time they all said yes. Michael led them to his office. "Okay, all of you should have been briefed at your former section. You will be evaluated starting tomorrow. If you are as good as you should be, then you will be out in the field in two weeks. Living arrangements have already been made. My second in command, Nikita, will give you the information in an hour. Meet her here. Do not be late! This is an order. Does anyone have any questions?" Trevor wasted no time "I have one. Who was that blonde that we saw you with? Is she as a good of a time as she looks?" Michael gave him a funny look. He could only think of how stupid the guy was to ask him that. "You will find out soon enough who she is, but I will tell you one thing, don't mess with her! That will be all." As he finished talking he walked out of the room. "You sure pissed him off." Brandon said. "Just shut up. Did I ask you anything?" Trevor sassed. Monica took that moment to but her two cents in. "I know why he got so upset. She is using him to get some power. She might even have him around her little finger. I bet that she has more than him too." Jessica rolled her eyes. "You are just jealous because a certain someone likes her instead of you. So just be quiet." She didn't like Monica or Trevor for that matter. She decided to leave. "Where are you going?" Monica yelled. "None of your business!" Jessica stopped Monica right in her tracks. She was not use to being talked back to. "I am going to look around." Brandon stated. "Wanta come Jess?" "Sure." She knotted. "I am going to find that blonde," Trevor insisted. He then took a good look at Jessica and walked over to her at the door. "Unless you wanta have some fun." She didn't even give him an answer. Even though he didn't show it, this angered Brandon. Out in the hall, all of them went their separate ways. Trevor started to search for the mysterious blonde and so did Monica. Out loud to herself she declared, "I'm not going to let her have him." About five minutes after they left the room, Trevor spotted the mysterious blonde with a strange man with a gray ponytail and a bandana. He could not believe that she would be hanging out with that man. He waited five minutes for her to walk away so he could get her alone. When she started off through the halls, he ran after her. He thought that this would be a great chance. They would be totally alone. He caught up and started walking next to her. Her face was buried in a folder. He looked down to see what she was reading. He was amazed to see that it was his file. Only one thought went through his mind and that was that she must have seen him and was interested. She looked over to notice him breathing over her shoulders "Can I help you?" she asked. He whispered, "You bet you can." As he pushed her up against the wall and started kissing her. She wondered what in the world did he think that he was doing. Some guys have a lot of nerve. To stop him she kneed him were she knew it would hurt. Trevor fell straight to the floor. "Serves you right." She whispered as she walked down the hall. ******
Everyone was back in the room within an hour and sat down to wait for the mysterious Nikita. They all had heard some interesting things about her on their walk around section. The most interesting was about her and Operations. Nikita walked in exactly on time. None of them said a word. Everyone was interested in her but Trevor was shocked. He could not believe that his blonde was the famous Nikita. "As Operations told you, I am Nikita. I am going to make this short. You should have already gotten most of the information that you need. On the papers that I am handing out are your new addresses. Here are the keys. Tomorrow we are evaluating you. It will start at 6:00 am. Do not be late. If you have any problems with your place, talk to Birkoff. He will know what to do. Does anyone have any questions?" Nobody did. Even Trevor knew that this was not the time to say anything. Nikita looked at Trevor. "Can I see you for a minute?" She was not in a good mood. They walked outside the room. "What the hell gave you the idea to come up to me like that?" "I saw that you where looking at my file." "Did it ever enter your little mind to ask why?" Trevor didn't know what to say. "Just don't let it happen again." She stated as she walked away. Trevor was even more fascinated by Nikita. All of the stories about her made him even more determined to make Nikita his. The fact that she was involved with the Operations did not matter to him. That just aroused him even more. Monica listened from inside the door. For her, this confirmed her impression of Nikita. All of the good stories that she heard meant nothing. She was determined to show her for what she really was. The only thing that worried her was the fact that Nikita was Second in Command. She had a lot of power. During her walk around section she had found out that Michael and Nikita were a couple. Because of her strong influence over him she knew that she would get cancelled if she did anything outright. She didn't know how she was going to do it but she would find away out. After the meeting, Monica and Trevor went to their new homes. Jessica and Brandon stayed around. "I don't know about you Brandon, but I can't stand those two." Jessica stated. "I'm not crazy about them but if we have to work with them I guess we have to get past it. I miss Ebony, and Eric how about you?" She sighed, "Yeah, I miss them. I miss a lot about Section Three but at least Operations and Nikita seem to be better leaders. They are straight and to the point. From the stories that I heard they seem to care. That is something you can not say about Section Three." "That's the truth. Did you hear that they are a couple? I think that's interesting." "They are very interesting. It is nice to know that a relationship can work in section. What is Operations' name again?" At that moment a sound came from the door and they heard a voice say, "My name is Michael." Jessica and Brandon were horrified as they turned around to see Michael and Nikita standing at the door. Brandon and Jessica didn't mean anything by their conversation but they didn't know how Michael and Nikita would take it. "We're sorry. We didn't mean anything by what we said. It is just..." Jessica mumbled. Nikita spoke up. "That's okay. There was nothing bad said about us. I am glad that you are still here. I wanted to talk to you two. How do you like it here?" Brandon remained optimistic. "So far, so good." Michael looked at them "Your profiles show great things about you. I want to say that I am happy to have you two on our team. Nikita and I have plans for you. We will talk to you later about it." He liked them but he didn't know why. Brandon and Jessica both smiled and walked out of the room The reason that Michael liked them came to him when he looked at Nikita. Jessica and Brandon were just like them. They had something in their soul that could not be destroyed. Even in a place like section. Michael gave Nikita a kiss and went to talk to Birkoff. She picked up some files that she had to go over and went down stairs. As she was going to her office, Nikita saw Walter at his station. She decided to go to talk to him. "Hey sugar." Walter smiled, "How are you enjoying bossing everyone around?" Nikita smiled. "It has been fun so far." Walter laughed. "I bet it has, sugar, I bet it has." ******
A week later everything seemed to be going fine. Section One had ran smoothly. And surprisingly Michael and Nikita had no problems from Paul or Madeline. That night Nikita arrived home around nine. She knew that Michael wouldn't be home until late. Nikita fixed some coffee and sat down to watch a movie. She started to think about Michael. She just wanted to spend time with him. Nikita smiled every time that she realized that he felt the same way. Around eleven she decided to go to bed. Before she went to sleep she put on an old shirt of his. If she couldn't have him next to her, she thought, this would be the next best thing. About an hour later Michael came home. He was hoping to find Nikita awake. He couldn't wait to talk to her. To his disappointment, she had already gone to sleep. After he changed he went straight to Nikita and gently stroked her cheek. He has never felt this way about any other woman. Not even Simone. Nikita was special. Michael got into bed and put his arms around her. As he was about to fall asleep, Nikita woke up. She noticed his arms around her. "Hey, when did you get home?" Nikita asked. "Just about ten minutes ago." Michael answered, "I am sorry if I woke you." "No you didn't. How was everything after I left?" "Long. It was a big day. I missed you." He looked over at her to see that she had fallen back to sleep. Michael wrapped his arms back around her and gave her a kiss. A few minutes later he was also asleep. They both slept through the night until six. Nikita was the first to wake up. It was going to be a busy day. She knew she wouldn't be able to spend much time with him. While Michael lay asleep, she went into the kitchen and made French toast and fresh coffee. Ten minutes later Michael awakened to the wonderful smell. When he came downstairs, the French toast was on the table and Nikita was out on the balcony drinking coffee. Michael got himself a cup and joined her. Nikita was happy to see him. "Good morning." "Good morning." He hesitated for a minute. "I got a call from Paul after you left. There going to be a meeting tonight about the leaks in Section Five. It won't be over until late and I need you to look over section." He hated telling her this. He just wanted to stay at home with her. "Okay. I need to check on the new operatives anyhow. Today should be their last day in observation. What time is the meeting?" " Five." "I guest that we should get ready. It is going to be a big day." As she walked past him, he grabbed her, making her fall into his lap. "We still got an hour or so." She smiled and pulled him closer to her as she pressed her lips to his. ******
