Characters: Michael, youngest son of a wealthy landowner, who is studying to become a priest; Nikita, daughter of an Aussie officer assigned to the British Embassy in Paris; Colonel Paul Wolfe, an American officer, shot down over France; Walter, an American Spec Ops operative sent in to assist the Maquis (French Underground); Madeline, an embittered member of the Maquis; Birkoff, a young ball-turret gunner on a B-17, who is shot down and trying to get back home.
