It wasn’t what she had anticipated at all. There was nobody to guide her to where she was going. No last words from those people around her. It wasn’t calm and serene. It was just like everything else she had experienced in her time with Section One, quick and leaving many unanswered questions.

This wasn’t the way she wanted it to happen. There were her beliefs that she held strong and her faith that would last forever, her courage and demanding soul.

Nothing would be the same ever again. It was over and she let in the warmth that encased her. Looking around she could see light figures. None were alone, each had another there with it as if to support it. The majority of them were dancing close together in one fluid motion as a single being, but for the others it was more of a rigid dance, uncomfortable and unappealing.

She didn’t belong here. It wasn’t her time yet and she wasn’t ready for it. Feeling an overpowering need to leave this place, she entered another space. This place was completely different. Yet again it was filed with the pale figures, but here they were all alone as if waiting for another to come and join them. This was where she belonged, all she needed to do was to sit and wait.

That’s what she did, not one movement of her body or sound from her lips. New figures would constantly enter the space. Some moved to sit on their own as she had done and others moved towards other figures and proceeded to the first room together. None came to her. She was left alone to one side with no understanding of the place she was in or why she was there.

All the worries of the world rested upon her shoulders, even in this place. It was seemingly relaxing for most of the figures, but not her. She didn’t feel that this was where she belonged, she needed to be out in the other room.

Another figure entered the place, but this one was different. There seemed to be a glow around the figure and it seemed higher that the others as if floating above them. The figure became closer and closer to her, with each movement seeming to draw her closer. A hand reached out to her, beckoning her to go with the figure. She stood and moved with the figure, still having no understanding of what she was undertaking or doing.

They exited the place and appeared somewhere she knew very well. They were back in Section One Headquarters. Moving down the halls without taking a single step, they reached Walter’s station. It was empty and lifeless without the feeling of joy that it usually held for her. Why though did she feel this longing for Walter and the joy? Was it something to do with her?

A hand came to rest upon her mouth as if to stop her questioning and she was then lead down the empty halls again. This time they came to rest at Michael’s office. It was dark and cold. The lights were off and the only light emerging was from the figure next to her. The room was empty, with no people, no chairs or tables, no computers and no plants. It was nothing like how she remembered it, but why should she remember it? Was this some place that she knew and why did it mean so much to her that this place was empty?

They yet again began moving. They passed a computer station where a young man sat crying with his back to them, a large office that was filled with clothes and accessories and she felt an unexplainable feeling of wanting to stay there and experiment with the clothes and see what they looked like upon her. Finally they reached what seemed like their final destination. It was a small room, decorated completely in white. On the floor lay the body of a young woman. She had long blonde hair that covered her face and was dressed completely in black. Around her body lay a pool of blood.

In a chair next to the body sat a man not much different in age to the woman. He ached as he looked at the body and never once did he take his eyes away from her, slowly removing himself from the chair to be next to her. Not once did he reveal his face to the pair of figures that stood in the corner and watched. A woman to their side lifted his arm to the man’s head and after a deafening ring the man’s body went limp as the life drained out of him.

With a last effort he reached out to the woman and turned her body over to embrace him. Then the two lay still and lifeless next to each other. The people exited the room and she felt a push from the glowing figure, moving her towards the bodies. Looking down, she screamed. There before her lay her own body and that of the man she loved. All her memories came back to her and she reached down to the bodies.

An overpowering force lifted her away from the bodies, away from the white room and away from the Earth, back into the place she had first entered. The figures still stayed there dancing, but she was still not welcome there. With a last push she was back in the lonely room again and the glowing figure was gone. Not letting it take too much time, she sat back where she was before and a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders. She was finally free to do as she wanted no matter whom it disobeyed or hurt in the process.

A new figure entered the room, but his one she could see perfectly. He had shoulder-length brown hair, slight stubble on his chin and very distinct seemingly French features. His body was perfectly sculptured and dressed all in black. She knew this figure. It was her soulmate, the one she as destined to be with for all time and the one she would be for all time. As they touched, they were brought back into the dancing room and as if they didn’t know it, their bodies moved as a single unit as they danced their way to everlasting happiness.