All of the new operatives were in the training room. They had been working for hours. Monica was on a break. She started thinking of Nikita. She wrote Nikita off as a whore, even though no one agreed with her. There was not a person in section that didn't already know that Monica said that about any girl that was prettier than her. The only one that she could not say this about was Jessica. Her reputation was too good. No one even knew why she was in section. Whatever the reason was, other than that she was SQUEAKY clean. It puzzled Monica how such a good girl could end up in section. Monica herself had been involved with a man who was ruthless. After a "wild adventure" that left three people dead, they both where caught and brought to section. He never made it. As she finally snapped out of her trance, she looked over at Brandon. He was looking over at Jessica. He then walked up to her and gave her his best smile. "Hey." She looked over at him and smiled back. "Hey, how about this place? This is a lot more advanced than Section Three ever was." "Yeah, it is. I really like it here." As they talked he starred at her. She was extremely beautiful. She was slender but had curves, which she showed off well. Some people said she looked like a version of Nikita but that came out more in the radiance that she showed. Even so they did share some features. They both had long straight hair that came down to the middle of their back, a pretty face, and glowing skin. Jessica was even Nikita's height but her skin was tanned, and her hair was jet black. You wouldn't ever think of them as sisters but you could admire the presence of one as well as the other. Monica looked at them talking and saw this as an opportunity to find the answer to her question. She started to walk up to them. "Hi, what are you two talking about?" "Section." Jessica answered. "Just what was on my mind. There was a question I wanted to ask you, Jess." Jessica noticed the look on Monica's face. She was afraid of what she might want to know. "Okay, what is it?" "You are a clean cut girl who hasn't gotten into any trouble," She grinned, "why in the world would a girl like you be in section?" A horrified look came to Jessica's face. It all came rushing back to her. Her tanned skin turned white as a ghost. She whispered "Excuse me," and ran into the locker room. Brandon ran after her. He found her sitting on a bench, crying. When she saw him she started laughing. "You know you are not allowed in here." He smiled back. "Are you going to turn me in?" She just laughed. He sat down next to her. "What happened to you?" She took a minute. It had been years since it happened. "I don't want to talk about it." Brandon wouldn't except that. "Come on, Jess. This is me, NOT Monica." Jessica knew he was right. She took a deep breath, "About five years ago I was raped. When the man was set free without being charged I got angry and killed him. You know the rest." Brandon was horrified to hear this. How could anyone do that to her. She looked up at him, "What about you?" A humble look came to his eyes. "I was with a friend. I just turned twenty-one so he took me to a bar. Well... my friend got drunk. There was a guy who started bothering us. After a while he stopped. As we where leaving, we noticed the guy coming out too. My friend, being drunk, started bothering him. The next thing I know someone got out a knife and then they were at it. I tried to get the knife away but they were already too far-gone. When I finally got the knife away, the police came. The man was dead but amazingly my friend wasn't hurt. No one else was around. My finger prints where on the knife and I guess I wiped off the others. To make a long story short, my friend got scared and blamed me and they believed him." He paused for a second. "Come on, let's go back out there." He put his arms around her shoulders and they went back to training. This gave Jessica a new view of Brandon. She already knew that he was kind and she thought that he was handsome. Tall and built would be the only way to describe him. His muscles told anyone not to mess with him but he had the most innocent deep blue eyes. They were a perfect contrast to his shoulder-length brown hair. The beautiful soft waves fell on his shoulders so well that it would put Brad Pitt to shame. He could catch anyone's attention just walking down the street. When he was with Jess, they were unmistakable. They seemed to set each other off even more. As Jessica walked out the door with him, something more came to her. She really admired him. He was caring and compassionate. This she could only say about a few people. Everything was going as planned at section. When Nikita arrived, The new operatives had already started. All four of them noticed her when she walked in. She was wearing a nice white blouse with a dark blue mini skirt. Every guy in the room turned to admire her beauty. So did the girls. Nikita walked up to them. She had noticed their skills and complimented them on it. Jessica looked at Nikita with admiration. She could tell that Operations loved her and she loved Operations. To Jessica they shined whenever they were together. This was something that she had never seen before. Jessica also respected Nikita's leadership. She could see that Nikita was beautiful but she was not intimidated by it like Monica. Brandon also looked over at Nikita. He admired her beauty but he respected her as his leader and her relationship with Michael. He also had been admiring someone else for quite some time, Jessica. He had fell for her back at Section Three when they started training. Trevor stared for a while. He wanted Nikita but he knew that this was not the time. Michael had to be taken out of the picture first. Trevor had a plan and it would not be long before it would be in action. After she left, Trevor saw that now was the time to start his plan. He would need someone's help. He thought of Jessica because she was beautiful. The only problem with her was that she was too innocent. She would never help him. Not like this. He looked around. He noticed Monica looking at him. She was not as pretty as Jessica was but she would work. She had short blond hair, which anybody could easily tell was not natural. It came down just passed her chin. Her brown eyes made an interesting contrast. She was short and very skinny with a figure that didn't really compliment her. Trevor took a second look at her. With the right dress and makeup she should do the trick. He walked up to her. She noticed this and started to get excited. He himself was average height. Trevor was good-looking but not really handsome. Nobody would pick him out of a crowd unless he was showing off. He had the look of a wise guy. His dirty blonde hair fell on his ears ever so slightly. And light skin, which went good with his pale bluish-gray eyes. He gave her his biggest smile. Which always turned into a cocky grin. "Hey Monica, would you like to go out for dinner after this is over? I have something to ask you." She was mesmerized. "Yeah, I would love to." His plan was simple. No one would even know that he had anything to do with it. At dinner that night, Monica had on her sexiest dress. It was a short blue dress that didn't hide anything. She had her bleach blonde hair down. Her makeup was heavy and bright. Needless to say that she looked like a working girl. When she walked in, Trevor knew that she would be the perfect one to help him. "Hey, I am glad you could make it." Trevor said but he really knew that she wasn't going to stand him up. Her feelings for him were well known. All through dinner Trevor buttered her up. Nibbling on her ear and kissing her passionately on the lips. He knew that he had her right where he wanted her. He stopped for a minute and looked straight at her. "Monica, remember when I said that I wanted to ask you something?" "Yeah." She asked. "I need your help with a little matter." "Well... what is it?" His cocky grin appeared once again. "Tomorrow Nikita is off. I had some cameras put a special room in section." Monica was confused. "What is it that you actually want me to do?" He leaned in closer to her and whispered, "What I need you to do is seduce Operations." Monica was furious. She knew exactly why he wanted her to do that. It would take Michael out of the picture and allow him to go after Nikita. Even with knowing this Monica seen it as an opportunity. Nikita loves Michael, taking him away would tear her up. She could always get Trevor back but this was her chance to get back at Nikita. "Okay Trevor I will help you. Tell me what to do." *****
The next day, Trevor waited for Monica at section. It was around nine and she was supposed to meet him at eight. When Monica finally came, she was prepared, wearing a pair of tight black pants and a green tank top. "You are late." He snapped. "I know. Don't get so upset. Things will still go as planned. Give me a few hours and I will have it done." "Good. This is very important. I am counting on you. Okay the room with the cameras is down the hall. It's the only one with the door open. Move him from his office into that room." "Why not just put the cameras in his office?" "Stupid, only Nikita and him have the code to get in." "Don't get so uptight." She smiled and walked away. She was not going to let him down. Michael was in his office. All of the missions for the day were done. He was getting ready to leave in an hour to go home. Michael could see that Monica was walking up the stairs and wondered what she could want. He did not even wait for her knock before he told her to come in. "Operations, do you have a minute?" "Yes but that is about all. What do you need?" "I wanted to talk to you about the Baghdad mission." He thought about it for a second. "Okay." As they talked about the mission, the time went by. It seemed that the plan was working. Michael was actually enjoying the conversation. He was surprised to find out that Monica could have a sensible discussion. They talked for an hour about different things. Monica was feeling pretty confident that Michael was going to fall for it. He didn't expect a thing. She got up to get a drink. She saw this as her chance to act. When she came back to sit down, she took the seat next to him. This alarmed Michael but he didn't think that she meant anything by it. After ten minutes, she made another move. While Michael was talking, she moved closer and gave him a passionate kiss on the lips. At that moment, Michael knew exactly what was going on and couldn't believe that she had the nerve. He immediately pulled away and took a minute to regain his control. If he didn't, she would have been sent to disposal faster than she could think. Michael then looked right into her eyes. "What are you thinking? I am with Nikita. I love her. I don't know why you did this but I am going to end this now!" He walked to the door and turned around. "Shut the door on your way out." Monica could not believe that he rejected her. After Michael left the room, she followed. Trevor wondered what happened. They had been in there for an hour and a half. He ran up to her. "What happened?" "He didn't fall for it." Tears started to fall down her eyes. "Just leave me alone." She cried as she ran out of section. This wasn't good. Trevor knew he had to do something. Nikita had to be his. It was just the way things had to be. He was too frustrated to think. His frustration was what got him in section in the first place. To calm down, he decided to check his e-mail. Trevor received three letters. Two was junk mail but the third one fascinated him. It was an anonymous e-mail that gave him a detailed plan to destroy Michael. As he read on he smiled. This was even better than his plan. He could get Nikita and power at the same time. He would have to plan it carefully and he would still need Monica's help, but in a matter of time he would be the leader of section. Trevor immediately went to Monica's place. He knew that she would be there. Monica opened the door the second that she saw it was him. "Hi Trevor, come in." she said. He smiled and made himself at home. He wasted no time telling her his plan. She gave it some thought. Monica knew that they would be canceled if it didn't work but she could not tell him no. Once again he told her what to do and she followed. As he was leaving the apartment, one thing crossed his mind. Who sent him the e-mail? ******
A few months later, things were going great at one. Even the leaks from Section Five had stopped. Michael and Nikita had never been happier. Paul and Madeline were very pleased with their accomplishments as well. One big change that took place in section was with Jessica and Brandon. In the short time that they had been at Section One, they had proven themselves as great leaders. As a reward they were given more power. Brandon and Jessica ran section when Michael or Nikita were not present. On that day, Nikita walked into section as usual. It was just an ordinary day. The first person that she wanted to see was Jessica. Nikita needed her and Brandon to run the section the next day because she and Michael had plans to spend the day together. Nikita spotted her talking to Birkoff, and walked right up to her. "Hey Jess. How's everything going?" She looked up from the computer screen. "Hey. Brandon talked to Michael. We'll be happy to work tomorrow. Where you two going?" "Don't know. Michael won't tell me." She paused for a second. "Let's go to my office." They said their good-bye's to Birkoff and started walking. Neither noticed the smile on his face. He knew exactly what was going to happen tomorrow. As Nikita and Jessica walked, they both remained silent. Brandon was sitting at a computer nearby. Nikita wasn't the first to spot him. She looked over and saw that Jessica already had her eyes fixed in that direction. There was a familiar look in her eyes. A look that Nikita herself had gave Michael many times before. She finally broke the silence. "I don't mean to pry but what's the story with you and Brandon? Are you two a couple?" Jessica wasted no time answering. "I wish. But we are just friends. Please don't tell anyone that." "I won't. I know how you feel." Nikita looked at her and smiled. "Don't worry, it will work out." Just hearing the words made Jessica feel better. "Thanks." After the day was over, Michael went to Nikita's office. She was finishing up some preparations for an upcoming mission. "Nikita, are you ready to go home?" She shut down her computer and grabbed her coat. "Yeah, I can't wait to get out of here." She walked over to him and whispered seductively in his ear. "Let's go." He put his hands in hers and gave her a passionate kiss. ******
The next day, Michael got up early. He was extremely excited. He had been waiting to do this ever since the day he met Nikita. Around eight he woke her with a breakfast tray. As they ate in bed, she realized once again how much she loved him. They got up and started getting ready for their day. While Nikita was in the shower, Michael went to his suitcase and took out a small box. He quickly put it in his coat pocket as she came out of the bathroom. They arrived in Paris at lunchtime. The first thing that they did was to take a walk in the park. It was springtime and everything was beautiful. There, Michael gave her twelve long stem roses. At five o'clock, they went to dinner. Michael has made reservations at a little café near the edge of town. When they walked in, the owner took them to a private area where no one would be around. It had one table and was decorated with candles and flowers all around it. The dinner consisted of all of Nikita's favorite foods. She loved it. She loved spending time with Michael. Michael just loved to see her happy. She did not think that things could get any better. After they finished eating, Michael took her hand. She bent over and gave him a loving kiss. This made him think about what he was about to do. He had no regrets. At that moment he took something out of his pocket and got down on one knee. "Nikita, things have been going good for us but I believe we can make them better. Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Nikita was speechless. She had no idea that he was going to do this. She gave him her biggest smile and got down on the floor with him. She placed her hands with his and whispered in his ear "With all of my heart." There was no way that she was going to turn him down. *******
Nikita wasted no time going to tell Walter what had happened. The next day when they arrived at section, the first place she went was his workstation. She had a feeling that he probably already knew but she just had to tell someone. As she walked into his station, he gave her his usual warm greeting. "Hey sugar. What is new?" She smiled and raised her left hand to show her two-carat diamond with a sapphire on each side of it. Walter smiled back. He already knew about it. Michael had came to him and Birkoff to help him get the ring. He had to hide it from Nikita and without their help, it was impossible. "Wow! When did he pop the question? "As if you didn't know. I bet you even found the ring for him." She grinned. "What makes you think that sugar?" He smiled, giving himself away. She was very perceptive. Nikita gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked out into the hall. After the same conversation with Birkoff, Nikita checked files and missions like any other day. She didn't go around telling everyone but people did notice that she had a smile on her face. Nikita walked into Michael's office. She was disappointed to not find him there. Then she remembered that he was giving a briefing on a mission. She looked out of the windows to see Jessica arrive. The day before Jessica had run section and Jessica needed to talk to her about it. Nikita walked back into her office. She looked around for a minute. She remembered when it was Madeline's. The furniture was different but she did take up gardening. There was now a better understanding of the years before, even if she still didn't like Madeline. Being in her shoes showed Nikita what it must have been like. After a minute she got on her intercom and told Jessica that she would like to have a meeting with her around nine. When Jessica arrived, they talked about the day before. It wasn't until Nikita raised her left hand to get some papers that Jessica saw the ring on her finger. "You and Operations are getting married! That is great. When did he propose?" Nikita smiled. "Last night over dinner." "I am so happy for you." "Thanks." Somewhere in there conversation, some work got done. A file was needed to review a mission. Nikita quickly realized it was in Operations' office. They both got up and went straight there. While Nikita was grabbing the file, Jessica looked out the window. She saw Trevor preparing for a mission. This reminded her of a question she had. Nikita would surely have the answer. Without taking her eyes away from the window, she calmly started talking. "Nikita, You know that Trevor can be a creep. What did he do to get into section and how in the world did he make it? He just doesn't seem to have a practical mind. That is the most important thing needed here." Nikita smiled and came over to the window next to Jessica. "Well, he got into section by robbing and killing a man at a gas station but I am not sure how he made it. You were right when you said he is not practical. Come on, let's get back to my office." After three hours, the "meeting" was over. It was highly enjoyed by both of them. Nikita needed a good girl talk and so did Jessica. Nikita told Jessica about the things that happened in her and Michael's relationship. This gave Jessica new hope that maybe Brandon would someday be hers. Both of the girls went back to their work. At first Jessica was dreading this day. She had a lot of files and would be in section until late into the night. The talk with Nikita made it seem a lot more enjoyable. After her conversation with Jessica, Nikita assisted Birkoff with a mission. Trevor was on the other side of the room getting ready for a mission of his own. He noticed her right away. Nikita always shined. He had a good view of her from where he was standing. She didn't even see him. Something sparkled when she put her hand to the light. When he noticed that it was, he just laughed and mumbled to himself, "That's what they think. Operations and my Nikita getting married, what a laugh." He and Monica had been putting together their plan for months now. It was almost done. They just had to carry it out. Now with this news it had to be done soon. He found the nearest computer and wrote a letter to his partner. By this time only Trevor knew who it was. "The plan is ready. We will be taking action soon. We will finally have total power and they will not know what hit them. Did you hear that he gave her a ring? What a joke! Too bad that he won't be around to meet her at the altar. She won't even miss him when we get this done." After he fixed the letter so it couldn't be found or traced, Trevor sent it and went on with his work. As he was walking through the halls, he passed Brandon. It was around lunchtime. Brandon looked around and spotted Jessica at a computer. He wasted no time going over to talk to her. "Busy, Jess?" She was shocked to see him. "Yeah, I'm going to be here all night. Man, I never knew there was so much paperwork." He laughed. "Yeah, it can add up. Want some help?" "Definitely. Maybe I'll make it home tonight." He immediately pulled up a chair. "Great, what are we doing?" At midnight Brandon and Jessica were still working. Neither seemed to care. They were really enjoying themselves. After they stopped goofing off for a while they went back to the computer. The work was almost done. Brandon took a drink of his soda and picked up another slice of pizza. Just at that moment, Jessica's eyes became as bright as the sun and her skin turned as pale as a ghost. Brandon remembered that look. "What is the matter?" "You've got to see this!" He looked over and read the file. Once he saw it, he knew why she seemed so scared. She had came across a file field with letters about the killing Michael. "What do we do Brandon? These letters are about Operations! We can't let that happen. Maybe Birkoff is still here?" "Good idea. I'll go get him and Walter. I think he's is here too." "Hurry!" Brandon quickly went and brought them. They were reluctant but he convinced them. About five minutes later, all the three guys returned to the computer. Birkoff sat down next to Jessica. "Okay, what's the problem?" "Just read this." She stuttered. After he looked at the letters, Birkoff was even scared. "Walter, you gotta take a look at this." Walter read the letters and looked back at Birkoff. "Man, this isn't kid stuff." Brandon gave him a smart look. "We know Walter. We know. Something has to be done. Got any ideas?" None of them had an answer to the question. They talked about it for a while. Birkoff tried to find the source but it was impossible. The person covered their tracks well. The letters didn't even give any idea of when or how it was going to happen, just that it would. Birkoff figured those letters where deleted. An hour after they were found, the phone rang at Michael and Nikita's. They were both asleep. Michael picked it up. "Hello." After a second, he put the phone down and looked over at Nikita. "We have a problem." ******
Around one-thirty all four of them arrived at Nikita and Michael's apartment. All Michael was told over the phone was that a major situation had came up and they would come over soon. When they arrived, Michael and Nikita were waiting for them. "Okay, what's the problem?" Birkoff decided to tell him. "Here it is. Jessica and Brandon were going over files and they came across one that was interesting. I have saved it on this panel." Michael went to the computer and checked it out for himself. Nikita was right behind him. Michael looked at Birkoff. "Like I said, what's the problem? I am the leader of section, I am going to have threats. Even Paul did." "The difference with this is that it is inside section. Look at the program. Only someone inside could had used it. Also, they talk about section business. Only insiders have access to some of this stuff. Michael, whoever it is has access to you. For all we know they could come strait up to your office. These few letters say a lot." Nikita took this moment to inter in on the conversation. "So what your saying is that someone inside section is planning to kill Michael and we have no idea who." "Exactly." This scared Nikita but Michael kept a cool head. "Have you tried to find the source and is this all the information that you have found?" "Yes." Birkoff stated, "There is no way to find the source. I have already tried. I really am not for sure how they even came across these letters. They were hidden very well." "How did you decode these?" Michael asked. "For some reason these were not even put into a code. They where left like this. I guess whoever wrote them didn't think anyone would find them." Nikita looked over the letters. "These don't seem to tell much about what is going to happen." "I know. I think the real important ones were deleted. If you noticed, the conversation in the letters seems to be missing things. Some of them must have been deleted." "Michael," Nikita trembled, "I think we should call Paul and Madeline." "What if it is them. I wouldn't put this past them." Walter stated. She looked back at him. "This can't be them. They are better off with us in Section One and besides, they have nothing against us right now. Also, it is someone inside section." She walked over to Michael. "Please," "I will call." Michael stated. He used to risk his life every time he went on a mission. Now that he had Nikita by his side, he wanted to live. Even though he wouldn't show it, he was scared. This fear came from the idea of being without Nikita. Paul and Madeline arrived at the apartment at two. They looked at the letters. "Well." Paul sneered. "Looks like you have a problem." Michael sneered back. "Yes, I do." Hours later they were all still in the apartment, thinking about what to do. Paul was sitting quietly in the corner drinking a glass of scotch. Only one idea came to his mind. He thought that it was worth a shot. "Michael, I have a solution, but you might not want to do it." Michael was willing to do anything at this point. "Let's hear it." "I need someone to shape up Section Five. The leaks hurt their ability. They are also far behind the other sections. It is a real mess. This will take some time but I want you to do it." He took a second and looked back at Michael. "I'll give you a new identity. No one out of this room will know where you are." Michael couldn't believe what he was hearing. He wouldn't consider it. "Isn't that a little extreme? Shaping them up will take years. That is too far away from Nikita. Besides, Jordan is better for the job." "Michael, your life is danger. This is not like it is some terrorist that you can hide from. It's someone on your team. When you walk into section, they are going to be waiting for you. I can move you to Section Five without anyone even knowing." Paul paused, "Yes, it will take some time. But until we find the trader, what other choice do you have." "He's right Michael," pleaded Nikita. "We'll be able to be together soon. It won't be that long. Please go." Michael gave Nikita a sad look. "If I go, I will not be able to come back until this is over and that could be years. I WILL NOT BE AWAY FROM YOU THAT LONG! I refuse to lose you. Like I said before, I can't live without you." "Michael, what do you expect me to do if they get to you? GO! We will lose each other for sure that way." Within two hours Nikita convinced Michael to go. Around six, everyone got ready for work. Nikita went to section. Michael couldn't step outside the apartment until it was time for him to leave. Nikita hated it. She was about to lose Michael. She wanted to be with him. The day went by so slowly. When she finally went home, Michael ran to Nikita and wrapped her in his arms. Paul and Madeline have already made the plans. This would be the last time they would see each other until this was over. In his mind, Michael feared that he would never see her again. He didn't know but Nikita felt the same way. Around midnight Michael was ready to leave. Nikita was sitting in the chair. She didn't want to face the fact that he was leaving. He walked over to her and softly gave her a kiss. "I have to go. Don't worry. We will be together again." She tried to smile but she was scared. "You take care of yourself." As he was walking out the door, he stopped and turned around. "Nikita, I love you." She was touched by the comment. She gave him a smirk. "I love you too." After the door closed, she went straight to the balcony. From there she saw him get into the car and drive away. When he was officially out of sight, Nikita went inside, fell to the floor and started to cry. ******
For the next two months things at section went on as usual. Nikita became very involved in her new role as Operations. She had made Brandon her Second in Command. Ever since they found the notes, no one was able to find out any new information. Birkoff was still trying to find the source. He knew that there had to be more. Somewhere there still had to be one that stated who, how, and when. He just hoped they were not all deleted. Looking for them proved to be a challenge. He was having no luck. As for the people in section, they were told that Michael was going on a secret mission for Oversight and wouldn't be back until his job was done. Although everything was going good for Nikita at Section, she was in turmoil. She slept at Section ever since Michael left. She never went home. It was like pretending he was there waiting for her even though she knew he wasn't. The only thing that kept her going was putting her energy into her work. Nikita concealed her feelings well. The only ones that could tell were Walter and Birkoff. Birkoff decided to go to Walter's workstation to talk about her. Like always, he was there. "Hey Walter." He greeted. "Birkoff, what's up?" "To be honest I wanted to talk about Nikita." Walter gave him a funny look. "What about her?" "What about her! I am worried about Nikita. Ever since Michael left, she has been acting differently. She hasn't been home for I don't know how long, she is always working and she seems to be upset all of the time." "I know. She misses him. Hopefully he will be back soon. Listen, don't worry so much. I hate it too but all we can do is be there for her. " Birkoff smiled. "Yeah, I guess you are right," he said and walked back to his desk. He then started working on a mission. About a half an hour later, Nikita came out of her office. She went to help Birkoff. He didn't have the heart to tell her she was not needed. She was really having a hard time. For about two weeks now he had noticed that she had the flu. While she was trying to help him, Birkoff could tell that it was getting worse. After the mission was over, he followed Nikita back to her office. "Hey, do you need something?" "Yeah, I was wondering if we could talk?" "Sure. What is on your mind?" "You." She was shocked. "Me? Why?" "You never go home, you are always working and it is obvious that you are sick. Please talk to me." She sat down. "It has been hard you know. I miss him. I wouldn't mind as much if I knew when or if he was ever coming back." She looked into his eyes and gave him a smile. "I will be fine. It will just take time. Thanks for caring. " "Take some downtime and take care of that flu." A strange look came to Nikita's face. She put her head in her hands. She then pulled her head up and looked straight at him. "I don't have the flu. I am pregnant." Birkoff was shocked, "Nikita, does Michael know?" "No, I didn't find out until after he left." "What are you going to do?" "What choice do I have? I am going to have the baby and keep quiet for now. Hopefully one day he will be back. I will just cope until then." "Does anyone else know?" "I told Madeline and Paul. They are okay with it." "That is a relief." "Tell me about it. It wasn't sure how I expected them to react." Birkoff laughed and then a sympathetic look appeared on his face. "Nikita, if you need anything I am here. Please don't forget that." "I won't. And Hey Birkoff... Don't spread this around." As he was leaving her office he sternly stated. "I won't." She didn't want anyone to know. She knew that she would start to show in a few months but until then it was her secret. She was happy to be having a baby. She wanted something that was a part of Michael that belonged to her. She hoped that he would be back in time to help her through this. Nobody found out who was the one how wrote the notes. They tried and tried but it was impossible. As she thought about Michael, she started to get real sleepy. It was getting late and she didn't want to stay at section another night. The only choice was to go back home. On her way out Walter caught her. "Hey sugar, Birkoff just told me. I am happy for you. Do you need anything?" She smiled. She should have known Birkoff could not keep this a secret. It would be all over section within days. "No, but thanks anyway Walter." "Going home, that is good. You should not spend so much time here." She looked up, smiled slightly and walked away. When she got home, the apartment seemed even emptier than she remembered. She decided to go straight to bed. Her rest was disturbed by a knock at the door. She got up to see who it was. She looked at the screen to see a tall man. She could not see his face because it was turned away from the camera. She got her gun out and opened the door. The man walked into the apartment and shut the door. Nikita was just about to take action but something told her not to. At that moment the man took off his hat and jacket. Nikita looked up with amazement. It was Michael. "What are you doing here? We haven't found out who is after you yet." He remained silent and took her in his arms. He finally whispered, "I missed you. I have been waiting for you to come home." "I have been staying at section a lot." "I'll have to leave soon. Do you have to go in?" "I can call Jessica." Just as Michael was about to bend down to give her a passionate kiss, Nikita was awoken by the alarm. Even though it was just a dream, it made her feel a lot better.
****** Trevor was very happy. Everything was going great. In the next twenty-four hours he would have power over section, and Nikita and Monica by the side. He walked down the halls of section just thinking about all of it being his. Now that Michael was out of the picture, things should go very smoothly. His partner had tried to find where he was without success. Wherever he was, he was no longer a problem. As Trevor looked around, he happened to see Jessica at her desk talking to Brandon. He knew that they cared for each other. Trevor's one ability was to be able to tell when someone had fallen for another. As he stared at her, an idea entered his mind. He was getting bored and thought it would be fun to play around with her. He walked right up to her in his friendliest manor. "Hey Jess, I need your help for a minute." He knew that she wasn't expecting anything. She trusted too much. "Please, I would owe you big time." he pleaded, knowing she would fall for it in a heartbeat. It thrilled him thinking about what was going to happen. He felt no remorse. He was doing her a favor by teaching her a lesson. She said bye to Brandon and got up to follow Trevor to the room. When they got into the room Trevor locked the door. Jessica started to get scared. This was too familiar to her. "What's going on Trevor?" He looked her up and down. "You are the prettiest girl in section besides Nikita. I just want to have a little fun. That's all." "I don't know what you expect but nothing is going to happen here." He just laughed and stared to come closer. Jessica began to get scared. "Let me go!" she demanded. He started to laugh even harder. She tried to use her training against him but it was hard to fight someone who had the same training and knew your moves up and down. He finally got her down on the ground. As he ripped her blouse open, she screamed for dear life. Back at the desk, Brandon was thinking about Trevor asking Jessica for help. He had a bad feeling about the whole thing. To make himself feel better, he decided to go and check on them. As he got closer to the rooms, the feeling got worse. He finally got to the room. Brandon heard someone screaming. He was horrified when he realized that it was Jessica. No one was going to harm her without killing him first. He typed in the combination that Nikita gave him when he became Second in Command. The door opened and he saw Trevor on top of Jessica. He quickly grabbed Trevor and gave him a dose of his "special" training. Brandon knew what happened to her in her past and realized that this must had brought back those memories. Out of breath, he managed to whisper "Jessica are you okay?" She knotted her head yes and started crying. Brandon could tell that Trevor gave her a bad beating. He walked over and put his arms around her. "You know Jess, I would not let anyone hurt you." He picked her up and carried her to Med. Lab. ******
Michael had already started working at Section Five at four in the morning. He had to do something to keep him occupied. Since he could not have what he needed, work was the next best thing. He would feel so much better if he could see Nikita. He wanted her to be there with him. After his daily check on her, he reviewed files for hours. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He decided to start to search for some missing medical supplies. It was one of his duties at Section Five. Files from all of the sections showed that medical supplies everywhere had been used more often than they should have been. Michael was for sure that they were being stolen. He soon found himself searching Section One's files. He hoped that he would find the answer there. Nothing was wrong but one file was interesting. It was titled pregnancy. "Pregnant, who's pregnant?" He thought to himself. Michael clicked on the file to see who it was. When it file came up, he was stunned with amazement. It was Nikita. He was going to be a father again. He just closed the file and smiled. This time he would be the father that he wanted to be. Nikita didn't need to go through it alone. He looked at the clock. If he left that night, he could be with her in the morning. Michael knew that it was risky but it was worth it. He went back to the computer to get a little work done before he left. He looked back at Five's files. The problems with the mission supplies then seemed to fall there. After some searching Michael realized that Trevor and "his friends" were to blame. But how could Trevor get past all of the paperwork? According to the files it was not just medicine, but weapons as well. Surely someone would had noticed this when he was at five. Then a bell rang with Michael. He then went straight to the Operation's office and checked the files at Section Five. He would be in a lot of trouble if someone saw him. But he knew he wouldn't get caught. No one was there. He got on the computer and before long was in Trevor's real file. His worse suspicions were true. In a classified file, Michael found out about Trevor and his past. He had been in a lot of trouble. The leader of five was involved in illegal business. He stole money, dealt with the enemy, among other things. Trevor found out and wasted no time blackmailing him. The leader did anything he wanted. Before long Trevor was working with him. Michael realized that the leaks stopped as soon as he became Operations. That was the very day Trevor came to one. But why? The former leader of Section Five had been cancelled with all of his helpers. Why was Trevor saved? It must have been a cover-up or something. But who would want to help him? Michael couldn't figure that one out. Something else bothered Michael. What was the real reason Trevor was in section? No longer did he fall for the story about a gas station. After some search, he was able to find the answer to that question. Trevor was sent to Section because of his escapades with women. He had been known to fall hard and when they didn't return his feelings, he killed them. Another question developed in Michael's mind. Why was that kept from everyone at one? Michael then thought of Nikita. He remembered that Trevor was infatuated with her. She was also mentioned in a few of the letters. Michael then got them out to read them again. This scared Michael. If he was right Nikita was in trouble but there were too many questions left unanswered. The most important one had to be who was his partner? Everyone knew he didn't have the mind for this. It would have to be someone with a great mind that knew section up and down. Whoever it was, had to have been planing this from the beginning. Then something really clicked. Whoever it was would've had the power to transfer Trevor to One. Michael checked the letters once again. With one code in the corner of one of the letters, Michael confirmed his suppositions of Trevor's partner's identity. Everything came together now. There was no doubt about it; Nikita was in real danger. He picked up a few things from his room and was out of there in minutes. ******
Trevor woke up on the floor in severe pain. He had some pills that he had stolen. He popped in three and looked at the clock. The plan must be started in twelve hours. Trevor wasn't going to try to hide from Brandon. He knew that Jessica in still in Med. Lab and Brandon would be with her. Even so, Brandon soon would be coming after him. Trevor didn't care. He figured that he could take him. Just because he was six-two and built did not mean a thing. He looked up at the windows. Trevor stared endlessly at Nikita as she walked around the room. He knew that she was pregnant, almost everyone at section did. Even so, he didn't care. All he was thinking about was that needed to make his move and fast. He started to walk to the office. Nikita saw him coming. She couldn't stand him. As he approached, she shuttered. "Hey Nikita...I am sorry, Operations, got a minute?" "Yeah Trevor, I need to talk to you." "Good." He closed the door and went over and tried to kiss her. She couldn't stand his touch. To show him where he stood, she punched him, knocking him to the ground. "What in the world makes you think that I would have anything to do with you? I have been informed about what you did to Jessica. That is grounds for cancellation. I plan to see that you are." Trevor was furious. She didn't want HIM. He could not believe it. He got up of the floor and looked her in the eyes. "I hope you are not waiting for your precious Michael. He'll never come back. If he ever does, he will be making a big mistake." Nikita was stunned. "It is you. You are the one who is trying to kill Michael." Nikita locked the door and placed her hand on her hip and took out her gun. She pointed it right at him. YOU ARE DEAD!" As she was about to pull the trigger, Monica came up behind her and gave her a shot. Nikita fell to the ground. Trevor looked up at Monica. "How did you get in here?" She smiled, " I followed you up here. I was just discreet. "I would say." He looked at Nikita motionless on the floor. "Why did ya do that?" "Because, STUPID, she doesn't want you. She loves Michael. SHE WAS GOING TO KILL YOU FOR CRING OUT LOUD! You can't have her but at least this way you can get the power you always wanted." Trevor finally understood. He got a cart, covered her up and moved her out. Some people noticed but they thought it was just supplies. Trevor then put her in a car and Monica drove off. On the way to the top floor office Trevor thought about what to do with Nikita. He knew what Monica would say. The only thing to do was to kill her. But they would keep her until they didn't need her anymore. Monica returned about an hour later. As they walked through the halls of section, he looked at Monica. "It's time." She smiled with a devious grin. "Yes it is." They where soon joined by an army of men. Most from Section Five. When they arrived at the office, they wasted no time. Trevor was the first to talk. "Attention everyone. There has been a switch in power. I'm the new Operations and Monica is my Second in Command. As you know Michael has been gone for a while. Now, Nikita is gone too. She is okay and she will continue to be as long as things go smoothly. These men that you see are friends. They are going to help you. Oh, and don't worry about Oversight coming to help. I got them under control. That will be all." Everyone was horrified. If they didn't go along Nikita would be killed. Trevor and Monica were the only ones who knew where she was. The source of men didn't hurt them either. It looked like they had successfully gained the power. The first chance he got, Birkoff went to talk to Walter. He started to talk in a low whisper. "Hey. Walter I have a question. You have been here longer than any of us. You should know the answer. Do you think that they will hurt Nikita?" Walter didn't waste any time answering. "If they have not already killed her, they will. Make no mistake of that." Birkoff started to panic. "We have to do something." He looked over at Monica walking around like she was managing. "Can you believe Monica? She thinks that she is the best thing that happened to section. She doesn't do anything." "I know. I can't stand her or Trevor. Never have. I like Jessica and Brandon." "Yeah, They disappeared. What happened to them?" Walter looked out the door and took Birkoff in the back room. "He took her into a hiding place. After what happened he knew that Trevor would surly make her his pet now." "He was right. Have you had any contact with Michael?" Birkoff asked hopefully. "No, it's been too risky. They have been watching me constantly. I guess Trevor noticed that I was friends with them and expects me to. He is probably watching you too." "Oh he is. Make no mistake on that. He must suspect that we can get in touch with him. For Nikita's sake, we can't let him know that we can. Once he has Michael, he has no use for Nikita except for reasons best left unthought." Birkoff looked up at Walter with a look of realization. "Hey, we better not spend to much time together. He will know that something is up." "You're right. And, hey Birkoff, take care of yourself." He smiled, "You too Walter," and walked away. ******
Michael arrived at the apartment around nine. He was hoping that Trevor hadn't started his plan yet but he couldn't find Nikita anywhere. Something was up but he hoped that Nikita wasn't hurt. His uncontrollable emotions directed him straight to section. When he finally arrived there, he knew enough from experience, not to let people see him. Through the corner that he was hiding, he could see Trevor and Monica in the window of the top floor office, which was rightfully his. He thought to himself that he would have to have it fumigated when this was all over. He could see Birkoff but couldn't contact him. He looked over and saw Walter walking right toward him. When he got close enough Michael grabbed him and took him around the corner. Walter's life flashed before him until he saw that it was Michael. "Good grief, you scared the living daylights of me!" He then realized that this was his chance. "Michael, Trevor and Monica have taken power and they have Nikita tucked away somewhere. Those men that are helping him are from Section Five. That is all that they have told us. As far as we know, Nikita is okay for now." "I know, this is what I need you to do. Get me some weapons and bring Birkoff over here." "Right away." Walter was happy now. He knew that Michael wouldn't let anyone hurt Nikita. He had a smile on his face when he arrived at Birkoff's desk. Birkoff gave him a funny look. "Why are you in such a good mood?" "Just follow me and I will show you." They stopped off at Walter's station and grabbed the best guns he had. Birkoff looked at him with amazement. "What are you doing? Are you crazy?" At that moment Trevor came over. "What are you doing with those guns?" Walter was a fast thinker "Oh, there is a problem with them. I was going to take them to get looked at. Can't have unreliable weapons on missions." "Good, carry on." And he walked away. Walter and Birkoff both rolled their eyes. After he was out of sight, Walter looked over at Birkoff and said, "Okay. Now follow me." As they walked Birkoff got even more confused. "Walter was this all about?" Walter didn't say anything until they turned the corner. Birkoff was stunned to see Michael. "Okay, that's what this is about!" Birkoff shocked smile on his face. "Michael! I can't believe you're here." "Believe it." He whispered. "I need your help. Where are Brandon and Jessica?" Walter and Birkoff looked at each other. Walter answered, "Before this happened, Trevor tried to rape her. He beat her up pretty bad. Nikita was going to cancel him. Well, he took power as you know. When Brandon found out, he took her out of MedLab and put her into hiding. Nobody has seen them since." "Birkoff, can you find Nikita?" "Maybe, but it's risky." "Just do it." Birkoff took them straight to a private computer. That way nobody would see them. "Michael, I found her. They didn't unarm her tracking device. And he things he is good enough to run section. She's still in the city. In a small building." Michael looked at the computer and memorized the location. "Thank you Birkoff. You better get back to work. If you're gone too long Trevor will know something's up." He was right. After they walked out of the room, they said their good-byes and went their separate ways. Michael, of course, went straight to the building. He didn't know how long it would take, but he needed her help to stop Trevor. Around Midnight, he got to the building. There was no sign of anyone. He moved in closer to the upstairs attic. A sound was coming from the room. It was the sound of agony. He had no doubt that it was Nikita. He kicked the door open and went in. Nikita was knocked out cold. Michael quickly bent down on the bed and put his arms around her. "Nikita wake up. I can't do this without you. Come on!" He kept saying that as he tapped her lightly on the cheek. She was still out of it. "Nikita, are you with me? Come on." It took about a half an hour to get her fully functional. When she was back to her normal self, she realized she was once again with Michael. "Michael? What are you doing here? What happened? Where are we?" "Trevor and Monica have taken over section. They drugged and put you here." She started to get up. "Oh I remember now. I was about to cancel Trevor. Monica must have came up behind me. Is everyone okay? JESSICA?" "Everyone's okay. I will explain later. We need to stop them." Less than an hour later they where back at section. Michael and Nikita had their knowledge of section to help them. They knew it inside and out. As they walked through, Nikita looked over at him. "What's the plan Michael?" He stopped and looked back. "We will think of something. If we can get Trevor and Monica away from the rest of the pack then the others won't be as much of a obstacle. We can take care of them easier." Michael started to move again. "Trevor's partner will be the biggest problem." Nikita was surprised by the comment. "Who is it Michael?" He looked over at her. "Let's take care of one thing at a time. I'll tell you later." He then started moving again. He only stopped when he heard someone coming. Nikita heard it too. "Michael, someone is coming." Nikita whispered. They braced themselves for the worse. Michael looked over at her. He was ready to protect her. Nothing was going to take her away from him now. Michael drew his gun and went around the corner. He came faced to face with Brandon. Brandon was shocked to see him. "What are you doing here?" "From what I see, the same as you. Come on! We need your help." Michael grinned. Brandon was confused. "We?" He smiled, "Yes we," as they walked around the corner and Nikita came in sight. Brandon was happy to see her. "Nikita, I am so glad that you are okay. Did he hurt you?" He looked over at Michael. He was turned away from them. Brandon then leaned closer to Nikita and whispered, "What about... you know?" When Michael heard Brandon he turned around and smiled. "You mean the baby." Nikita and Brandon looked at him with amazement. "How did you know?" Nikita gasped. "I was at Section Five checking the MedLab reports. Someone was stealing supplies. I ended up checking One's files. A file labeled Pregnancy caught my attention. You can guess the rest." "Did you ever find out who was stealing the supplies?" Brandon asked. "Yes. It was Trevor. That's how I found out about everything that's going on. He got in a lot of trouble at Section Five. He would've been canceled but he had something over on the leader there. They gave in to his demands. Soon after that he was transferred to one. There was also information that proved he was the one after me." He looked at Nikita. "I knew that he would be after you. I couldn't let you be in that kind of danger." Nikita smiled and put her hand gently to his face. She then looked at Brandon. "How is Jess?" "She'll be fine. A few bruises, that's all, but Trevor brought back a lot of bad memories. I didn't want her around him after that. We have to take him out and I have a plan to do just that." Nikita looked at him in amazement. "What is this plan?" "Simple, kill Trevor and our problem is over." Michael and Nikita weren't impressed. Michael thought he would explain. "I've seen him. He is expecting me. Men are surrounding him everywhere. We can't get to him that easily. We also have to take out his men. I agree that he is first but there are too many of them to think that he is the only problem. They will have to be dealt with. Does he know that you are gone?" "Yeah. And he also knows that I want to kill him. I guess my plan wasn't that good after all." Michael thought about it. "No it isn't bad... just needs to be worked out." They made it back to where Michael met Walter and Birkoff. They decided that the best thing would be to get Walter and Birkoff to lead Trevor off. Then Michael, Nikita and Brandon would surprise him. This was the only way to avoid a full out war with all of his men. They were able to contact Birkoff from the computer. At three in the morning, everybody took their positions. The time had come to act. Birkoff and Walter spotted Trevor talking to Monica and some of his men. Nervously, they walked up to them. Walter was the first to talk. "Trevor...I mean Operations, We need you to check something for us." "What is it? It is late and can't you imbeciles see that I am busy?" "This has to do with Brandon and Jessica so I thought that you would be interested." Birkoff stated. "What about them?" "We might be able to trace them." Trevor realized right away that something was up. "Why would you two tell me if you where able to track them? They are your friends... aren't they?" It was a test. They knew it. Birkoff had an idea. "Well, this is not a question of friendship. You are the Operations now and we know how much you hated him. And liked her. Besides, if you have them, maybe you would let Nikita go?" "Oh.... I see. This is for your Nikita." He took a minute to look them over. "I am glad that you came to your senses. I'll free Nikita if what you're saying is the truth." Walter and Birkoff both knew that it was a lie. The only way he would free Nikita would be killing her. They started to walk toward the hall that Michael, Nikita and Brandon where hiding. Trevor, Monica and five of his men followed. Once Trevor realized that they where not going to Birkoff's desk, he asked questions. "Where are we going?" Birkoff thought fast. "To a computer over here. More privacy. Is that okay?" "Sure. Lead the way." Birkoff smiled. "Oh, I will... I sure will." They walked down the long gray hall. Walter and Birkoff's heart started beating faster as they came close to where Michael, Nikita and Brandon were waiting. When they turned the corner, Birkoff and Walter knew that they were now in their view. They stopped, giving Michael the chance to make his move. "Okay, which room is this computer in?" Trevor demanded. Michael saw this as there opportunity to move. He gave the signal and they went into action. Brandon jumped down from his hiding place and knocked one man out. By the time the other men got their guns ready, Michael came out from behind the door and shot two point blank. Nikita took the other two men behind him. Walter and Birkoff took this chance to grab Monica. By the time Trevor could react, Nikita was already behind him with a gun to his head. "It is over. You never be able to hurt anyone else ever again!" Trevor didn't say a word. He was a good strategist. He knew that Nikita was pregnant. She would be good bait. He quickly grabbed her arm. With a move that Nikita herself taught him, he changed their positions. Nikita was taken off guard. She tried to get out of it but he had her in a tight gripe. Michael was horrified. Trevor gave him his most devious grin. "Okay OP-ER-A-TIONS, you can have your section... or your family." Trevor smiled and looked down at her. "She doesn't even show yet does she?" This infuriated Michael. He knew that he should no of let Nikita take Trevor. He put her in that position. Michael nodded for Walter and Birkoff to let Monica go and put his gun on the floor. "Okay Trevor, what do you want me to do?" Nikita cried. "NO, Michael, NO! He is not going to let me go. Don't let him take power!" He looked at Nikita with his soft green eyes. "I can't take that chance." Trevor laughed and gave Nikita a shot. This made her unable to fight back. "Monica go get you know who and call for more men from the front." After he gave his order, Trevor took all of them into a new interrogation room. Trevor got his men to place them in the sets. He still had Nikita with him. Monica then came back with Paul and Madeline. She quickly tied them up. Everyone was stunned. Birkoff looked at Michael. "If they weren't helping Trevor then who in the world was?" Michael answered, "Who do you think Birkoff?" in his most sarcastic voice. Trevor heard this and then realized that he knew everything. "So you found out how I got here. I guess I have no secretes now." He looked at Monica, "Go get the boss." Trevor and his men went outside the door, leaving them all alone in the room. Everyone Looked at Michael. Paul was the one to ask the question. "Well who is it Michael? We need to know who we're up against." Michael didn't even look at him. "Trust me. You'll find out soon enough." As he finished his sentence, the door opened and Trevor walked through it. He looked at them, up and down. For once Trevor had them where he wanted. It was hard to miss the cocky grin on his face. He walked up straight to Michael. "Fool. How did you become Operations anyhow?" He then looked at everyone. I guess your all wondering what Michael has found out." He then walked to Paul and looked straight into his eyes. This was a dominant move that Paul himself had used plenty of times before. Trevor then bent down and whispered to him, "Especially you." He got up and looked around the room. "Well, I am going to let all of you in on my plan." At that moment George walked in the room. "You see, this is my partner. Got any questions now?" Everyone was shocked. Of all people, George was the last that any of them expected. Even Paul. George walked over to Michael. "You never did anything to me. Sorry you had to be the bait," he stated. After a short pause he developed a cocky grin. "But that's the way things go." He then walked over to Nikita. "That goes for you too." George had been waiting for this a long time. He walked up to Paul and Madeline. "It looks like I've won. Game over." Paul showed a calm exterior. He knew that this would drive George crazy. "It isn't over until it is over." George laughed. "Oh, I think it's save to say that it is. Who's going to help you now?" He looked at Trevor. He whispered "You know what you have to do" and walked out of the room. "If you're still are confused, I will explain. George caught me and some friends doing things that we weren't allowed to do. Instead of canceling us all, he transferred the ones he thought could be useful to him to different sections. All he wanted was to have all the sections under his power without any interference." He paused for a minute and looked right at Paul and Madeline. "I guess that would be you." All of a sudden, Trevor started laughing. "I bet you thought he actually stepped down. Got to admit, it is a smart man who can get his enemies right where he wants them. Especially ones as smart as you two are. I'm sure everything's clear now." Trevor had never been happier. His achieved what he always wanted. He looked at Nikita. He almost hated to do this. He wanted to keep her for himself but she would only give him problems. He took a deep sigh and looked at Michael. If he had to do this, he was going to have some fun with it. Trevor walked up to Michael. "Well Michael, that's play a little game called How Much is This Worth to You? Let's see what's first on the list." Trevor put the gun up to Michael's head. "Why, its your life." He yelled. "Beg for it." Michael gave him a smirk. "Not on your grave." Trevor laughed. "I guess we will have to find something that is worth a little more." With a short pause he slowly mumbled "Let's see..." as he walked around the room. He finally stopped and looked at Michael once again. "I know. I am sure this is worth something to you." Trevor then walked up to Nikita and put the gun to her head. "What do you think Monica?" She giggled. "Oh I think the blonde maybe worth something to him but I don't know why." Michael pleaded. "Please. Don't hurt her. You already have me." This only made Trevor stop for a second. He looked up at him. "Like I said, how in the world did YOU become Operations." He put the gun back to her head. No one could look, as he was about to pull the trigger. Michael emotions were rabid. "If you kill her, you can believe me when I say that you're dead." One thing went through his mind, if she died, it would be his fault. He was supposed to protect her. Trevor laughed. A second later everyone heard two gunshots. They all looked up to see Monica and Trevor fall to the ground and a badly bruised Jessica at the door with a smoking gun. She uttered "Bastard," and ran to Nikita. She was drugged but not hurt. ******
It had been five months since George, Trevor and Monica tried their takeover. Things had gone back to normal after Jessica "cancelled" all three of them. Trevor had told her his entire plan when he tried to rape her. When she got to the room that day, she knew George was the leader. She took him out in the hall before she even reached the room. This day was particularly joyous. The sun was shinning and there were flowers everywhere. Everyone gathered in the church. Michael and Brandon where waiting at the alter. Nikita and Jessica where at the door looking for their signal. The music started. Nikita started down the aisle. She was wearing a beautiful, long, sleeveless lavender dress with a wrap. Her stomach showed but she glorified it. The dress had a split up the side and a low back. Michael stared at her lovingly as she came closer to him. Even nine months pregnant, she still looked gorgeous. When Jessica came to the door, everyone stood up. She was wearing a long, figure fitting, lacey dress. Her hair was up in a French twist with flowers all in it. After the vows, everybody went to the reception outside a beautiful bed and breakfast. It over looked the city. It was a small gathering but beautiful just the same. Everyone had a glorious time. Sitting down at the table, Michael and Nikita thought about their own wedding that they had only five months before. He took her hand and bent over to whisper something in her ear. "You know, we haven't picked out names." "Oh, I already have." He smiled. "Oh, really, were you going to let me in on this?" She whispered, "I was thinking about it," and gave him a kiss. "We can decide later. I am not due for another two weeks. Right now, I want to try to dance!" He took her by the arm and led her to the dance floor. As Michael held her in his arms, he knew this was how he wanted things to be forever. It was only a week later when Nikita gave birth to a set of twins. A girl and a boy. They decided on the names Chelsea and Jordan. Jessica came to see Nikita when she got home. Nikita heard the bell. She went and opened the door. Jessica was happy to see her up. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Nikita smiled. "Oh, I have been through worse." "Really?" Nikita paused, "No." Jessica giggled. "Can I see them?" "Of course you can." Jessica wasted no time going straight to the babies. "Oh they are gorgeous. She looks like you and he looks like Michael. You are so lucky." Nikita looked down over them and smiled. "I know." As Jessica was holding Jordan, Michael came home. He went straight to Nikita and gave her a loving kiss. She was glad to see him. "Hey, how were things at section?" "Good, but it is lonely without you. Birkoff and Walter are coming by tomorrow to see the babies and drop off some gifts." "Oh that is good. I would like to see them." She smiled. Michael picked up Chelsea and started to play with her. Jessica smiled and whispered to Nikita, "Daddy's little girl." Michael looked over at Nikita. "They are special." Looking at them Nikita smiled, "Yeah they are." Michael put her back down and went to take a shower. Nikita looked at Jessica. "He is very good with them." "I can tell. It is in the way he looks at them." "Yeah," Nikita got up and took Chelsea. "So, how's married life on your end?" Jessica had a happy expression on her face. "Great. I am very happy. It's amazing. I didn't think it would work out." "I told you things would." Jessica was shocked. She remembered their talks. "Yeah you did. How did ya know? Anything could've happened." Nikita looked at Jessica and grinned. "Didn't you know? That's the way things always go." "I guess they do..." Jessica laughed, "I guess they do."
